Sheryl said, "When I was pregnant, my mom toldto keep it under wraps until after the first trimester. She said it was bad luck to spill the beans too early, like tempting fate or something." Aurelia tucked a stray lock of hair behind her ear, pondering the possible . If Lisbeth really was pregnant and Raines was the father, they were in for a soap opera level of trouble.

"Sheryl, let's not jump to conclusions, okay? If Lisbeth's just got a stomach bug, we'll feel pretty silly." Hearing this, Sheryl chuckled and dropped the subject.

After a day of fun, everyone headed to the diner for a hearty meal, and then they retired to their hotel rooms to rest.

Nina carried a plate of dessert to Fredric's room, "Dad, I ordered your favorite, rice pudding with cinnamon. It's your nighttsnack." Fredric stroked Nina's hair, "Nina, you're getting sweeter by the day." Nina grinned, dimples popping, "Eat up, I want to see you finish it before I leave." "Alright," Fredric said with a fond smile and quickly polished off the sweet treat.

Nina hugged him tightly and kissed his cheek, "Goodnight, Dad. I'm off to bed." She skipped out, full of youthful energy, and headed to her room.

Sheryl cupped Nina's face, "Did Daddy finish his rice pudding?" "Yep," Nina nodded.

Sheryl smiled and kissed Nina's cheek, "That's my girl." Once the kids were asleep, she drifted to Fredric's room.

Fredric was already in a deep slumber, motionless on the bed. She smirked slyly, beginning to unbutton his shirt.

Raines wasn't sleepy yet and strolled through the hotel's rooftop garden.

The sky was adorned with a full moon, and it was the fifteenth. He always felt invigorated during the full moon, as if life itself was being poured into him.

So, he decided to soak up the moonlight before heading to bed.

Sitting down, he lit a cigarette and took a slow drag. The smoke curled around his handsface, adding to his air of mystery.

Suddenly, a shadow darted from the sky, landing on his shoulder.

His instinct made him glance sideways, and a shiver shot through him. He jumped up, shaking his shoulder violently to dislodge the cockroach.

The cockroach fell and scuttled away.

Raines shook off the initial shock, pursued the critter, and squashed it under his shoe, grinding it into the pavement with disgust.

He shook his foot with a grimace and retreated to his room, his mood soured by the unpleasant encounter with the insect.

In the surveillance room, Aurelia and Leopold watched every move.

"Looks like Raines really hates cockroaches. Does that confirm he's Geoffrey?" Aurelia mused.

Leopold tapped his long fingers on the table, "It's a normal reaction. You'd probably do the same, right?" Aurelia pulled a face, admitting that anyone would startle at a bug out of nowhere.

"I set up this whole scene on purpose, you know, arranging the party for tonight." Leopold stroked her hair, "Don't worry. At least we're getting closer to the truth. Raines is actually pretty brave, and he's not afraid of cockroaches." With that, he pulled her close, "It's late. Let's go to bed." After all, a moment of intimacy is worth more than gold.

The next day, a fierce argument woke them up.

It was coming from next door, Fredric's room.

"Sheryl, you disgust me! Using Nina to drug me? Have you lost your mind?" He slapped Sheryl across the face, sending her tumbling to the floor with a handprint stark against her cheek.
