Case 15: The Undead Victim

Early in the morning, Dr. Stellar enter the autopsy room, wondering what unfortunate soul lay on his table, he left his belongings near his working desk and put on his Lab coat and stare at the chart of the victim.

“You poor woman, rape, slash on the stomach and choke to death; don’t worry my dear, I will fix you in no time and wonder who your killer is, justice will be serve” said Dr. Stellar to the dead body of a young woman

When he is getting ready, the body of the woman rise in a sitting position, and then she turns her head to the good Doctor. Dr. Stellar turns around and with a loud gasp he let go of the scalpel, looking at the perfectly heal and alive victim.

Later that same day, Aron enters to his office desk, Titania and Otto are there talking about the next case they had, last week.

Is been Two months that the war with the Black Sorcerer ended and everything was back to normal, well mostly, Scarlet refuse to become a field agent, she likes more to work under the shadows, that is more her style, so Aron didn’t argue.

He bid his good morning to Titania and Otto, then he proceed to the Forensic Lab, to see if they have anything new in hand, Otto follow him, he wanted to know how the two night owls are.

When they arrived, the Lab is completely silence, not a single sound was heard as Aron and Otto walk in the silent room, then a hand pound on the table making Otto scream like a little girl and startle Aron, putting him on a fighting stance, then a woman rise up from the side of the table, some of her lose hair stands covering half of her face, then another hand pounded on the other side, a man with dark circles underneath his eyes were spotted.

“You are a Dragon for Christ sake, and got scare by a zombie Dragon?” ask Aron at Otto

“She scare the s**t out of me, beside isn’t that your mate?” ask Otto

“I smell coffee” said the women, Aron knows as his girlfriend

“Well Good morning to you too, Love” said Aron

“Coffee” said Scarlet waltzing her way toward Aron

Scarlet grabs Aron’s coffee and drink it in one shot, Aron and Otto were both surprise, one Scarlet hates black coffee and two no gaging reflex on the drinking hot liquids, after she finish it, Scarlet look at Aron and return his empty cup, Aron chuckle and toss the empty cup in the trash bin.

“So you’ve been here all night with Nicolas and leave me and my bed empty-” said Aron

“Yesterday, we slept together yesterday Aron” interrupted Scarlet

“That was a week ago, Love” grunted Aron

“Whatever” said Scarlet heading to her desk

She grabs a bag and heads to the elevator, Aron question where she was heading since the day started, she grumble that she is heading to the showers and get herself woken up, with that she left the Lab.

Nicolas rub his forehead together in order to wake up and later shower after Scarlet, in that moment Titania enter the Lab in large steps, she reach the group with urgent on her face.

“Guys we have a victim” said Titania

Nicolas groan a loud ‘no’ as he walks away from the group, the three of them look at him, Titania was about to question what happen to him, but Aron raise his hand to her and Otto shake his head, letting her know to not ask, they return their attention to Titania’s statement.

“Where is the Victim?” ask Aron

“In the Autopsy room, Dr. Stellar is going to bring her here right now” inform Titania

The elevator open revealing a woken up and refresh Scarlet as she fast walk to her desk, although her dark circles under her eyes didn’t left, leaving her desk and putting back her Lab coat, Nicolas didn’t waste time, he grabs his bag and headed toward the showers, in that moment the elevator open with Dr. Stellar and the victim. They walk toward the group of agents and a Forensic; he puts the girl in one of the chairs and walks toward the group.

“What we got?” said Scarlet

“Her name is Brenda Ortiz, she is a Master’s degree college student in X university, there is not much on the report that she was rape and kill in the scene of the crime, but when I was about to make the autopsy on the poor girl she just rose up and look at me” explain Dr. Stellar

Scarlet grab some of the gloves and stood in front of the girl, she just stare at her, she was about to reach her, but notice she is flinching at every movement she does.

“Hello Brenda, my name is Scarlet Walker, I am a Scientist, but I need to see if you aren’t hurt anywhere, now I am going to cheek you, don’t worry I am not going to touch you unless you are sure ok?” Explain Scarlet

Brenda nods her respond, then Scarlet proceed her examination, she cheek her eyes, that they were moving in the direction her finger is going and that her pupils were dilating properly , then her ear sight, she cheek her mouth and vocal cores, in the end she finish with her touch sight. Scarlet used her Dragon senses to check on her.

