This had troubled me for a long time. I'd like to know the answer.

If I were seriously injured, my parents would be so anxious that they would fly from another country and stay with me all day. They wouldn't be absent.

Jasmine was either an orphan or her identity was mysterious, and she didn't want us to know.

"She kept her identity secret. I also contacted people at Lincoln University to retrieve her files, but the person in charge had family affairs to attend to and hasn't responded to me."

Colin and I took advantage of the opportunity and had an in-depth talk about Jasmine.

I had always wanted to speak with him to better understand his feelings toward her.

It was important for the future of the three of us. I must make it clear.

Colin didn't hide anything and told me his thoughts. He and Jasmine were merely friends and had no secret romance. What we had to do was to take care of her and let her recover as soon as possible. With the confidence he gave me, I knew how to deal with Jasmine in the future without being too passive.

We planned to fly at 10:00 am, so we got up early. We packed our luggage and planned to leave for the airport at 8:30 am.

Right then, Winston's call came.

Fortunately, the call wasn't to me but Colin.

Colin was so sensitive to Winston that he got upset whenever he heard or saw him.

He frowned in displeasure and picked up the call. He only listened for less than a minute before his expression darkened. He then hung up and looked at me gloomily.

I felt guilty and thought that I had done something to make him unhappy. So, I silently recalled my behavior over the past few days. However, I found that I had done nothing wrong. Why was he looking at me with such scary eyes?

Colin threw his luggage back in frustration and took my hand to go out.

"Why are you leaving your luggage here?"

"We have to postpone our plan. Follow me to college."

"Why is Professor King looking for you at this time? He's so evil," I muttered in disappointment, kicking the luggage in irritation.

I had informed Mom in the morning that I would return today. I even asked her to prepare delicious food for me, but the plan was delayed again. Given the nature of Colin's work, the delay could be extended fo quite some time.

"It's not Professor King. Something happened to Felix."

I was furious.

Why did Felix always make trouble at critical moments? I had reason to believe he did it on purpose.

That was a person I didn't want to see again in my life. I didn't want to care about him.

However, that was Colin's biological brother. If he was far away, we might have a reason. Given how near he was to us, it made no sense for us to ignore him.

Forget it. I would go and take a look for Colin's sake.

We zigzagged to a secluded corner of the college. Three people soon appeared before us.

Felix placed his hands on his waist gloomily. He appeared disgusted as if he had swallowed trash.

Lilac's tears had stained her makeup. She was lying on the ground like a ghost. Under her body, there was a pool of blood that made me nauseous.

Hannah, whom I hadn't seen for a long time, covered the right side of her face in tears and held herself from crying.

For a moment, I thought I was on a battlefield.
