Apart from being pale and skinny, the face in front of her was pretty attractive.

Even Yvette, as a woman, could not help but marvel at his long eyelashes, smooth skin, well-defined facial features, and s**y lips.

The more she stared at him, the more naughty thoughts flashed across her mind. The next moment, she could not help but stretch out her hand to poke Joshua’s face twice and quickly retracted her hand as if she had done something wrong.

Thinking that the man next to her would not respond, she smiled triumphantly and reached out her hand, wreaking havoc on his face.

She did not only rub his face, but she also pinched his nose. Lastly, she traced the line of his lips with her fingertips, feeling happy that she could do whatever she wanted with him

“It is difficult to find such an obedient husband like him, she mused.

“Did your mother speak ill of me just now?”

Yvene imitated the fierce wives on TV and threatened in a low voice, “Don’t listen to her, and you aren’t allowed to speak for her. Do you understand? Answer me honestly. Let’s say your mother and I fell into the water. Who would you save first? If you dare to save your mother first, I’m going to divorce you,”

With that said, she burst out laughing. It was so much fun to mess with someone who could not resist.

Tomorrow is my first day of school, so I won’t be able to accompany you during the day. Ill ask the ser vant to read the book to you. If you feel bored, Ill bring the TV in and let it entertain you. The TV wont blame you for ignoring it anyway. However, your mother told me to come back to keep you company at night. Well, I don’t mind. It’s a good thing that we can keep each other company and continue to chat like this. Who knows? Maybe we can become best friends.”

However, she was the only person who talked in the room the whole time. The person on the bed gave her no response at

all.

Yet, Yvette thought it was fun to talk like that. Without her realizing it, she had told him a lot of things.

On that silent night, no one bothered them, and she did not have to worry about others’ opinions of her.

The person beside her listened to her quietly and would not interrupt her, nor would he quarrel with her.

She talked about Towell Croup’s bankruptcy as she sat by the bed. She mentioned getting forced out of her house by the bank and being homeless. Besides that, she also told the man how Nathan and Hendrick bullied her. While saying that, she could not control her emotions any longer and burst into tears.

She rambled in tears while lying on Joshua’s chest, staining her tears and sn ot on his expensive pajamas.

In the end, she still felt dissatisfied. So, she extended her hand and pinched Joshua hard on his arm.

“It’s so nice to have a free punching bag under my name!” she exclaimed men tally,

No matter how much she hit and scolded him, the man on the bed would not be able to do anything to her.

“What do you think I should do in the future? Should I continue to stay at your house? There’s nothing bad about staying at your house. I won’t need to worry about starving, and I’ll also get to wear fashionable clothes. It’s the same as when I used to stay at the Towell residence. There’s a problem, though. No one gives me money. Perhaps they assume that I don’t go out and won’t need to spend money. I heard that you used to be in charge of the Luxford Group, and you were quite powerful. What happened to all of your money? Didn’t you have a piggy bank?”

Yvette’s spirits suddenly improved when she talked about money. Just a momem ago, she felt sleepy and was about to fall asleep, but now, the drowsiness had vanished instantly. Pointing at Joshua, she asked furiously. “Did you give your mother all your cards and money behind my back? You only care about your mother!”

As she spoke, she viciously pinched Joshua’s thigh twice..

After venting her anger, she felt much better and lay on his chest while muttering. “Actually, your mother is a good person.”

Once she finished speaking, she remained motionless and fell asleep. It was as though all energy had gotten drained from her body.
