Chapter 297.2 Have You liked Him for Long(2) 

“No need,” Troy looked away and said in a deep voice. 

While eating the cake, Charlie glanced at Troy, blinked, and said, “Imogen, why don’t we go back? Don’t tell me it’s because of that dimwit!” 

“How is that possible?” Imogen raised her eyebrows. “It’s really because of something else. Just wait and see.” 

“Okay.” Charlie reluctantly believed it. 

She raised her eyes and looked at Imogen’s expression. She pressed her lips and said, “Imogen… Can I ask you something?” 

Charlie had kept that question inside for a long time. But she never asked it out of concern for Imogen’s mood. 

“What? Go ahead.” 

“Did you… like that dimwit very much before?” 

Charlie knew that when Imogen and Troy got married, their marriage was already in crisis, but after getting along for so long, she still noticed some clues and guessed Imogen had liked Troy before. 

Charlie assumed she liked Troy, at least during their marriage. 

Maybe she had been in deep love with him. Otherwise, Imogen wouldn’t have been so numb after just getting divorced, even though part of the pain from losing her child… 

After a pause, Imogen smiled and answered, “Yes.” 

Charlie looked like she had expected her answer. She asked, “Have you liked him for many years?” At least since Charlie met Imogen, she had never seen Imogen obviously like someone. So she guessed that Imogen liked Troy before they met. 

“Yes.” Imogen nodded, twirling the handle of the fork and lowering her eyes as she said, “It’s funny. I fell in love with him the year I came to the Marshall family.” 

Charlie opened her mouth in shock. She didn’t expect Imogen to like Troy for so long. It had been ten years… 

“Do you still like him now?” 

Imogen was silent for a moment. Before she could speak, there was a sudden commotion at the door of the hall. 

Two policemen walked in under the leadership of security guards and went to see Terry Frost, the host of the party. 

The hall fell silent for an instant. Everyone looked at the police and whispered to each other. Everyone present was prominent in New York City. Many of them had done dirty things. Maybe someone would be caught! 

Those who were guilty felt nervous for themselves, 

Imogen stood up and looked at Charlie. “There it is. Let’s go.” 

Charlie’s attention was diverted by the police. She walked beside Imogen with a curious look. “Did you call the police?” 

“Yes,” said Imogen.

“Why?” Charlie asked. 

“You’ll know soon.” 

Imogen walked over, greeted Terry, and said to the police, “I called the police.” 

After the police talked to Terry, the waiter beside Terry walked in a certain direction. 

Sarah looked at the waiter, who was getting closer and closer. Her heart jolted, and she had a bad feeling. 

She glanced behind the waiter and happened to meet the gaze of a policeman. From his look, Sarah could tell they were not here to ask her to testify but to arrest a suspect… 

She was shocked when she saw Imogen walking up to the police. 

She thought, “Is it Imogen who called the police? 

“Isn’t she afraid that I won’t testify?” 

Sarah looked away, and the waiter had come to her. He cautiously glanced at Troy and said in front of the surrounding people, “Ms. Page, two police officers are looking for you. Please cooperate.” 

Sarah’s face turned pale, and she grasped Troy’s sleeve tightly. “What’s the matter?” 

“You will know once you go there.” The waiter lowered his head. 

Sarah raised her head and glanced at Troy, only to find that Troy was silent. Biting her lower lip, she followed the waiter. 

Even though it was only a short distance, Sarah could feel the people were either looking at her with mocking gazes or watching the fun. Their burning eyes made Sarah feel very tormented. She remained calm and came to the police. “Officers, what can I do for you?” 

A policeman showed his badge and said, “Sarah Page? You are involved in a criminal case. Please come back with us to cooperate with the investigation.”
