Chapter 136

Leaning against the head of the bed in a daze, she hugged her legs as extremely dazzling car lights shone through the floor-to-ceiling window.

The sound of wheels rolling on the ground came from downstairs, and a Koenigsegg pulled up to the villa's door.

The bodyguard opened the back door of the car, holding an umbrella, and a man standing nearly 1.9 meters tall slowly stepped out.

He pulled off the tie on his neck with one hand and ordered coldly. "Don't let him in"

The bodyguard replied. "Yes." After sending the man into the villa, the bodyguard spun on his heel and strode towards the large iron gate outside the garden. Scarlett stood at the French window, her gaze following the bodyguard's as they both looked out to where it appeared a man was standing beyond the iron gate. She was too far away and the heavy rain made it impossible to make out the man's features, so she didn't pay much

attention.

Bracing herself against the wall, she walked down the stairs, her gaze firmly retracted.

Sebastian had been absent for several days, so she hadn't had the opportunity to bring up leaving

She wanted to seize the opportunity as soon as he was back tonight.

When she went downstairs, the man had just taken off his coat and handed it to a servant.

Seeing her come downstairs, his face grew even gloomier and colder.

Scarlett did not notice and quickly went forward. "Mr. Jackman..."

She attempted to say something to him, yet he didn't even glance her way and headed straight for the bathroom.

Scarlett shut up and looked awkward. What did Sebastian mean?

He kept her at home, ignored her, and was even sullen towards her; as if she were a punching bag.

Scarlett wanted to give up on talking to him about leaving, but when she looked at Richard, the elder servant who was closely following her, she resisted the urge. Without Sebastian's permission, Richard, the servants, and the bodyguards would continue to keep watch over her, making it impossible for her to escape.

Thinking of this, she gritted her teeth and sat down on the living room sola.

After waiting for more than an hour, the bathroom door slowly opened.

Scarlett hurriedly got up and walked over.

"Mr. Jackman, you said that you

would send me back after I recover for a few days. Now I am better. Can you let me go?"

The man continued to ignore her, only giving her a cold glance before striding up to the second floor.

Scarlett was thin-skinned, so being ignored like this, she was too timid to approach him again. However, she couldn't stay at his house forever. "Mr. Jackman..."

"Mr. Jackman..."

Scarlett mustered up the courage to catch up to him.

She did not anticipate him abruptly halting, and before she could react, she collided with his back.

Such a huge impact almost made her roll down the stairs. Fortunately, the man was quick enough to hold her.

Their eyes locked, their faces reflecting in each other's gaze, a silent suggestion of closeness between them. Scarlett lowered her head first and whispered, "Thank you." Then she stood firm and pushed him away. Sebastian glanced at her indifferently and asked coldly, "Have you discussed it with hirm?"

"What?"

Scarlett looked up at him again, her eyes full of confusion.

Sebastian looked at the figure outside the window. "He found this place. Didn't you ask him to pick you up?"

Scarlett followed his line of sight and looked out the window, but she could not make out the man clearly. Taking a few steps forward, however, she could see him better.

Gazing down from her elevated vantage point, she could take in the entire scene beyond the iron gate, illuminated by the street lights. This enabled her to identify the man.

"Dev..."

How could he find this place?

"Your ex-lover came to pick you up. Are you eager to leave?"

His sarcastic tone pulled back Scarlett's line of sight.

She looked at Sebastian, who had already walked to her side.

He had just finished bathing, and his body smelled good.

His hair was also wet and he looked very approachable.

But the words he said were so unpleasant to hear.

Scarlett pursed her lips and did not reply. She wanted to leave.

But if she walked out of this villa at this moment, Sebastian would definitely think that she had planned it with Dev. "Why aren't you leaving?"

Sebastian's head lowered, his eyes frosted over as he fixed her petite face with a cold stare,

Scarlett, seeing the coldness in his eyes, feared he might think she didn't want to go, so she spun around quickly.

As she took two steps towards the stairs, the man grabbed her arm and pulled her into his embrace.
