Sorry for the late update, again. But my dumbass self doesn't schedule chapters every before hand for some reason and I always forget to update chapters myself. My bad, but here you go....

Upgrade?

“You have more childr…?” I asked but was interrupted by Hades.

“You’re late,” he said.

“She got lost and you can’t really blame her, can you?” Persephone answered on my behalf.

“Well, we need to go for,” Hades started speaking but was cut off by Persephone.

“No work before she eats.” She said leaving no room for discussion.

Hades sighed and let us walk into the dining room and Persephone served me breakfast. It was a plate full of pancakes with maple syrup.

I smiled. I loved pancakes almost as much as I loved cake, and I think we have already established my love for cake. I thanked her and started eating. A servant comes in and asks for Persephone. Persephone gives me a last smile before leaving with her.

I quickly finished my breakfast, feeling the urge and irritation of Hades oozing out of him. Seeing me finished, he motions me to follow him and I do just that.

“So, what are we doing today?” I asked him on the way.

“Upgrading your wolf,” he stated blankly.

“Care to elaborate?” I asked raising a brow. What the hell does he mean by ‘upgrading my wolf’?

“No I absolutely do not.”

“C’mon! You can’t just say something like that and leave it. What do you mean?”

“I mean exactly that,” he looked at me, rolled his eyes, and continued.

“Well, when I made the deal I did not expect a teen wolf. I hoped it was your mother due to various reasons. Now that I have you I need you to have some powers to make this work. Even though you have your wolf and can shift, your wolf still does not have a lot of powers that she would if she were mature enough. So I’m doing a little something to mature your wolf faster.” He explained.

“Will that harm me or my wolf?”

“No, I’m doing nothing but speeding up the process. Your wolf would just grow faster than it normally should have.”

“Okay then.”

We were quiet for the rest of our journey. He led me out of the palace and walked towards one of the towers beside it. He opened a door and we climbed a bunch of stairs that finally led to a room. He went inside and nodded towards a woman. She smiled at me and shook my hand.

“Hi sweetie, I’m Gabriella and I’ll be upgrading your wolf. Take a seat and I’ll be right with you.” She said and then went to Hades with a small tube. I sat on a chair and observed them.

It looked like they linked or did something like that and then Hades murmured something. His eyes glowed gold and the content in the tube changed colour. After that, she poured the liquid into a syringe and walked towards me.

“So I’m going to inject this potion is your body and it might sting a little. You may feel drowsy or restless wanting to let your wolf out. After this potion is injected, I’ll sedate you so that you don’t have to feel that restlessness. You’ll be asleep for a few hours before you wake up. Is that okay?” she explained and I nodded.

She injected the potion into my body and I felt it’s power rushing through my body. My senses heightened to the point that I couldn’t make out anything in my surroundings. My wolf suddenly felt extremely restless and pushed me to shift. Suddenly, the sedative kicked in and I felt my eyes drooping and the world going black.

I groaned as I felt my body ache and I felt tired even though I just woke up. I slowly completely regained consciousness and I could start to feel the new strength in me. My wolf felt so much more powerful. I opened my eyes and took in my surroundings. I was lying in my bed at the castle.

“You’re awake!” the all too familiar voice of Persephone said.

“Hey, how do you feel?” Gabriella, I think that was her name, said.

“My body still aches but I feel stronger,” I replied.

“Good, that’s perfectly fine. Now I want you to eat something as you must be exhausted and then go back to sleep. By tomorrow, your body will be completely set into the new power.

I sat up slowly and Persephone got me a plate of dinner, I assume it’s dinner but I can’t really make what time it is since it’s always dark here. I ate it and laid back down. Exhaustion kicked in and I immediately fell asleep.