“Well?” Ask Otto

“Well there isn’t anything wrong with her, physically speaking, but there is a faint smell of pine wood, and if you guys see with your Dragons eyes, you could see faint scratch marks and dirt on her torso and arms, other than that, there is nothing wrong with her” said Scarlet

“Then why doesn’t she talk?” ask Titania

“We could take some blood test and DNA to see what she is first, then the rest should be able to decipher with the results” said Scarlet

Team nods, Dr. Stellar walk toward the girl, he told her that everything is going to be ok. Scarlet started to draw blood from her, when she finish Brenda stood up and then she moved a chair more to the right, Scarlet notice her small action, as she was a child, then she removed some plastic pipes that were in the way, she pour them near a wall, lastly she return to the chair she was sitting on.

Scarlet was about to question her small rearrange when Nicolas enter the lab, that is when Scarlet realize what would had happen to him if all the stuff would be the way they were, after the machine sound the complete of the analysis, Nicolas went to grab the result of her blood test.

“Scarlet, this DNA blood test indicated that the victim is-” said Nicolas

“Is an Oracle” interrupted Scarlet looking at Brenda

Later on Aron came to the lab, he sees that Brenda is wearing Scarlet’s clothing, as she finish to grabs some paper and some case fields, as he place his bag in the nearest table, he walk toward her, then Scarlet made a fast turn with her nails enlarge, ready to scratch the face of the intruder, Aron grabs her wrist with a surprise look on his face, he notice the electric current between her fingers.

“Jesus Christ Scarlet, are you trying to shock me to death?” ask Aron with a little amusement on his voice

“Not funny Aron” said Scarlet yanking her wrist from Aron’s hand

“Why are you on guard? Is not like I am going to attack you? Unless is in the bedroom” said Aron

“First, that is a private matter, second at all, Brenda is no ordinary human” said Scarlet

When Aron is about to ask the reason, the others came in, surprising Scarlet once again and she made a black wind slash, making them dodge her attack, Titania’s eyes widen.

“Are you crazy?! That is twice today Scarlet!!!” said Otto raising up from the ground

They sat down in a distance in case that Scarlet lose it again, even Aron was on edge by his girlfriend actions, Scarlet is pacing around, trying to find the words to tell them what she has found, even she told Nicolas to go home, because she doesn’t want to hurt him.

“Scarlet you are getting me dizzy, can you please get to the point?” ask Titania

“I don’t know how to explain it” said Scarlet

“Start by telling me, what do you mean that Brenda isn’t a normal human?” said Aron

“Ok, When we got Brenda’s DNA tested, she made some small changes to the Lab, after she moved some simple things, Nicolas shows up, that is when it hit me, Brenda is an Oracle” explain Scarlet

“A what?” ask Otto

“I only encounter one back when I was training in Japan. An Oracle is a human that can predict the future, that is why the reason she can’t talk, whatever her prediction may be, she might blur it out, unless is something positive” said Scarlet

“Ok, but that doesn’t explain why she was dead and now alive” ask Titania

“That is the other thing, Brenda is an immortal human, because her oracle powers, no matter what she will returns time back in her body, well depending in how damage her body has, is like she can control the time that passes on her body, she can either fast forward it, or turn back time to the point she can become a toddler, but that is only mentally speaking, not physically” Scarlet grab her medical chart “Look, in her chart said that Brenda Ortiz is 28 years old, but I made some simple mental games and her mind is at the age of 4 to 5 years old” said Scarlet

Aron sigh, looking around to find a solution “So what do you suggest?” ask Aron

“Someone has to stay with her and guard her until she is in her current age, which would be in 23 days” said Scarlet

They draw some sticks in order to see how is the first person to take her and guard her, then Brenda stood up and walks toward Otto, she pull his coat like a kid asking for her father permission, then they agree that Otto should be the one to guard Brenda, he is alone, but no one would dare come after the Bronze Dragon, especially when he is on his territory, she will be safe for the next 23 days until she has her full age.

After they decide her security, Scarlet told them, and look directly in Otto’s eyes, to bring her back to the Lab for further questions, to know who attack her and why?

They process to take her, Titania took a hold on her shoulders and guide her out the exit, to Otto’s car, Scarlet, Aron and Otto surrounded them in case someone attack her, Scarlet also explain to them, that and Oracle is rare in this occasion, that someone would wanted her for evil purpose, so they have to protect her with everything they got.

