Chapter 1364

Thalassa fought to contain the fear and pain welling up inside her, convincing herself that Lysander had merely fallen asleep.

She called out to him, certain he would awaken.

But no matter how loudly she called his name, there was no response.

Her hands, wrapped around his back, felt a warm, sticky liquid. Even without looking, she knew it was Lysander’s blood.

Before he had collapsed, his mouth had been oozing fresh blood.

Her cheek brushed against his, still warm to the touch, his skin firm and masculine as

ever.

Trembling, Thalassa cradled Lysander’s face in her hands, gently lifting his head to face her. Through her tear-blurred vision, she saw blood flow from a gash on his head, cascading across his thick brow, past his handsome eyes, and even trickling down his nose to his lips.

The scene was a dagger to Thalassa’s heart, the pain so intense it threatened to suffocate her. Yet, a sliver of hope lingered Lysander was just injured, merely unconscious, and he

would recover.

Her breath caught in her throat, and with shaking hands, she reached out to feel his

breath.

The robust, deep breaths of the past were now so faint they were almost imperceptible.

Realization struck; her hand froze mid-air, her pupils dilated, and her body became rigid as tears momentarily forgot to fall.

Then, an agonizing pain spread from her core, threatening to tear her a

“No! Lysander, don’t die! Please don’t!”

A heart-wrenching cry tore from Thalassa’s depths, a cry of unbearable p

Clutching Lysander’s lifeless body, she struggled to sit up, cradling his limp arms, sobbing uncontrollably, her voice choked with tears. “Lysander, I’ll tak hospital. Please stay with me, don’t you dare sleep…”

Her entire body shook as she attempted to reach for her cell phone to call for a ambulance, but the fear of leaving Lysander alone, even for a moment, paralyze

She couldn’t bear to let him go, her heart aching as if cleaved by a knife, making it even breathe.

Dazed and trembling, she looked around for her phone, but her mind was blank on

whereabouts.

She wanted to set Lysander down to search for the phone, but the fear that it might be a final act of separation was overwhelming.

Crying in despair, her voice weak, she pleaded, “Lysander, please wake up. If you just wake

up,

I’ll forgive everything. I won’t drive you away again… Please, wake up…”

When the villagers heard the explosion, their first instinct was to flee.

They rushed out of their homes, and when the chaos subsided, they gathered around Thalassa’s house to see what had happened.

To their shock, they found Thalassa clutching a man, her cries heart-wrenching, while Astrid was buried under the rubble, her whereabouts unknown.

The villagers whispered among themselves, pointing and speculating.

Through the swirling dust, Thalassa saw the villagers. Still holding onto Lysander’s warm body, her voice desperate as she yelled, “Please, someone call 911, hurry! I beg you…”

“Thalassa, don’t panic. I’ll call for help. Just stay calm,” an elderly neighbor reassured her while dialing emergency services.

“Thank… thank you…” Thalassa’s voice shook.

As she spoke, Lysander’s body slumped backward, his unconscious form offering no

resistance.

Realizing he was about to fall, Thalassa pulled him closer, her hands trembling as she held him tight, their foreheads touching. His blood smeared over her, but she did not care

in the least.

Through misty eyes and a body chilled with fear, Thalassa whispered, “Lysander, th doctors will be here soon. Just hang on. Don’t give up, or I’ll never forgive you…”

In the sky, Susan maneuvered the helicopter with a distant detachment, dropping on Thalassa’s villa. She watched as Thalassa’s home crumbled, no one emerging the wreckage.

The sky was a haze of dust and debris, obscuring her view of the aftermath. But sh certain no one inside could have survived.

She had never flown a helicopter before, having spent just half an hour learning. It se her crash course had paid off,
