Salted Tears | ✓
- sixty | the end

It’s been years.

He pushed her away.

She stayed.

He left her.

She followed him.

He tried to be with you too soon.

She saved him.

He said he hated her.

Hated her for stopping him.

He said he hated her for not letting him go.

She said she loved him.

And he stayed.

And she stayed.

And they stayed together.

Even when he missed you.

She was there to hold his hand.

Even when he cried at your grave.

She was there as his shoulder to soak up his tears.

And he learned to love again.

And she learned to love herself too.

And he learned to move on.

From you.

He finally let go with the help of his new love.

A girl whom you pushed his love towards.

And their hearts were finally pieced back together.

His heart felt whole again.

And after all this time, he finally realized why you told him that lie before leaving him.

He finally realized that you did it because you cared about how he’d feel and that...

Sometimes, the twisted truth hurts less.