Scarlet is working on her computer, Aron got out of the showers and walk toward her, he sat down behind her as she types away, he grabs Brenda case field and started to analyze the conditions she was found.

“According to the report, there was an eye whiteness that claim to have seen a big men taking the victim into the woods, he follow them and saw how they were tearing her pants off and «having fun» with her as she remains silent, but with tearful eyes crying; this doesn’t make sense, she could have taken another path and avoid been caught” said Aron wondering

“Oracles can determent someone’s future, but not their own, otherwise it would become a taboo for them” answer Scarlet

Scarlet stop typing and turns to Aron with a frown on her face

“Where exactly said that they found her?” ask Scarlet

Aron look at the field

“In the woods” answer her

Scarlet look at the field and stood up “Let’s go”

Aron stood up and follow Scarlet to the garage, they ride Aron’s car to the location of the crime scene.

Once they arrived, Scarlet stood up near the area, she looks around, it is the middle of the night, but for two Dragons their eye sight is clear as the day time, Scarlet look at Aron’s golden eyes as he sees her purple color eyes, they walk over the area, they look that there was nothing in the place, Scarlet turns around.

“OK, If I was an Oracle with not warning that this might happen to me, I would be walking this area and toward that direction” said Scarlet tracing Brenda’s steps

“The question is how would the attacker would charge at me?” ask Scarlet

Aron looks around and notice some male tracks behind Scarlet’s positions, he went to the direction and simulate to be the attacker

“He would had come in a place where you would pass, but not see, then he would silently charge behind you” said Aron simulation been the attacker

“Right, Oracles don’t fight back due to their physical strength, so all I could do it trash around” Scarlet started to struggle in Aron’s arms

“Ok, then I would have dragged you to the woods, with your mouth cover in case you would scream” Aron drag Scarlet to the woods

As Aron drag Scarlet’s body, he notice that he couldn’t drag her to a small cliff otherwise they would both fall and Scarlet could escape from him, then they wonder how the suspect would drag her completely down, in union they claim that the suspect would had jump down, so Aron jump down landing on the ground with Scarlet in his arms.

“Ok we are down now what you would, as the suspect do in order to rape me, the victim?” ask Scarlet

Aron look around

“Hold on, I jump down, I could had jump down and then pin you on the ground” said Aron

Scarlet lay down and Aron pin her down in a very promising position, making him feel hot and very turn on, his m*****d started to t***b, badly.

Scarlet smack his head making him focused as the perp, after that they look around to see what they could figure out so far.

“Ok as the report say that the witness follows them to a place where they could not see them” said Scarlet

Aron stood up with a painful e******n and place himself in different areas, until he found one that it was perfect and there were footprints in the area like someone stranded there for a long time, he mark the area with a yellow ribbon indicating the position, he return to his previous position on top of Scarlet.

“The witness is watching us, that would had mean that the suspect might have heard a branch twitch or a sudden move that the witness made, alarming the suspect, therefore I might need a way out. Firstly, I need to kill the victim so she doesn’t talk” said Aron

He pretended to have kill Scarlet and Scarlet pretended to be dead, she Stood up in order to follow Aron’s next move, Aron look around and then jump on the right side further more to the woods, then he stood up where he jump from. They both look around, Scarlet found a piece of string, she use her pincers and grab it to the evidence envelope, they continue to walk, then Aron notice a white substance, he call out to Scarlet in order to grab some sample from it, she does that with a kit she has on her bag.

“Ok, if this substance turns blue, it would mean that this is DNA from the perp” said Scarlet

“I thought that he finish on our victim?” ask Aron

“It might had been, but there was p**-**m inside the victim, if this matches with the one in the Lab, then we have a rapist on the lose, not to mention, we can charge him with murder” said Scarlet collecting samples and verifying the substance

“I see he doesn’t know that Brenda is still alive, therefore she can identify him” said Aron

“Yes, but we first have to find the DNA match of this s***n otherwise, we are walking to a dead end. First we must find out what our perp is, obviously is not human, if he was, he wouldn’t have made that jump and land without getting hurt” said Scarlet finishing up

They walk back to the car

“Right, if he was human, we could had smell the scent of blood, but there is not a single scent of it” said Aron

“The only thing I could smell is wood and Brenda’s scent, but I couldn’t smell anything else, also there is a faint smell of death in the area too, very faint” said Scarlet

They arrive in the car and headed back home, taking a bath and laying on the bed, Aron wrap his arm across Scarlet’s body, feeling her sweet scent, Scarlet cuddle on Aron’s bare chest taking his masculine, dominant, Dragon scent, as they both drift off to sleep.

