What happened between me and Katsi? I couldn’t remember anything bad and yet there was something telling me I did something bad. All I did was save her life, clean her wounds, comfort her. Maybe my actions in the woods had changed, or the fact that a good looking girl was around and I was attracted to her. I couldn’t be attracted to her, it had to be close to mating season. I got up and looked at the calendar on my wall. One week to be exact. Great, I thought. This is all I need. There was a knock a the door. I sighed. Who could that be? I walked over and opened the door. There stood the familiar dark hair of a cat whom I didn’t really want to see right now.

“Hi, Gur said you wanted to talk to me?” she asked. I stared at her. She was cute no doubt about that, still didn’t change the fact I hated her and I could rip her to shreds. I shrugged.

“So, you are out?” I couldn’t help but ignore everything she said. She nodded.

“Yeah, I got out about an hour ago,” she told me. She was eyeing me up. I didn’t know it was against the law to walk in your own room topless.

“Take a picture” I muttered. I walked away from her turning my back. I wondered what she was thinking. Did I care? I mentally shook my self, of course I didn’t care. I walked to the window and looked out of it.

“Thank you,” She whispered. I wanted to look at her. I was shocked. No one ever thanked me.

“There is no need, I was only doing my job” I told her. I tried to keep all emotion out of my voice. She giggled.

“And yet you still saved me life and for that I thank you. You didn’t have to do it,” she told me. I heard her feet patter on the floor. “You know, you don’t have to be so cold all the time. I believe those who have emotions and feelings are stronger in all aspects of life. If you build a barrier against other people and caring for them, when you actually find someone who loves you, you won’t be able to tell them what they want to hear and in toll break their heart. Then you will realise you love them but it will be too late.” I sighed silently at her little speech. Was she right? Would I actually break someone’s heart? Could someone love me for who I am? I glanced behind me. Katsi lay on the bed arms in under her head propping it up.

“You shouldn’t do that you know” I told her with out looking at her.

“Do what? You aren’t looking at me.” I smirked out the window. I didn’t say anything. I started feeling awkward. I glanced back at Katsi. Her eyes were closed and as her chest rose and fell I wanted to smile.

She was really quite adorable..

“Can you leave?” I asked her. I tried to void all emotion. She sat up and looked at me.

“Um...okay.” she whispered. She got up and left. I heard her sigh as she closed the door. I hated mating season any thing moving, you were attracted to. That meant that any species you could have sex with. There was no emotions involved but this time when I looked at Katsi, it was different.

I needed to talk to her, I know, but when your hormones are rampant it was hard. What happened in the woods was significant. I would never have cleaned someone else’s wounds and I would never have saved their life or cared about saving their life.

What was going to happen? Katsi had slashes on her stomach, she couldn’t train properly. What was I going to do, she need to update her history, and other things. I guess we could rest until she was healed. I got up and walked out the room, I walked down the corridor, and knocked on Katsi’s door. She didn’t answer. I opened it up and looked in. She wasn’t there.

I stepped in looking around. Everything was perfect, even if she did spend a lot of time in here. I walked over to the desk and saw a picture. She didn’t have it before. When did she get that? Must have been when she went to see her sister. I picked it up to get a good look at it. It was of Katsi and Temperance, there were a few others, one older than Katsi, I guess was her mother. Lilith was also in the picture. There was man stood there. This must have been her father. I smiled. She looks happy there. I placed it down on the top and then I froze. The bathroom door clicked open. Some one came out humming. Katsi came out humming. She seemed in a good mood. I wondered why she came out of the bathroom.

She stopped humming as I guessed she saw me. “Don’t you dare turn around” she said. I smiled.

“I thought you were not allowed to shower,” I said trying not to follow the curiosity that was growing the pit of my stomach.

“I wasn’t bandaged or anything. Besides, I needed it, I still had leaves in my hair. And I still have blood splattered on me. Even the cat in me was annoyed that she was not clean.” I glanced behind me. I could just see her figure. Her legs were long and firm. Toned and tanned well. Curiosity got the better of me and I turned to look at her fully. She had a towel around her thankfully. I wanted to see her stomach though. But I saw her back. She had a small paw print mark on her back. I guessed it was a birth mark, the mark of her pack. She turned to look at me and smiled.

“I thought I told you to not look.” Her voice rang out in the silence of the room. She was becoming more attractive every day.

“Um...yeah, well I only came her to tell you something.” I said. She looked at me waiting. “Uh...” I looked at the floor. Her eyes were piercing, they caught you in a trance. “Your training. I’m thinking of keeping to just the history, you can fight well any way. Once we have your knowledge and history at tops, your training will be done. I will test you and see if it is OK, your fighting I mean. I will see if you are fit for going out on missions. But first off, I want you to rest.” She nodded at me words and smiled.

“Of course, um Zev...what happened in the woods, what I told you, what you did, it meant a lot.” She said softly. She put her hand on her stomach. “I don’t know if it helped stem it or not, and I don’t know if you feel anything for the fact that I told you about my family but it meant a lot to me and I thank you for that. I normally don’t tell anyone about what happened and it sets me apart from everyone. When I do tell people, they look at me like I’m a freak, they don’t understand, but when I told you, I could tell you understood and from the minute you saw the scar, you didn’t bat an eye lid, you didn’t think I was weird at all. It means a lot.” I nodded understanding what she was trying to say.

I looked at the photo one more time and I walked out of the room. I closed the door and sighed. I didn’t get what was going on? I hated her and yet, every time I looked at her, or something happened between us, I couldn’t help but be nice to her. I had said thank you to her but I had never said sorry to her, or anyone in my life. I turned and opened the door but what I saw was not what I expected. Katsi stood with her back to me. She was naked.
