Megan's cries echoed from outside the manor, "Mom, I'm also a Stirling by marriage, and I'm carrying Leopold's child. My baby and I have the right to honor the Stirling ancestors." "Leopold's situation has nothing to do with me, and I'm being framed. Why would I harm him? I'd give my life for Leopold." At the entrance of the family chapel, Leopold's thin lips curved into a mocking sneer.

Jessica furrowed her brow, then she commanded, "Let her be. Continue with the ceremony." Outside the iron gates.

Megan clutched her swollen belly, her sobs drenching her cheeks.

With Leopold's fate hanging by a thread, if she couldn't soften Jessica's heart to let her in, it was all over.

A security guard approached, "Madam, please go back inside. Kneeling out here won't do any good, and you're pregnant. It would be terrible if you harmed the baby." Megan bit her lip and continued to shout, "Mrs. Stirling, I am Leopold's lawful wife, and we have a marriage certificate. Even if you don't accept me, I'm a Stirling. If you refuse to letpay respects to the ancestors, I'll kneel here indefinitely. Mrs. Stirling, please, I didn't harm Leopold, and I've done nothing wrong. Someone is deliberately framing me. I'm innocent." Jessica stepped out.

Megan quickly crawled to her feet, clutching her legs as if they were a lifeline.

"Mrs. Stirling, I truly didn't harm Leopold. I love him very much. How could I hurt him?" Jessica pinched her chin, her gaze sharp as a blade, "You know exactly who poisoned Leopold, yet you choose silence, hoping that scoundrel will elevate you? Do you think you can deceive the Stirling family? For your selfish desires, you've colluded with outsiders against your own husband Leopold. According to Stirling family law, that's a capital offense. If it weren't for the child you carry, I would have already executed our family justice." Each word struck Megan like thunder, shaking her to the core, every nerve trembling.

"I don't know anything. I just know that the poisoned coffee was handed to Leopold by Aurelia. She must have poisoned him and then blamed me. You must see through this and clear my name." Jessica scoffed, "Do you really think I'm oblivious? You're ambitious yet foolish. Do you really believe a petty criminal organization could destabilize the Stirling family? If we were so easily toppled, we wouldn't hold the esteemed position we do." Like a deflated balloon, Megan slumped to the ground, fear gripping her heart. Her machinations had led to nothing. She had lost the chance to be the lady of the house or to secure her son's inheritance.

The boss was supposed to eliminate Kane, the thorn in her side, but he remained alive and well, while Leopold had been poisoned.

As long as Kane lived, her son meant nothing. The Stirling family would neither prioritize her child nor care for her.

Jessica ordered the guards to help Megan up and pack her into a car to be taken away.

Back in the chapel, the ceremony continued.

After nearly two hours, the solemn rites concluded, and everyone proceeded to Magnolia Heights.

Located not far from the Stirling Mansion, Magnolia Heights was a grand estate where the Stirling family entertained guests, far larger than the Stirling Mansion.

Distant relatives were accommodated there.

The relatives would stay in Elysium a while longer, departing only after celebrating Nova's christening, but most importantly, to ascertain Leopold's condition.

Aurelia was also there, cradling Nova. Jessica had invited her, and though she was no longer a Stirling by marriage, she was still the mother of Kane and William.

Nova, having just been nursed, slept peacefully in Aurelia's arms.
