Rejection Denied
Strong Female

I was engulfed in a bright white light and felt sad, no longer feeling warmed by Mia.

“How long has she been out?” A male voice asked.

I still had my eyes closed, controlling my heart rate. I didn’t move an inch, wanting to take these guys by surprise. Not that I needed to, I just wanted to see the look on their face.

“Around an hour, she should be awake soon. I didn’t give her as much this time.” A voice I recognized as Tanners.

“This time, Tanner? There should’ve never been a first time. This poor girl’s life is about to change.” A softer voice sounded. I almost felt bad for what I was about to do. Almost…

“Cay, I got enough from Nix. We talked it out…sorta.”

“Yeah, he’ll be doing both his duties and mines until Nix decides otherwise.” an obnoxious voice said. Ok, like Mia said, only three males to handle.

“Were you ever doing your job, Joel? If so, you suck at it.” Tanner snapped.

“Well, clearly, you sucked at yours too, Tanner. Bringing a human girl into werewolf affairs. Tsk, if I had your job, me and this beautiful creature would be having a different sort of affair.”

“Watch your filthy mouth, Joel.” Tanner snarled. “I’ll never let you near her, she has a purpose, and it isn’t going to be fucked up even more. She is to stay unmarked and unmated.”

“Relax Tanner, human girls, can’t handle all of this greatness.”

“Aviry, are you ready? It’s now or never.” Mia said.

“Let’s do this, Mia. Tanner first, then the quiet one whom I assume is Cay. Finally, we’ll show Joel just how much we can handle.”

My eyes shot open, I shot out of bed, my feet landing on the ground.

“Holy shit!? Do you normally jump out of bed like that?” The obnoxious voice, Joel said. He was standing by the door near the bathroom. He was just as tall as Tanner, with Blonde hair brown eyes. Definitely a lady getter.

“Aviry, please calm down. We’re not going to hurt you.” A calm voice, Cay. Standing next to a wide-eyed tanner near the door. He was taller than tanner, But he didn’t have as much muscle. His porcelain white skin was perfect. Gorgeous gray almond-shaped eyes with thick black lashes. His dark brown hair was tousled and stopped above sharp, crisp eyebrows. He is a beautiful man.

“Let me out of here then,” I warned. The only warning that I’ll issue.

“We can’t do that Aviry, Let’s sit and talk—”

“TALK? Tanner, last time we talked, your “boss” turned into a fucking dog. Then two more nearly tried to eat me.”

“I wasn’t going to eat you. I just wanted to scare you.” Joel shrugged.

“Oh, that’s nice to fucking hear. Now I just have to cope with the fact that you can turn into a dog!” I shouted.

“We’re not dogs, little girl. We’re wolves, bloodthirsty killing machines. So, call me a dog again. We’ll have a nice walk in the woods.” Joel barked.

“Mia, so I was thinking we break this dude's legs and then shove them up his ass. What do you think?”

“Sounds good to me,” Mia replied.

Ok, time to whoop some ass, Tanner; you’re up first. My violent mood was turned on, thanks to Joel.

“Joel… that is your name, correct? When I’m finished with you, you’ll be wishing for death.” I didn’t wait for his reply, so I walked to the door and opened it, Attempting a last peaceful departure.

Tanner stepped in front of me, blocking my path. I took two steps back into the room, biting the inside of my cheeks. “Where are you going? You can’t leave before—“

Smack!

I slammed my fist into Tanner’s left jaw, knocking his face to the side. Before he could recover, I had my other fist repeat the action to his right side. Two strong arms wrapped around my waist, trying to restrain me. I kicked off the ground, pushing legs into Tanner’s chest.

BAM!!

He crashed into the wall, his head knocking back, a large dent now decorated these beautiful white walls. Taylor slowly slumped to the floor, drywall falling above him. One down, two to go.

I twisted in the arms of my oppressor to see Cay.

