"Adults shouldn't get mad at kids anyway. My dad would never yell at me. When I was little and broke his favorite camera, he didn’t even raise his voice. Uncle Leopold has such a temper." Kane just shrugged, "Dad has never been mad at me." William made a face, "That's because you're his only son, the heir. I'm just the nephew he doesn’t like, which is why he yells at me." Mira turned around, "My mom yells ata lot too. She never yells at my sister, just me. Mom doesn't likeand always callsdumb, mad that I'm not a boy." Nina stuck her tongue out at her, saying, "You are pretty dumb." Kane shook his head, replying, "Mira's not dumb at all. She's just playing it cool." "What's the meaning of playing it cool?" Mira asked, her curiosity piqued.

"It means you let people think you're not smart when you actually are. You just don’t show off your smarts," Kane explained.

Mira grinned, revealing cute dimples, "Kane's always the nicest to me." Nina scoffed, "I can't see any smarts in her." Mira grabbed an apple and started munching on it, "Doesn’t matter if you can’t see it. I like being the fool. I want to be like my cousin Skyler, forever a kid, without worries at all." Nina rolled her eyes, saying, "Whatever you say. Dad left us half his fortune anyway. I'll give you a bit more since you'll probably be too lazy to work and just want to play all the time." She was determined to be a powerhouse when she grew up.

Downstairs, Kevin arrived and went straight to the study with Leopold. They talked for a long tbefore Leopold finally emerged from the study.

Aurelia lay on the couch, listening to music and enjoying a facial mask, almost drifting off to sleep.

She opened her eyes to find the devastatingly handsface of her husband. She smiled coyly, "All done with business?" "It wasn't business." Leopold presented a DNA test report. It was for Tanya and that impostor Raines.

The report confirmed they were not related by blood.

Aurelia was shocked to her core, "He's not Geoffrey?" Leopold didn't respond, his long fingers tapping thoughtfully on the armrest of the couch.

Aurelia picked up a tangerine, peeling it segment by segment.

"If he is Raines, why would his habits and tastes change overnight? Why did he lose so much weight? Why did Elfreda disappear? If he isn't Raines, then who is he? Do you have another half-brother from your father, lost and wandering out there?"
