She thought the kids were just flipping through some comics or fairy tales at the bookstore when they were on their own.

The kids glanced at each other, then lowered their heads and kept eating.

Her heart skipped a beat. She quickly averted her gaze and lowered her head. She tried to pretend she didn’t see him, heading straight. for the building.
