Chapter 31

Jace's POV

It's been about a week since my mate was taken from us. I have wolves out searching for her and her whereabouts but so far no one has found any useful information. Every lead we seem to get always ends up being a dead end. Lilith grows more and more everyday I know she misses her mother seeing as she seems to calm down when she sleeps or holds the one stuffed animal Skylar always had on her for some reason and I guess I now know why she did that since Lily was born for this exact situation. Even being so far away from us she is still taking care of her family the best way she could. Lily is only a few months old but there is something different and special about her that's making her literally grow and develop much faster then your average werewolf pup. I called the pack doctor to run some tests and to make sure everything was fine with her. Hopefully we can figure out what is going on with her. While we wait for the results of the tests I get back to work on trying to fortify and secure the pack house and the territory so that nothing like this ever happens again to anyone else. One of the things I decided to do to protect everyone was having a very high tech security system installed and had cameras placed all over the pack house and all around the borders with motion sensors and night vision. I have increased our border patrols and have been training all the warriors even more making sure that they are ready for anything and everything. I have half of my warriors patrolling in wolf form around the entire border and have about 20 warriors patrolling the house and nearby grounds in their human forms with guns that have silver bullets laced with wolfsbane just as a precaution.

Everyday I try to mind link with Skylar but all I ever get back is static noise or nothing but silence and darkness. I regret ever leaving her alone, I should have been here to protect her. I feel like I am losing my mind without her and the only thing keeping me sane is Lilith who looks so much like her mother which comforts me greatly.

"You know if you were here to protect her you might have died and they still would have taken her and then our daughter would have been left all alone without either one of you. At least she has you to look after her and care for her and love her and protect her while we look and try to get our mate back’ Azazel my wolf chimes in

'I know I just don't know what to do without her. I love and miss her so much that it feels like my hearts gonna give out from the feelings of heartache, loneliness, longing, and emptiness that I'm feeling without her by my side." I cry out in my mind to him knowing he feels the same way. I slump to the floor outside Lilith's room crying, longing for Skylar, my mate, me love, my soulmate, and mother of my child. I just want to hold her, kiss her, smell her, touch her soft skin, and just hold her tightly in my arms again and never ever let her go or let her leave my side or sight ever again.

I sit there for a little while before I hear Lilith cry out for me. I get up wipe my face and walk in and pick her up and hold her close as I coo at her to calm her down. I knew she missed her mother just as much as I did which made me even more determined to find Sky not only for me but for our daughter who needs her mother. As I am holding Lily and giving her a bottle I get a mind link form the doctor.

“Alpha we have gotten the results for the tests we did on Lily and we need to talk right away’ Doctor Ramsay tells me a little worriedly.

I'll be there right away doctor’ I reply

As I'm holding and Lilith I walk around the pack house until I finally find Amber and Lucy sitting in the living room with the twins. They were all cuddled up on the couch together and I could tell that they all had a thing for one another which makes me smile. As I walk further into the room they all notice me and look at me as they all blush in unison making me laugh at their embarrassment.

"Hey I need you guys to all watch Lilith while I go and talk to the pack doctor about what's been going on with Lilith" I tell them

"Sure not a problem Alpha we love spending time with her" Lucy and Amber say in unison

I kiss Lily on the forehead before giving her to the girls and the twins. I make my way to the pack hospital and to Doctor Ramsay's office. I knock once and hear him call me in so as I enter his office and take a seat in one of the chairs that were in front of his desk.

"As you know your daughter has been growing and developing rather quickly” he says to me. I nod my head to him acknowledging what he was saying.

"It seems that since you are an alpha and your mate is a Hell Hound it seems to have enhanced and accelerated her growth cells. There is something else I had found in her system that seems to have been the catalyst that started this phenomenon.” He tells me concern and worry clear as day in his voice and face.

"What is it that you had found in her to have made this happen.” I ask curiously

"It seems that she has vampire venom and blood in her. Normally this would hurt or even kill a werewolf pup but since she is special it isn't harming her but helping her which would explain why she has been growing so quickly.” Doctor Ramsay explains

Concern and worry and anger flow through me at the thought of this. "How long do you think that the venom and blood have been in her system?" I demand

“If 1 had to guess I would say that it has been in her system for about a week I believe. Has anything happened in the last 2 weeks where she could've been effected?” Dr. Ramsay asks

"Skylar's kidnapping, ever since that day which was about a week ago she's been growing." I tell him

"My guess is that whoever took her also injected the venom and blood into your daughter before they left probably thinking it would kill your pup and hurt you more. No one could've predicted that the opposite would happen without knowing what your mate is." He replies back to me

"So where do we go from here doctor?" I ask curiously

"There isn't much we can do but keep an eye on her and keep track of her progress.” He says back sadly

I thank and leave the doctors office but before I head back to the house I let the twins know that I was going for a run to come to terms with what I was told about my baby girl. I run all over my territory and I killed 2 rogues that were lingering around watching us. After about 2 hours of running and killing I head back to the house to shower and change before joining everyone in the living room.