The next morning, Aron walk inside the bedroom with some coffee in hand, placing her mug near the bedside table, Scarlet woke up with the smell and took a long sip, well she finish it off in one gulp.

After they took a bath and got ready, they headed to the Agency, Aron told Scarlet to head inside as he goes find the witness, Scarlet left to the Lab, she sees Otto pull over and park her car with Brenda on the passenger sit.

“I thought that maybe she could stay near us all the time” said Otto

Scarlet nods at them and guided Brenda back to the Lab.

Later on Dr. Stellar came down to the Lab to check up on her, he made sure that her vital and her senses are 100% O.K., Scarlet continue to map, different routes that the perp, could had use to leave, then she proceed to analyze the evidence that was found in the crime scene.

The elevator sounded, Aron came to the Lab in hopes to get good news from Scarlet, but when he enters, he stops mid track, he notice a horrible and disgusting smell, that made him cringe, bad. He continue to walk toward her, with goose bumps all over his skin, once he is on her side, he took a whip of her scent just to be meet with that disgusting smell.

“What the hell? Are you trying to make Dragon repellent, because it is working?” said Aron as he cough

“Very funny, it also happens that when I went to the evidence room to collect some samples on a second case from another team, the «thing» (the one with the Troll case in the begging of the book/ Case #1) fell from the box over me, I had taken a shower ten time for the stink to leave my skin, the clothing is another issue, aside from that there is something that doesn’t fit for me, there is no blood in the crime, there is dry blood from the victim on the dirt we collected, and the s***m that we found, belong to the perp that rape her, there is only one problem” said Scarlet walking toward her desk

“I don’t like this ‘problem’ of yours and that is?” said Aron mumble to himself as he follows her to her desk

Scarlet grab a piece of paper and gave it to him

“Is the same s***m sample in another case, which happens to be Brenda’s sister-in-law, I think our killer is someone that has to be involve with Brenda’s Brother” said Scarlet

Aron stare at the white board in the middle of his desk area looking for any connections with Brenda’s brother and the killer.

Titania walk toward him and sat close to Aron, the case seam simple, but is actually dangerous, firstly Brenda is an Oracle, she would be in grave danger is someone found out about her, so they have to be careful in the questions they have to say or ask, second of all, for the entire living world, believe that Brenda is dead, that includes her family, and finally, if they reveal that Brenda is alive, the killer could try again and that is a risk that neither him or anyone would not take.

“Anything new?” ask Aron to Titania

“We found evidence that Brenda’s Sister-in-law was missing six months ago, the report was summit by the husband. According to the report, she left the house around 7:30 am toward her job, they had lunch together, and that is the last time he saw her. He also mention that she kind of felt that someone was watching her and that feeling wasn’t a stalker type kind of feeling” reported Titania

Aron cross his hands on his chest and took a deep sigh, then Otto came toward them, he took the look of a bit pity and he could feel that Aron is restless, not to mention he could feel the burning heat of anger coming in waves from him.

Otto was about to turn around and leave, but was stop by Aron’s command, Otto fast turn to him.

“Spill it already Otto” said Aron losing it

“We send some scouts near the crime scene, so far nothing was found” said Otto

Aron left a puff of smoke come out of his nose

“Does someone have some good news?” said Aron grinning his teethes

“The only thing we found is the perps dumping ground” Otto said softly and sweetly

Aron punch the desk bellow him, breaking it in two, everyone stop doing what they were doing, they look at the Golden Dragon, not trying to make eye contact with his golden eyes, he breath heavily.

Aron doesn’t like the idea of a rapist on the loose and killer, he needed to calm down and that is now, so he walks toward the elevator, with a desire to be near his mate.

Scarlet felt a certain chill running down her spine, a very good one, making her gasp, Nicolas look at her and notice that her eyes are starting to turn purple, he took a deep breath, Scarlet told him to continue to work, that she will take care of her Dragon eyes condition, even though she knows quite well why her eyes turn that way.

