Chapter 66 

In the end, she decided to head to the hospital. It was around 11 PM, with hardly any traffic on the road. Allison hit the gas, speeding towards the nearest hospital as fast and smoothly as she could 

After parking, she walked to the back door of the car, opened it and said, “Mr. Lindberg, we’re at the hospital. Let me help you out” 

“I told you I wanted to go back to Juniper Ridge 

He pushed her away, a bit irritably Allison didn’t expect that even though he was feeling unwell, he still insisted on going home. 

She helped him out of the car. He was weak from the intense stomach pain Allison closed the car door and resolutely helped him towards the hospital. 

A nurse immediately brought a stretcher. He was taken to the emergency center 

The doctor frowned, “Why has he drunk so much?” 

“Doctor, how is he?” 

“He has acute gastritis. Let’s get him on an IV. You go pay the bill.” 

After the nurse took him to a room, Allison went downstairs with Lucian’s wallet to pay. She took out the money from his wallet and suddenly saw a picture inside 

The picture showed four people. 

All of them were young Allison immediately recognized Lucian He appeared to be around seventeen in the picture. He was wearing a white shirt, had simple short hair, and was smiling brightly Next to him was a sweet girl, and beside them, two other boys in white shirts. 

Lucian had an acute gastritis attack. After getting an IV, he fell into a doze 

His face was covered in sweat. He was in pain, but he didn’t make a sound. 

Allison sat by his side, took out a tissue, and wiped his face. As her fingertips brushed over the contour of his brow, she noticed a small scar 

She had never noticed it before 

Her finger lightly traced over the scar on his brow 

She caressed the scar. It was faint, seemingly from years ago. 

She adjusted his blanket and sat down on a chair next to the bed. It was the emergency department on the third floor, and there weren’t many people receiving an IV at night. It was just Lucian and Allison 

Lucian finished his IV around two in the morning. However, he continued to rest with a furrowed brow, as if the pain in his stomach hadn’t eased. Allison used warm water to soothe his stomach and stayed by his side. 

Until the early morning 

During this time, his phone rang once. 

It was a call from Penelope 

Lucian opened his eyes. The first rays of morning light filtered through the pure white curtains. He moved a little.. 

The golden light shone on her face. Allison was lying at the side of the bed, resting her head on his arm. This position didn’t seem comfortable for her to maintain all night. so she was frowning slightly, but her breathing was still steady 

Lucian watched her 

The atmosphere in the morning was particularly warm and quiet. 

Allison seemed to blend in with this gentleness and tranquility, like a sprite that had descended to Earth. Lucian just watched her, a calm feeling he had never experienced before slowly rising from deep within him. 

His deep, unfathomable eyes suddenly had a human warmth to them. His slender fingers reached out and lightly lifted the hair on her cheek, gently tucking it behind her ear 

Allison only felt a tickle on her cheek. She opened her eyes and met his gaze 

There was a moment of surprise in Allison’s eyes, but she quickly regained her calm, “Mr. Lindberg, since you’re awake, I’ll take my leave.”
