[Arissa's POV]

I sat on my bed staring at the quickly setting sun right outside my window. Memories of the night before flashed across my mind and anger boiled.

How was it possible that I had managed to waste the entire day steaming over Ivan's actions? That piece of shit wasn't worth an ounce of my time, but he had managed to take almost an entire day. Looking over, I spotted the silver cuffs that were waiting to be used.

A shiver raced up my spine as flashes of my last heat appeared. I was also cuffed at that time, but it was for a completely different reason.

"This time is different.” I whispered, sucking in a breath.

I needed to stop putting it off and go ahead and trap myself. A few times already I had attempted to use the cuffs, but stopper every time images of that damn night appeared.

No matter how many times I told myself that it didn't effect me, I realized it did. It was only at that point that the reality of how useless I truly was appeared.

Letting a low grow! escape me I looked towards the window where a light pink glow was beginning to appear.

Shit, I was out of time.

Reaching over, I grabbed the cuffs and twisted them around the post of my bed. Once I was sure it was secure, I clamped them on my wrists.

"Please, don't.” She whimpered, releasing her lip that was ripped to shreds. "No!"

Her shirt was already in shreds exposing her full breasts and porcelain skin. Her pants were halfway down her hips, exposing her way too much.

"GET AWAY!" I roared, immediately seeing red.

“Kill them!" Bastian growled. 'RIP THEM TO SHREDS!"

Moving forward I grabbed the closest guard and threw him against the wall. A whoosh of air escaped him as his body connected and them crumbled to the floor unmoving.

Despite the urge to kill, I was sane enough to realize this wasn't their fault. No wolf could fight instinct.

Making sure the first guard was unconscious, I turned to the next that was biting Arissa's shoulder. "Get away!" I growled grabbing him and wrapping my arm around his neck.

For a moment he struggled, trying to get to Arissa due to his madness. However, he soon stopped as I continued to apply pressure to his throat.

Releasing him, I stepped back and watched him fall to the ground.

"Please," Arissa whimpered, pulling my attention to her.

Her body that writhed around the bed was covered in claw and teeth marks from her guards touching her. As I took them in, I had to control the urge to kill them for even laying on finger on her.

"Help me." She pleaded, calming me instantly. "I'm so uncomfortable.”

Shit, she was really enticing when she begged, but I wouldn't do anything. Not without her consent. "I'll help you calm down." I murmured, leaning forward and snapping the chain of her cuffs. "Just hang on a little longer.”

Placing my arms around her thin frame, I lifted, pulling her against me as she bit down on her lip once more, making me realize she was intentionally harming herself to remain alert.

"You can stop that.” I sighed, beginning to make my way towards her bathroom. "You're safe now." Kicking open the door, I walked to the tub and turned on the cold water. While it filled, I placed her on the ground and stood to remove my shirt and pants so I was left in only my boxers.

What the fuck was I actually doing? She was only a tool, yet here I was preparing to stay with her til her heat ended.

"You're doing this because you brought her here." I murmured, trying to convince myself that was the only reason.

Lifting her from the ground, I stepped into the tub and hissed as the much too cold water bit at my skin. Fuck, this was going to be a long damn night.
