Kane Moonblood sat on his throne, gazing down at the scroll that was supposed to reveal the prophecy. However, all there was on the leathery paper was the damned image of the blasted Iron Arrow that haunted his every waking moment.

That’s all he knew of his future. The Iron Arrow, the weapon that was the bane of his existence, would appear as well as the four brats he wanted to kill long ago. He still didn’t know why he wasn’t allowed to kill the four parasites instead of sitting there twiddling his thumbs.

He wanted answers and he wanted the now. He was tired of waiting in the dark. This is what happened last time and he was never going to go through another experience like he did all those hundreds of years ago.

He crumpled the scroll in his hand and threw it across the room, roaring in frustration. He had flashes of what happened last time and he couldn’t take them. Bianca’s mocking face flashed before his eyes and it was enough to send him over the edge.

He released a deadly growl, lifted his throne with terrifying strength, and smashed it against the wall, the wooden structure splintering into a million pieces.

“Kane.” Her soothing voice reached his ears and he paused. “It’s alright. Calm down.”

Her voice brought a sea of tranquility into his mind and he instantly relaxed. The sound of her voice never failed to calm the raging storms inside of his mind.

He turned around and saw her standing next to their partner.

He picked the scroll up from the ground, walked up to them, and held it up in front of them. “I’ve been trying for weeks to decipher the rest of the prophecy.”

“Be patient,” she said gently. “You know how hard it is to work through the Moonblood magic. Your sister went to great lengths to make sure that no one else could see what would happen.”

Kane narrowed his eyes at Caius, a Necromancer who’d joined their cause since the beginning. “What is he doing here? I thought this meeting would just be with the two of us.”

Caius scoffed. “How could this be a meeting when all you do is throw a temper tantrum when you’re supposed the new leader of the Eternal World?”

Kane snarled and prepared to strike him and Caius was poised to do the same but she stepped in between them and cast her power, causing them to fly backward. “Enough!” she yelled sharply. “I don’t have time for this.”

Kane groaned and stood up. “My apologies,” he said distractedly as he continued to glare at Caius.

“The sorceress’s decision determines what happens in the prophecy. It can change based on her decision and we need to watch her closely or else everything we’ve worked for can disappear forever.”
