Chapter 1313

Thalassa’s breath hitched, her stomach cramped in discomfort-a mix of loathing for Susan and a deep, chilling hurt from Lysander’s previous suspicion towards her.

His hand traced her back, and even through the fabric, she could feel the warmth of his palm, the roughness of calluses tender against her skin.

It sent a shiver down her spine with a mix of fear and palpitations.

Taking a step forward, she dodged Lysander’s touch. “Mr. Sinclair, the lady you care about is here now. You should be tending to her,” Thalassa said coolly, not even sparing Lysander a glance before she turned to leave.

Lysander’s heart twisted at her sarcasm. His brows furrowed, a cold aura enveloping him. “Thalassa, wait up! I’ve got these documents here, and I can’t make heads or tails of them. Can you help me out?” Susan called out, hastening to block Thalassa’s path.

She waved the papers with a smile plastered on her face, addressing Thalassa cheerfully.

Hearing Susan mentioning documents from her father felt like a branding iron searing Thalassa’s heart, burning with the pain of fresh wounds.

Was Bruce about to reveal publicly what he had done to Evelyn?

Thalassa’s heart leapt to her throat as she reached out to snatch the papers.

But Susan hoisted them up high, making them out of Thalassa’s reach.

“Susan, what the hell are you playing at?” Thalassa’s voice quivered with rage, her eyes blazing.

“What? I didn’t say anything. Why are you getting so worked up?” Susan replied, her lips curled in a sly grin.

That day in the hospital, when Susan’s hope of staying by Lysander’s side had been dashed, she trembled with hatred. If she couldn’t have Lysander, she would make sure Thalassa neither.

Her dear dad was quite the character, with a bedpost notched by countless conquests. He had a peculiar habit of recording every encounter in a file, even printing them out on paper. The descriptions of the women and their performances were lurid.

Although Thalassa didn’t know what Susan was up to, her instincts screamed trouble.

Panic and worry consumed her, terrified that the ordeal with Evelyn and Bruce would come to light, especially now that her mother had only just begun to recover from the emotional turmoil.

With her chest heaving in fury, Thalassa roared, “Give me the damn file!”

“If I feel like it, I will. But now that you want it, I’m inclined not to!” Susan taunted, lifting her

hand om higher.

Suddenly, the documents were snatched from her grasp.

Susan whirled around to see Lysander holding the papers, her bravado crumbling into silent fury.

Lysander pinched the files, ready to flip it open.

Thalassa’s heart raced as she lunged forward, “Don’t open it!”

Lysander didn’t dodge, allowing her to clutch the files to her chest. His arms circled her waist, pulling her close as he gazed down at her, “Still feeling unwell?”

Thalassa couldn’t care less about Lysander’s concern. Her hands trembled violently as she tried to tear the file apart. In her haste, she aimed to rip even the folder’s cover, but her shaking fingers were too weak.

Seeing her struggle, Lysander took the folder from her hands, “Let me.”

With that, he opened the folder.

Thalassa was petrified, her heart in her throat, eyes wide with terror as she screamed, “Don’t open it!”

But it was too late. Lysander had already flipped it open, revealing pages of A4 with text.
