"We're done. He's officially my number twenty-five ex-boyfriend now," Beverly said indifferently, sounding like breakups were no more significant to her than a routine trip to the grocery store.

Aurelia choked on her latte, shocked not only by the fact that Beverly had split from her latest beau after two weeks but also that she had managed to rack up twenty-five exes.

Catching the incredulity in Aurelia's eyes, Beverly smirked. "Aurelia, guys are like last season's jeans. If they don't fit, you find a new pair. With so many studs out there, why settle for one and miss out on the rest of the party?" Love is just a dopamine high.

The longer the secretion, the longer the relationship lasts.

While others rode the dopamine wave for three months, Beverly's high crashed after two weeks.

Aurelia swallowed hard, a terrifying realization dawning on her that the infamous Stirling charm wasn't just passed down to the sons. The daughters were equally endowed! "And none out of those twenty-five were Mr. Right?" Aurelia probed.

Beverly shrugged, sticking to her guns. She was a 'no strings attached" kind of girl. Beverly went out with the guys but never slept with them. She never wanted men failing to keep it in their pants.

"Good men are rare. So, I take my sweet time, playing the field until I spot one." Aurelia nodded. "Better to be alone than in bad company." For heiresses like them, the dating pool was more like a puddle, which made it more difficult for them to pick their husbands than the ordinary girls. Even if it meant marrying down, it had to be to someone with a solid middle-class background, good looks, excellent genes, high IQ, and good character.

Just then, a text buzzed in. [ Meetin the attic.] With a roll of her eyes, Aurelia realized Leopold was there, too.

Being a bodyguard must be a sweet gig compared to being the boss, free as a bird and far from the public eye.

Sneaking away unnoticed, Aurelia climbed to the attic.

She pushed the door open and found him lounging on the sofa. She locked the door and drew the curtains, ensuring privacy.

"What's up with the cloak and dagger act? If we get caught, they'll think I'm having a secret affair with the hot new bodyguard." Leopold pulled out a small box from his pocket. "This is a Valentine's Day gift for you." Warmth spread through her as she opened the box to find a sleek, cylindrical gadget.

She pressed the button on top.

A door slid open on the device, revealing a holographic robot that bore an uncanny resemblance to Leopold.

"Boss, why have you awakenednow? I've been asleep for so long." Aurelia snorted with laughter. "What is this?" "This is your AideBot. It'll serve you tirelessly in my stead," he said with a mischievous grin.

Blinking, an idea struck Aurelia. "You don't have another one that's my double, do you?" He looked helpless and tweaked her cheek playfully. "With the real deal around, who needs a double? It's not like it can keep you warm at night or cuddle up with you." Aurelia was momentarily speechless.

Leopold's double could be of suse. She could vent her frustrations on it whenever he ticked her off.

"AideBot, do you know who Leopold is?" she asked the robot.

AideBot crossed its arms and sneered. "Boss, isn't Leopold your husband? Did you need to askthat? Such a stupid question is beneath my intelligence." Aurelia had no idea what to say in reply.

"You didn't program this robot, did you?" It was so sassy, and it did seem like him.

Leopold's lips curled up slightly. "This is a labor of love, crafted for you only." Aurelia switched off the AideBot and pocketed it. Later, she'd have Kane give it a proper 'education.' If she couldn't tthe big bad wolf, she could manage his robotic stand-in instead.

Just then, Leopold reached out. "Where's my gift?"
