It's the greatest mercy my mother, uncle, and I could offer." With a sweeping gesture, several figures in black emerged from behind the rocks, swiftly apprehending Tanya and her aide.

She was cut off mid-sentence by Kevin's slap, sending her crashing to the ground. "Say one more word, and I'll cut out your tongue." She spat blood onto the floor. "Don't forget that I still have Aurelia's antibiotic." Kevin scoffed. "Mr. Leopold doesn't need it anymore." Leopold had been waiting for the antibiotic to be developed before taking action against Tanya.

With that, Kevin turned on his heel and left.

Megan's screams, raw and hoarse, followed him out until she was screaming blood.

The moon was full and bright that night.

Aurelia sat by the window, gazing at the moon, feeling a peace she hadn't known in a long time.

Leopold approached and wrapped his arms around her slim waist. "Honey, let's never be apart again, okay?" Her heart thundered with emotion. Kevin had told her everything.

He divorced her and entered into a sham marriage with Megan to get the antibiotic to save her.

"Let's talk about getting remarried after Christmas," she suggested.

He spun her around to face him. "Why wait until after Christmas?" She met his gaze, serious as could be. "Because this year has been all misfortune. It's not a good tfor weddings."