“Aviry, just calm..” I head-butted his nose. Causing him to release me. He lunged for me, and I used my left leg to kick him in the stomach. He doubled over, clutching his torso. I took the opportunity to jump on his back.

In the back of his jeans was a needle. One I knew all too well, I grabbed it and injected it into his neck. He reached for the injection spot, scratching at my hand.

I dropped the needle and began strangling his neck with my hands. He tried walking into the hall, struggling, and gasping for breath. He fell to one knee and then the other. His body went limp, falling face-first onto the hardwood flooring.

Two down, one to go. I smiled and stood from a now unconscious Cay.

“Ooh Joel, time to go on that walk. You can tell me all about how great you are.” I cracked my knuckles and neck. He walked out of the room, and I ran and tackled him to the ground, his head bouncing off the floor.

Smack!!

“I’m going to break your legs, Joel.” I snarled in his face.

Smack!! Smack!! Smack!!

“Then, I’m going to shove both legs up your ass!” I growled

I slammed my fist one more time before I went to finish the job

“MOVE ASSHOLES, AND GET BACK TO WORK!” Nix’s voice roared. I looked up, unaware that a crowd had formed around us. Their cameras were flashing, taking pictures.

“Rain check Joel.” I slapped his cheek and ran down the opposite hall from Nix. The crowd easily parted and formed back after I passed. Probably wanting to get more pictures.

I ran down the hall, faster and faster. Finally, I found a staircase that descended. I rapidly ran down, jumping the last five steps.

I pushed open two double doors that lead to a kitchen area and saw a group of chefs working on different stations. Some were by the stoves stirring pots and flipping frying pans. Others were chopping and washing vegetables. One was carefully putting fruit on a dessert. But when I walked in, they all stopped working, staring at me curiously.

“We don’t want any trouble. Please use the back entrance.” I shaky female said. She slowly put down the knife she was using. And pointed to the back.

I nodded my head and took the direction she gave.

“What was that about?” Mia asked.

“I guess word spreads fast around here.” I shrugged

I walked into a fading sunset, a small grassed space just before the woods. I stepped off the small concrete slap and onto the soft grass.

The smell of nature was getting Mia excited.

“We should go for a run in the woods. It could help trigger our change.” Mis suggested

“I think that would be nice.” I agreed. I stepped closer to the woods, taking a runner’s stance.

Ready, set go.

I took off faster than I have ever run in my life, the grass tickling the bottom of my feet. I got to the opening of the woods, the soft grass turned into dirt and rocks. Sticks and leaves crunched and snapped as I ran.

This is amazing, Mia,” I said

“It’s is. Do you feel anything?”

“No, I’m sorry, Mia,” I said sadly.

“Don’t worry about it, Aviry. Our time will come, and we’ll run fast and far.” Mia assured me.

I stopped running when I reached a small river bed with mossy rocks. I reached down and scooped some water into my mouth. The water was so cold and refreshing, better than the bottled shit that cost nine dollars.

“Mia, let’s build a cabin in the woods. That we can stay out here forever, I feel like we belong out here.”

“Well, we do. It’s only natural for you to feel at home out here. Technically, you were left in the woods as a baby. It’s your birthplace.” Mia laughed.

I laughed along with her.

I continued walking and exploring. I enjoyed the colors and the smells of nature. The sounds of the insects and animals. And the different textures of plant life around me.

“Aviry, can I ask a favor,” Mia whispered.

“Anything Mia. You’re the only one I’ll do anything for.”

Ok, good.” She let out a hard breath. “Ok, so listen when we get back to the house. Do you mind if we chill out a bit? Like not fight, and learn as much as we can.”

“Anything but that shit Mia. You want me to submit to those assholes? After all of that, we kicked their asses. There’s no way they’ll be friendly after that.”

“No, not submit more like…take a vacation from violence.”

I burst out laughing, “Mia, you say that like I can turn it on and off. You know how I get when someone pisses me off.” I shook my head. “How do you expect me to calm myself enough to not want to harm anyone.”

