Once she got the “fiance” label, everyone started to kiss her ass. She was loving the envy filled glares that came her way 

So, she had to become the legit Mrs. Lindberg pronto 

In a luxury brand store at a mall. Penelope’s friend picked up a dress, sucking up to her, “Penelope, this dress would look stunning on you. It’s perfect for your complexion 

and style.” 

Penelope gave it a once–over, thought it was decent, “I take this one. Then she pointed at a few more, “And this one, this one, and these two 

The sales lady asked, “Ms. Flanagan, you’re taking all of them?” 

Penelope felt a bit uneasy inside. She was always on a budget, usually only able to afford one piece, but today, in front of her friends, she forced a yes, “Of course” 

She expected a scolding from Christopher when she got home, but who cares, she’s engaged to Lucian, soon to be his wife. 

The sales lady immediately started packing with a big grin on her face 

After shopping and getting a hair treatment in the afternoon, Penelope headed to Juniper Ridge 

She also bought a bunch of gifts for Lucian 

Penelope told Holly. “I’ve bought a few items for Mr. Lindberg. Put them in his closet.” 

Holly promptly responded, “Sure thing” 

Just as she started to walk upstairs, Penelope changed her mind, “Never mind, I’ll do it myself 

Holly assured her, “Hell love whatever you picked out.” 

Penelope couldn’t help but smile. 

Men’s closets are typically neater than women’s, Lucian’s suits were arranged by shades, with white shirts and black shirts at opposite ends. Penelope added the clothes she picked out, saw a forest green tie of his, and checked the brand. 

A no–name brand mixed with the ties worth thousands? This was just a few hundred bucks worth of junk. 

After arranging everything, she nodded in satisfaction 

Lucian would definitely love it. 

Lucian got home that night, glanced at his closet, furrowed his brows, immediately called Holly over, “Who’s been in my closet today?” 

Holly replied, “It was Ms Flanagan.” 

Lucian frowned, “What did she want?” 

“Ms. Flanagan bought you a few clothes.” Holly knew about Lucian’s habits, the housekeepers were always careful when cleaning his closet, but there was no reason for her to stop Penelope, his fiancé 

Lucian asked, “Did you see my forest green tie?” 

Holly was taken aback. “No” 

She knew that tie, Mr. Lindberg wore it many times. It was a gift from Ms. Flanagan 

Just then, Penelope called. 

‘Lucian, I got you a shirt yesterday, try it on.” 

He didn’t bother with the shirt she bought, he could tell it was a bit too small just by looking at it. 

“Penelope, did you see my forest green tie in the drawer?” 

“Forest green tie?” Penelope remembered, wasn’t that the one she threw away? 

She didn’t quite get his point, but by the way he asked, she dared not answer correctly. “No, what happened to the lie?” 

Lucian’s brows furrowed, his eyes colder, ‘You didn’t touch it?” 

Hearing his tone turn cold, Penelope was at a loss. She didn’t understand why his mood would change so suddenly. 

Did she say something wrong? 

Penelope was confused, what’s the big deal with the lie?
