Chapter 8

Turning to Derek, “You will be paying me back for her new set, I will be making sure of that”, Oliver says, giving him a glare that would scare the soul out of someone.

Megan walks in, taking in Dereks bloody appearance, his wounds are still bleeding and staining his clothes.

“My team has already told me why you are here. Though tearing up Snow’s work and destroying their kitchen. I have to say I am surprised you are alive. Considering Shadow is her mate.”, Megan says.

Derek looks between the two of us and the face he makes was as though we wished for death. Or that he could be anywhere else than to be right here with us. Megan continues to talk.

“So you really have a few options. Tells everything you know about Lunar including their base locations, who they are politically tied to, their supplier, everything. You will become a reconnaissance agent for us. In turn Snow and Shadow won’t kill you, you will be protected from Lunar, you will be getting paid and living here on base.”

Derek looks Megan in the eyes, “I’ll take your deal. I want revenge for them taking the choice from me and forcing this upon me. I have no issue with you nor your organization. If my knowledge will help you take them down. I’m in.”

Megan smiles, “Good, we will be getting you set up shortly. However, I feel I should warn you. Pull another stunt like you did tonight. I don’t think Snow won’t have you missing your dick and ball. With that being said, stay out of their room or Shadow might slaughter you anyway.”

Derek slowly stands turning to us eyes on the flow in signs of submission.

“My apologies Snow for your work and to you Shadow. I have no intention of getting between you and your mate.”, he states.

We both nod accepting his apology. Megan calls for Smith to come in to take Derek for medical screening and to show him to his new living quarters on 105. It was then that I learned that assassins get the better suites based on their rank. While computer and reconnaissance agents get the first floor since they are not in the direct line of fire. Oliver and I turn and leave the room heading back to our quarters to finally rest.

Getting back inside our room, the damage to our room and things is still very much apparent. I go to the kitchen getting the garbage bags out, I start picking up all the destroyed food on the floor and dishes. Oliver starts in the living room putting the books back on the shelves and putting things back where they belong.

“So why did Megan call us by those names”, I ask while moving the now full bag out the way.

“Those are our code names for the field so now one knows our names”, Oliver responds, placing the last book on the shelf.

I finish throwing all the perishables and broken dishes away before organizing then cleaning the kitchen. While I make our kitchen spotless, Oliver goes to the hallway to get a vacuum and proceeds to vacuum the living room. After two hours of cleaning the kitchen and the living room is done. Oliver places a call to let Megan know that our food needs to be replaced. He also mentions to make sure Derek pays for it.

I told him to let her know we will be sending her a list of new things we might need. Oliver relays my message to Megan before hanging up Unbeknownst to him two felines like us with our metabolism eat a lot. I toss the trash out in the trash chute in the hallway. Walking back inside I head for our bathroom.

It looks like that dumbass has sense enough not to touch anything but I still don’t trust him. I toss out our toothpaste and toothbrushes along with all our toiletries. Telling Olvier to add each one to the list we will be sending to Megan. I cleaned the bathroom anyway while Oliver cleaned the blood from the hallway and entryway. We each spent the next few hours cleaning up our rooms and Derek’s blood off the floor.

By the time we are finished it’s the early hours of the morning. Looking at the clock it reads 2am. I change into a baby doll that goes to my mid thigh. I walk over to my bed falling on top of it. Grabbing a stuffed panda, I promptly fell asleep. I wake up to something hard behind me. Opening my eyes I turn my body looking behind me.

Only to find Oliver snuggled behind me. Sleeping in his boxers, all his muscles nice and toned for me to see. His arm is draped across my hip. He begins to nuzzle my hair in his sleep. I smile, I will ask him about this later, I turn back around and fall back asleep.

The next time I wake up it’s to the smell of food. I sit up in my bed stretching my arms and legs before getting out of the bed. I walk out my room heading to the kitchen where I found that Oliver has cooked a breakfast spread and has already placed everything on the table.

“I thought you said you can’t cook”, I looked over at him.

“Oh this is from Derek apparently it’s his way of apologizing.”, Oliver responded.

“Should we really trust him with our food Oliver”. I ask skeptically.

“Smith and J were with him when he made the food the whole time. And were with him when he brought it up. I think we are good.”, Oliver responded.

“Well if they were with him ok.”, I say before sitting down at the table.

Oliver sits down for a coffee latte in front of me. I smile and accept as he sits down with his own cup. We both begin to dig into the food, loading our plates full with eggs, waffles, sausages and fruit. After eating a mountain of food and letting my stomach digest. I got up taking our plates to the kitchen before coming back and clearing the rest of the table. I start washing the dishes as Oliver gets up to take a shower.

When he comes out I finish the dishes, cleaning off the countertops as Oliver comes walking to me. Taking my hand, he leads me to the bathroom and pushes me inside.

“Your turn, take a shower and relax Ami. I’ll put the dishes away.”, he smiles and walks away.

Closing the door, I walk over to the shower area starting the water letting the water warm up. While the water was heating, I walked over to the sink.