They continue to work, when they heard a bang sound on the roof, they thought that it was a gun shoot, but then Scarlet realize that Aron is angry and restless with this case, is there one thing that Scarlet knows about Aron, for some personal feeling, is that he hates, detest and would skin him or her alive are rapist.

“They find her near a river bend” said a soft voice

Scarlet and Nicolas turn to hear Brenda’s words

“Did she just spoke?” ask Nicolas

Brenda looks at Scarlet and that’s when it hits her, she is giving the location of her sister-in-law’s body.

She put down her things and headed to the elevator, when it opens, there stood, her mate, the man that would melt her in his arms and the love of her life.

Aron didn’t waste time, he grabs her by the arm and kiss her hard, whispering desiring words on her ear making her turn on and mush.

Scarlet reason mind snap and push him away as he pulls her toward him.

“Aron Kingston, we are at work, also there is good news for once” said Scarlet struggling with his mate’s strength

“Where?” ask Aron

“Near the river bend, she is near the river bend” said Scarlet as she m***s by the small bite Aron cast on her shoulder

Aron grabs his phone and dial Otto

“Head near the river bend that is where the body is” he said what Scarlet told her and hung up

He started to passionate kiss her making her lips raw and then he proceed on her neck, then he started to g***e her b****t hard, pinching her n*****s.

Scarlet let a loud cry and grunt in pleasure and pain.

Aron pin her on the elevator wall, ripping her bottom blouse and proceed to kiss her and leave kiss marks on her chest, b****t and abs.

Scarlet on the other hand started to rip Aron’s shirt revealing his sculpture body, pass her hands in each abs he has.

Aron turn Scarlet against the elevator wall and made her a*s up in the air, he made sure to turn the elevator off before he could continue his fast ministration, he lose Scarlet’s jeans, he took a sharp intake of air, Scarlet is wearing nothing but a t***g, he move what she calls undergarment and t****t hard their connected bodies.

Scarlet is crying so loud of pleasure, Aron is just trying to s*******d both of them.

They spend hours inside the elevator, they made love in different positions and they exploded together so many times, the elevator would not be the same.

After hours making love to each other in the elevator, Scarlet return to the lab, but then pang her head against the table, exhausted by the lovemaking that Aron and she share.

Brenda looks at Scarlet and made a small smile, Nicolas continue to work until he received a call that they found Brenda’s sister-in-law.

When Nicolas enters the elevator with Scarlet, he started to feel weird with her inside, then he look at her with horror and disgust.

“Please tell me you and Aron didn’t do it in here?” ask Nicolas

Scarlet remain silent and avoiding his eyes.

Nicolas shudder in disgust, when the elevator open, he rush toward the Knight’s stationary desks, he found Aron typing and refresh.

“I just confirm that you and you...” Nicolas pointed his fingers toward Aron and Scarlet “...just took that poor elevator’s virginity” said Nicolas

Otto spit the water he was drinking and Titania open her eyes widen like sausages, Scarlet made a small dark hole and crawl into it, leaving Aron as the only one to answer the questions.

“Traitor” he mumbles as he watches his girlfriend leave him with the wolf den

Nicolas got angry with Aron, because he used the elevator for his personal moment with Scarlet and now the elevator reeks of s*x.

After the entire argument with Aron and Nicolas, the Knight team head to the autopsy room to find Dr. Stellar working on the victim, but they didn’t found traces of the rape, due to the fact that she was dead more than a few days, but he send some tissue and evidence to the forensic team.

Aron was walking toward the lab of the forensic team, when Titania and Otto stop him.

“Um, we have a case to finish and a murder to capture, you know?” said Aron

“We know only that this time we are going to intervene, because some h****y Dragon, would do the same thing again in the lab” said Otto

“The last thing Scarlet need is you going inside and made a move at her again” said Titania

They both enter the lab and Scarlet pick up her things and left to her lab, they know that she is completely ashamed and embarrass by it.

Nicolas sighs and continues his work and explaining what he found in the tissue.

