Lisbeth could tell that Agent A didn't trust her, always on guard around her. But with the bodyguards keeping a tight watch outside,

not letting anyone contact him, he would inevitably grow restless. She had to make him realize that she was his only link to the

outside world.

Arnold was back. In an accident during a rock climbing shoot, he injured his leg. Aurelia quickly took William to visit him.

"Daddy, does your leg hurt?" William's tears fell like pearls off a string, nonstop.

"It's okay, buddy. I just need to rest in bed for a while, so no baseball for me," Arnold stroked his head. "Did Leopold pick on you

while I was gone?"

"Yeah." William nodded. "I don't like Uncle Leopold. He's a meanie."

Arnold caressed his cheek, "From now on, Daddy's got your back. No one's allowed to bully my boy."

Aurelia sighed quietly to herself. She worried that Leopold might up his game, potentially scarring the child's tender heart even

more. It would only make it harder for William and Leopold to bond.

"Arnold, I made you snutritious soup, it's good for the bones. Letget you a bowl."

"Thanks," Arnold nodded. He loved Aurelia, yet he knew she wouldn't cback to him. He could only leave Elysium and throw

himself into work to heal.

Aurelia served a bowl of soup, placing it on a tray.

"You've got to be more careful. Let your assistant handle the risky stuff."

Arnold knew she still cared, which warmed his heart.

"It was just a freak accident. I'll be more cautious, don't worry."

William piped up, "Dad, I'll cto keep you company every day. That way, you won't be bored lying in bed."

Arnold smiled fondly at his son.

William was his little ray of sunshine, so good and understanding.

Then, Lisa arrived with Nova, rushing over as soon as she got Aurelia's call.

Nova, seated in her stroller, stretched out her little hands happily at the sight of William, "Brother..."

William hugged her, planting a kiss on her rosy cheek.

"Nova, Daddy got hurt."

Nova looked at him with big curious eyes, then turned those dark orbs to Arnold, not understanding what being hurt meant. She

gazed at the cast on Arnold's leg with curiosity, unsure of what that thing was.

"Daddy... leg... rock."

William shook his head, "That's not a rock, it's a cast. You wear it when your leg is hurt and take it off when it's better."

"Cast?" Nova tried the word.

"Don't be scared, sweetheart. I'm okay," Arnold reassured, stroking her cheek.

Nova seemed to understand and broke into a smile, "Play with me, William."

Aurelia had a playmat laid out and let Nova down to play with William.

Lisa frowned slightly, "Christmas is coming up. Can you make it to the Stirling Mansion for the family dinner?"

Arnold shrugged, "I'll skip the celebration this year. I'll just spend it here alone."

Aurelia saw an opening, "Why not have Lisa and Nova join you for Christmas? After the dinner, I can bring William over. It's Nova's

first Christmas, she'd love to have both her parents with her."

Arnold hesitated for a moment before nodding, "Alright."

If William was coming over, maybe Aurelia would join too.

Lisa felt a wave of relief. Of course, she wanted to spend Christmas with Arnold. All alone here, she had no family, no friends

except Aurelia.
