ISABEL

“So you are back with your baby daddy?” Adeline asked.

“Not like we are back but yes, he’s back in my life. He’s going to get to know his kids while trying to court me again.” I answered.

“Wow. I’m speechless. Is your wolf fine with that?” She asked and I shrugged.

“Yes, she is. I mean we were both hurt but Logan is sincere about his feelings. He did what he did because he wanted to protect me and that’s it. I have decided to give us a chance again while taking my time.” I answered.

“What about his wife?” She asked.

They divorced. They are no longer together.” I answered.

“Alright, that’s good but I’m still worried about it but we shall see how it goes. Jade according to how you’ve described this woman I’ve never seen, she’s not an easy person and I’d she’s obsessed with Logan, why did she divorce him?”

Hearing those words from Adeline made me wonder. She just stated a point. Jade would do anything to have Logan and the last time we saw them, she almost pulled my hair off so what did Logan use against her for her to divorce him? Did they divorce on good terms and was she at peace with it?

I don’t know but I don’t want to be bothered by that,” I said but inside of me, I was bothered by it.

My response to not wanting to be bothered was that I didn’t want to be bothered and wanted to be happy.

“Alright then. If you are fine with it then as your best friend, I will support you. I wish you the best.” She said, opening her arms for a hug

I moved closer to her and wrapped my arms around her. “Thanks so much, Adeline.”

“So the kids are bonding with their father already? Wow. This is good for them growing up and the fact they already bonde with him before you came the other night just proves how blood is indeed thicker than water.”

“I know right? They were happy to see their father and for now, am thinking of how to explain the whole situation to Leah. I just don’t know how,” I sighed.

“Don’t worry. You’d do so and she’d understand. It’s just going to be a little complicated but trust me when I say it will be fine.” Adeline assured me.

Adeline and I ended up talking about something else. It’s always fun talking to her and there was never a time we had no conversation to talk about. I didn’t know for how long we spoke but I heard my doorbell ring and I knew that it was Logan and the kids.

The thought of Logan only made my heart race. I had to keep it cool and not make him think I was completely in love with him once again although I am but I needed to act tough now.

I opened the door and my kids ran into my arms.

“Mummy.” I hugged them both as they held me firmly.

They haven’t been gone for a day but I missed them so much.

“Hi,” Logan said as he stepped into my house.

“Hi,” I replied, avoiding eye contact.

I stood back on my feet as Adeline walked towards me. She folded her arms across her chest while glaring at Logan and I knew why she was doing that.

I tried my best not to laugh

“I’m sure you do remember me, don’t you?” Adeline said.

“Yes. How can I forget the lady who threatened me if I dared hug her friend? Logan replied.

“Good. Since you do, you don’t want me reminding you that I won’t tolerate it if you hurt my friend. I’m not a nice person. You can offend me and I will forgive you but if you offend my friend, not just my friend but my best friend, I won’t forgive you” She warned and I was trying my best not to laugh out loud.

“You can rest assured that I won’t hurt her. I love Isabel and I won’t want to lose her again. Nothing in this world would make me sacrifice what I had for her again so you don’t have to worry and trust me that your friend is in good hands. He replied making my heart melt even more.

“Alright. Words are easier but actions are the real deal. I won’t be judging because of words because it doesn’t matter but when it’s time to prove it, I’d need to see what if is that you can do for my friend, is that clear?” She stated.

“Yes. You don’t have to worry. Isabel is in good hands and I won’t give you a reason to think I don’t deserve another chance with her. I won’t just use my words but my actions would tell too He replied.

“Good then. I’m guessing I’d just have to wait and see but for the meantime, I’d take the twins with me into the room while I give you both privacy to speak. Adeline said before turning to wink at me.

I honestly didn’t want to laugh but at that moment I couldn’t help it and I laughed. Adeline didn’t pay attention to me and walked away without turning to lose back.

“Well, that was one moment. How are you?” Logan asked.

“I’ve been good. How was your day out with the twins, I mean as their father? Was it fun?” I asked as we walked towards the living room to take a seat and talk.

“I haven’t felt so happy continuously for days. I’m really happy to get to know them and you did a nice job raising them. They made it easy for me and I love spending time with them. I could do that for years if it was a job and I can’t wait to keep spending more time with them and getting to know them better He answered.

“Well, it seems the first day as a father went well. I’m glad you had a great day. I told him sincerely.

“Thanks so much for having the twins Isabel. I cannot begin to tell you how grateful I am for what you have done in my absence and I look forward to making things right with you. I love you.” He said.

He doesn’t ruin any chance of confessing his love for me but I cannot reply to him because I am not sure yet if I still felt that same way for him.

It was true that I still had feelings for him that’s why I accepted him but I haven’t allowed myself to fall in love.

“Ethan is so much like me while Emma is so much like you. It was just like we’ve always imagined. A girl like you and a boy like ine. Seeing Ethan was like watching myself grow. I’m so happy that I cannot explain how excited I am.” He said with a smile on his face.

“I can tell from the look of your face that you are indeed happy. I’m glad you enjoyed your day with them and don’t worry, in time we’d take turns when they’d get to sleep over at yours and when they’d stay over at mine, what do you think?” 1 suggested.
