I DROP my bag on the floor next to where Alex sets up the barbell. The resort gym’s huge, with all the equipment we could need and glass windows lining the entire wall, looking toward the mountain. Images of Mia, head tilted back, cheeks flushed, hand slipped underneath her panties, fucking destroys my concentration.

Never in a million years did I expect to catch her displayed like that. It took every ounce of my willpower to stop from going over there and replacing her hands with my own.

God, the sounds she made. Her gaze flicked up to mine, and for a split second, they darkened. I followed her tongue as it traced her bottom lip. My girl forgot. Forgot all the bullshit she put between us. For the briefest of moments, I saw the girl who used to look at me like I was the only one who could satisfy her. Like I was the only one who owned her.

“Hey, dickhead.” Alex snaps his fingers in my face and gives me a lopsided smile. “Where the fuck did you go?”

I raise a brow and stay silent. We’d been friends since AAA, so it’s not like he expects some form of in-depth explanation. I keep to myself, and that’s how I like it.

“Where’s the speaker?” He sits and lies back on the bench, positioning his hands on the barbell above his chest. His back’s arched, feet planted into the floor, and for the second time today, I force myself to look away.

“Forgot it.” I step around so that I’m facing his head and hover my hands around the bar. Mia’s thrown me off, and I’m struggling to pull myself back in line.

Alex laughs. “What the fuck do you mean forgot? That’s what you went back for.”

“I was distracted.” Not a lie.

He eyes me for another few moments before huffing out a breath. “Whatever. I’ll settle for your titillating conversation.”

I spot him for ten reps before we switch out, and I take his place on the bench. The weights are heavy, but I need the burn in my muscles to keep my head from drifting to a certain blonde. Hair splayed out around her. Teeth digging into her lip…

My elbows buckle, and Alex grabs the bar, helping me safely rack it.

“The fuck is wrong with you today? You never space out.” Alex asks with a laugh of shock in his voice.

I look him over. Sandy-blonde hair he’d cut short a few weeks ago and a lopsided grin. You’d never know he’s absolutely vicious on the ice. I sit up and watch him as I deliver the news, and his reaction does not disappoint. “I walked in on Mia getting herself off.”

He does a double take, mouth dropping open before he slams it shut. “Repeat that. I don’t think I heard you right.”

I lean forward and catch his pupils widening. “Mia was laid out on the bed, vibrator against her clit, while she pinched her nipple, head back, moaning what sounded like our names.”

“Oh, fuck.” Alex collapses on the bench beside me and stares at the ground as he processes what I told him. I wouldn’t have said a word to anyone else, but the way his breaths are coming out in short, stuttering inhales, I’m glad I did. He tips his head back and blinks at the ceiling fluorescent lights. “She knows you saw her?”

“She does,” I answer.

“Fuck me. She must be mortified.” His eyes dance back and forth with his thoughts before a slow smile curves his mouth. “And horny.”

Not expecting that, I jerk to face him. “How do you figure?”

“You’re telling me that you walked in on Mia when she was about to come? There’s no way that girl would risk getting caught again.” His smile grows. “Which means she’s out here aching.”

A growl-like sound rumbles through my chest. Fuck, I like the idea of that. Like her squeezing her thighs together as her pussy drips.

He knocks his shoulder into mine. “So what’s the plan?”

My lips curve in the barest hint of a smile. “Now we drive her insane until she begs for us to fix her needy little ache.”
