I already called Isabel some hours ago to tell her about the plans of today and I had my her to protect her ss I refused to make what happened before happen again.

I have failed to protect her twice and I’d be darned if I let it happen for the third time so I had men watch and guard her place.

I drove to my place to take my bath and change as I had to be at the venue before Isabel. I couldn’t wait to make things. official tonight and right. I cannot wait to ask her to get married to me and for us to start a new life together.

For years we have planned to be together but life happened. Although life happened, things are starting to fall back into place and it felt great.

Sometimes life goes your way and some other times it doesn’t but I was glad that it was starting to go the way I planned and I don’t intend to waste any more time.

As soon as I got home, I headed straight to the shower. After showering. I got dressed and prepared to meet Isabel.

1 had taken less than an hour to prepare because I didn’t have much time on my side. I got into my car and drove towards the venue where I was to meet with Diane.

I reached the venue shortly and there Raymond was waiting for me.

“The men called and they’ve done as you’ve asked. Jade and her dad are gone and they’ve properly gotten rid of the body.” Raymond informed me the minute I arrived.

I nodded my head in response. I only felt good things coming my way now that they were gone. I could smell goodness already and I couldn’t wait to embrace it.

-“Here it is.” Raymond handed the red velvet box containing the engagement ring to me.

I took the box from his hand and opened it to see the jewel I got for my woman.

“I cannot wait for tonight.” I uttered in happiness.

“I know how long you have been looking forward to this day and I’m honestly happy for you. I only want the best for you and I cannot wait for the new start for you.” Raymond uttered.

“Thank you,” I replied, placing my hand on his shoulder to tell him how grateful I was that he was by myself. I couldn’t have asked for anyone better.

Raymond has been the best human for me and I only wish him the best life has to offer.

I waited patiently for Isabel and shortly she came looking like an angel she was dressed in the blue dinner gown I sent over for her that fitted her perfectly while accentuating her curves.

She had the twins by her side and she had dressed them in the outfit I sent, a matching outfit of what I was wearing-

The start of a new life for me and I couldn’t wait for it. I wanted to start it already.

I walked toward her, leaned down to look at my kids, and kissed them both on their heads and foreheads before standing back up to look at her.

“Thank you for coming,” I said and I didn’t fail to notice how she blushed hard.

“You look amazing. You all look amazing.” I said to them all and she blushed hard.

“Thank you. You look handsome too,” she replied.

I took her finger and placed a kiss on the back of her palm

I took Ethan’s hand while she took Emma’s hand and we walked towards the table I made Raymond set.

I pulled back the seats for her and then for the kids before going to take my seat. The maids came and served the food before leaving,

“You did put in a lot of work for this and I’m proud,” she complimented making me happy.

“I was kind of nervous that you might not like it and considering that a lot happened this week, I wasn’t sure how to go about it and I was nervous. I honestly confessed to her.

“To tell you the truth, I haven’t slept in days. I just couldn’t sleep from worries and the thought of today and for the first time in a long time I was nervous.” I explained.

“I have been fine too. It hasn’t been the same ever since that incident and I can’t close my eyes for long without thinking of the worse although I know there are men around,” she confessed too and it was something I expected.

That was a traumatizing memory and the fact our kids got involved made it worse. I don’t go a day without calling my men to check on them every thirty minutes if I wasn’t with them.

“The past few days haven’t been easy if he is honest with you. It has been crazy. I don’t close my eyes without seeing images of how I was taken. It’s just so hard and no matter how hard I try not to think about it, I just cannot help it.” She explained.

I smiled. “It’s all thanks to you at the end of the day because if you had not accepted me then we wouldn’t be here isn’t it? So thank you, Isabel. Thank you for giving me a chance.”

She didn’t say anything in return but she smiled instead.

We continued to eat in silence but now and then, we’d stare at each other and smile. I felt at ease eating with them. I engaged my children in conversation and they seem to look forward to the outings I’ve prepared.

It was a different feeling when I conversed with my kids. I’d love to do it every day with them and I know soon, I’d wake up in a house where they were and I couldn’t wait for them.

The night was fun. We spoke, laughed and played games and when I realized that it was time for me to propose to Isabel, I gave the maids a sign and the room light changed color and on a big screen “Will you marry me Isabel’ appeared.

I didn’t fail to notice the surprised look on Isabel’s face when she saw the message on the big screen.

She gasped in surprise.

I stood up from my seat and walked towards her, the red velvet box in my pocket as I walked towards her.

“Isabel Payne. From the moment I knew that you were mine, I haven’t thought of anyone else but you. I have loved you. from the moment I set my eyes on you. I have wanted you and not anyone else. The past few years haven’t been the best. I hurt you in the past but now I’m ready to make amends.” I paused to take a deep breath.

“Four years ago, I failed to protect you. Four years ago I shattered your heart and it shattered me too. You don’t know how happy I am that you are giving me this chance. I am happy that you have decided to come.”

“Thank you for giving birth to the two most amazing kids ever. Thank you for being strong and taking care of them. Thank you for protecting them. Thank you for all you’ve been doing for the past four years. You are the best woman out there and I don’t see myself with another.”

“Isabel Payne. Will you do me the honors and make me the rhetorical happiest man on earth by accepting to be my wife?” I asked, waiting patiently for her response.