“What I got is not much, but the dirt that was pull out of the victims’ finger nails is our key, we got results and this is what I got. A demon that lurks in the shadows but was in prison not too long ago, his name is Hector Nieves, he is what Scarlet call a coward bastard that just wants to impregnate innocent women and reproduce children. I never thought that some demons can be so selfish” said Nicolas

Scarlet came out of her lab

“Some demons tent to do that, because their kind is in extinction, that said that is how their instinct works, take us for example, we are the only four Dragons left alive in the world, if we reproduce there is bound that an offspring Dragon is born as a new type of Dragons” explain Scarlet then something hit her

“The answer of the murder is simple, Nick, start searching the demons that are in low population” commanded Scarlet

Nicolas started to type as fast as his fingers could, Scarlet started to match the DNA results from all the search data, they spend hours, in the point where Nicolas eye’s started to hurt and they let the scan search the entire data base.

Later Titania stops in the lab to see the two forensic scientist tossing paper on a distance trash bin.

“Aren’t you suppose to work?” ask Titania

“Yes, but we are searching for the murder” said Nicolas as he toss his paper ball

Titania widens her eyes as Nicolas told her the news

“And I just find out about this because...?” she left the words undone

Scarlet look at her

“Because we don’t know if will work or not. Look, by recent events, the demon is one of a kind, when you explain the theory on us Dragons, I though exactly the same as a normal demon, why this guy is attacking women and then murdering them? Simple his kin is been exterminated and he might be the only one, he is searching for a suitable woman to bare his children, that is the reason we are searching him on the database” said Scarlet tossing her piece of paper and score it.

The next morning, the machine sounded, finding a match, Scarlet raise her head and look at the results, she shook Nicolas.

When he woke up and saw the results, he continue to archive and search in detail the murder, as Scarlet took the phone out and call out Aron.

Not a minute to spare Aron arrived in the lab with Titania and Otto on their tail.

“Before you ask, yes we found something, Titania was already updated on it, and I am guessing she already updated you” said Scarlet

“She has, so what have you guys find?” said Aron

“Our murder is none only than Marcus Spring, and before you go and beat the guy up Aron” said Nicolas directly at Aron

“The guy is a politician and a late transformation demon, known as Coyote hound (I invented this demon :/) is a rare demon that is in the border line of extinction, furthermore, he is a well-known business man, so Aron, has to be caution and behave in order to arrest him” said Scarlet looking directly at Aron’s eyes

Aron made a quick turn, then back away a bit by the glare that Scarlet was giving him, she knows damn well, how will Aron react and his solution it has become a habit to beat up the murder and then arrest him.

Aron slowly and cautiously walk toward Scarlet gave a kiss on her forehead and then left the lab.

The knights team arrived at the building where Mr. Spring works, he was walking toward the exit, Aron stops the man and ask him a bit of himself and some personal question, then he ask about Brenda’s sister-in-law.

The man didn’t responded, Titania show the man a picture of her, the man denied the fact that he met the woman, then Otto ask about Brenda herself, Titania shows a picture of Brenda.

Once again the man denied to ever meeting the woman, They started to ask about the time and places he might had been, also what he was doing on the night.

The man answers every question honestly, that is when Aron’s «good behavior» snaps.

“Let’s cut the c**p, did or did not rape and kill this women?” ask Aron

Titania and Otto look at him in warning; they know what Scarlet would do to Aron if he loses it. The man look at Aron like he grew two heads, he once and last time denied the fact he knows.

Aron had it so he chuckle on the irony he is in right now, he grabs the man, by the collar of his suit and push him toward the wall, making a crack on it, Aron’s eyes were gold and fill with fury.

The man started to shake on Aron’s hands and then he transforms, most of the employees that were walking on the side, saw the entire thing.

Aron pull him and then pin him on the ground, he took his cuffs out and handcuff him.

“Marcus Spring, you are under arrest for homicide and murder, you have the right to remain silence, everything you say or do can be used against you, in the court of law” Aron read his rights as he push the transform Marcus Spring out of the building.

In the agency, Aron saw a man is talking to Scarlet and Nicolas, then Titania came close to them with Brenda, in that moment, Brenda jump to the man’s arms, the man cry, hugging Brenda, the three of them left them alone, Scarlet came close to Aron, with a sweet smile on her face, then she stood beside him.

“Everything turns out to be ok, right?” ask Scarlet

“Yeah, the jury gave him a sentence of rehabilitation and demon training for ten years, what a low sentence” said Aron