“Well…Nix seemed to—”

“Nix can climb into a rocket, a blast the fuck off.” I scoffed at the mere suggestion of Nix, helping me calm down.

“Aviry, please do this for me. Just until the competition, then you can go ape shit crazy. Let’s take this time to learn about who we are and what we’re capable of. It’s better for us to be informed and trained than strong and naive.”

“UGGGGHHHHH MIAAAAA!!” I pulled my hair and closed my eyes. “I will try my best to refrain from hurting anyone that’s here. But the second they piss me off or think that I’m weak, I will hurt them…very badly. All the anger that’s going to be pent up in my body will be released on that poor soul.”I mentally shouted, aggravated about agreeing to this nonsense.

Ok, I can accept that. Let’s head back. It’s getting late.”

I mumbled about how this was going to be difficult. And about how Mia was taking advantage of her position of being the only one I cared about.

I exited the woods. The lights in the freaking mansion were all lit. I stepped onto the grass and walked to the house. The steps that led up to the front door suddenly seemed like I would be climbing a mountain.

“Ugh!! Why do they need so many—”

“You’re back.”

“Fucking shit, dude?” I shouted, jumping backward.

A dark figure walked from the shadow space near the stairs. “I was about to send my trackers after you.”

“Nix, do you reside in darkness? And why does it matter if I came back our not? I was taken in the first place.” I crossed my arms.

“You’re right, you were. I thought a little fresh air might calm you the fuck down.” He walked closer to me. “Which I’m glad to see it did. My friends were hurt badly, thanks to you. But don’t worry, they’ll be ok. That’s the only reason you’re still alive right now.”

“Nix, bitch. Come and try your luck with me. I forgot to include you in today’s order of whoop-ass. You told me I was unworthy, right. Well, let’s go, dog man, you and me.

“Aviry! What did we just agree to?” Mia shouted

“He’s pissing me off,” I replied.

“No need. Enough, violent energy has been displayed today.” He stopped in front of me. “After what you did to my men, I’ll admit that you have what it takes to compete as my champion. But this isn’t going to be easy. The females you will be fighting are of my kind, and they’ll fight back. Unlike Tanner, Cay, and Joel, they won’t hesitate to fight back or even kill you. ”

“I am not afraid, and I don’t back down—”

“I can see that.” He sighed. “Ok, let’s do this the proper way then. Seeing as that was not done the first time.” He cleared his throat, placing his arms behind his back.

“Will you, Aviry Mills, agree to become my champion in the upcoming Alpha’s Luna Competition. Will you willingly participate in all events and try your best to win.”

“Will I be paid, and do I get a FREE air hockey table?”

He nodded.

“Ok, then sure I will help you kick some ass and win this for you.”

“Ok, now—”

“One other thing, though.” I crossed my arms.

He gritted his teeth, “Yes..”

“I want to be taught and trained. I want to know everything about werewolves. Also, I’m not working. I’m on vacation from everything except for what I want to do. So, I’ll only fight when I’m training unless someone here pisses me off. I advise against that. I can write down a list of everything that pisses me if you want.”

“Is that all?” He asked impatiently.

“No more sleep injections, and I want a room with a window, tv, and a snack fridge. I’ll need to get some new clothes as well, nothing fancy, though.” I tapped my chin. “I think that’s all for now. I’ll let you know if I need anything.”

He huffed a breath and turned away. “You know, I watched you run in the woods. You seemed at peace there. Like you were at home, I would say you're more wolf than you think.”

Oh shit, can he sense something?

“I just like nature,” I said, clasping my hands. “I’ve always lived in the city. It’s nice to get fresh air like this.”

He started walking again, “Dinner is being served soon. Please behave yourself. My people are innocent.”

I followed behind him, slowly taking the stairs

“It’s a good thing we couldn’t shift, right, Mia.”

“Yes, remember we keep this to ourselves. It’s our only advantage.”
