Us kids are the best at keeping secrets, not you adults, always two-faced." Lisbeth studied him, unable to peg him as either a grown-up or a kid.

"Cwith me," Skyler said. He led her upstairs to his secret lab, a state-of-the-art sanctuary bankrolled by Aurelia.

Lisbeth was floored by the hidden wonder inside the villa.

The lab was a maze of cages housing lab mice, and Skyler used them for his experiments. He even borrowed monkeys from Elysium BioResearch when things got serious.

"Let's run stests to see what kind of poison we're dealing with." He drew a blood sample and got to work with his high-tech gadgets and microscope.

"Medusa? You got hit with Medusa too?" Lisbeth pressed, "What's Medusa?" "A nasty superbug from the Amazon," Skyler explained. "Angel got hit with it too, but she's all cured up now." Lisbeth felt a jolt of fear that she had the spoison through her veins as Aurelia once did.

"How do you cure it?" "Well, to cure Angel, Leopold had his guys catch a hedgehog from the Amazon, a carrier for Medusa. They extracted a phage from it. Elysium BioResearch probably still has those hedgehogs. I'll hook you up and they'll get those phages to gobble up the superbug in no time." Hope sparked in Lisbeth's eyes, a light in the dark.

"Will the superbug harm the baby?" "You're expecting?" Skyler asked.

"No," Lisbeth shook her head quickly, "Just curious, you know, just in case." Skyler reassured her, "The bug can cross the placenta, so it could affect the baby. But it's usually only a risk during an acute outbreak. If nothing's flaring up, no worries."
