Callie's jaw dropped in disbelief. She couldn't fathom how her shrewd and capable daughter, Megan, could be so foolish as to be played like a fool.

Megan's face was ashen, her lips devoid of color. She had anticipated it deep down but found it hard to accept. The AK Group was her last hope and last straw to clutch at.

With a choked sob, Megan fell to her knees before Jessica. "Please, Jessica, you must find my child with Leopold. He's your grandchild. I'm begging you." Jessica's expression was cold as ice. "I have only one grandson. As for your child, who knows whose it is? I'll accept nothing less than a DNA test." "It's Leopold's child," Megan swore, raising her palm. "I've never been unfaithful to him." "You conspired with the AK Group to set up Leopold, and now you have the nerve to swear on it?" Jessica scoffed. "Go hand wait for the divorce papers. Your marriage is over. If you want your child, ask the AK Group. Who else would hide the child but them?" With that, she turned and walked away.

Through her tears, Megan protested, "My child is Leopold's. He's truly a Stirling. I never cheated, never. I love Leopold too much to betray him!" Callie, frustrated, poked Megan's forehead. "Why on earth did you get mixed up with the AK Group? How can the Stirling family ever accept you now?" Megan was inconsolable. "Without their help, I could never have ousted Aurelia and married Leopold." Callie sighed. "Such a marriage is pointless. No wonder the Stirling family never accepted you. They've wanted you out since day one." Megan wept bitterly. "Mom, what do I do now?" "Finding the child is the priority. Get a lawyer and fight for what's yours. You can't walk away with nothing. Aurelia got a fortune in her divorce." Callie reasoned that the Stirling family might have to give Megan a larger share of the estate with a child involved.

Megan clenched her jaw. She'd destroy Aurelia’s antibiotics if Leopold insisted on the divorce. They might as well die together, for she had no desire to live.

"If I can't be Mrs. Stirling, neither will Aurelia. Her life is in my hands." Callie paused. "Is there something you're not telling me?" Megan sniffled. "Let's get in the car, and I'll explain it." During the ride home, she revealed the antibiotic’s secret.

Then, Callie understood why Leopold had divorced Aurelia to marry her daughter.

"You plan to destroy the antibiotics and take Aurelia down with you?" Callie slapped her on the back. "Have you lost your mind? If you cross Leopold, it's not just you who'll suffer. The Alcott family will be doomed." Megan cried, "Should I just watch Aurelia reclaim her place as Mrs. Stirling? I'd rather be dead!" Callie poked her forehead again. "You're being foolish. If you and Aurelia die, someone new will reap the rewards and take the place without lifting a finger. You'll have achieved nothing but lining someone else's pockets." Megan sobbed. "What should I do then? If I can't be Mrs. Stirling, neither can Aurelia." Callie pondered for a moment before replying, "Alright, leave it to me. I'll find a solution that benefits everyone."
