I couldn’t take my eyes off Kex, wondering what he was going to say. He looked around the table, and then his gaze landed on me. He gave me a small smile, and my heart fluttered. 

Then, he stood up and walked over to me. He pulled me up from my chair, and I looked at him with raised eyebrows. He just smirked, that cocky grin of his that both annoyed and intrigued me. I scoffed, trying to act unaffected by his presence. 

“There will be a ball tonight,” Kex announced to everyone. 

I looked at him, confused. I didn’t remember Kex telling me about a ball. My mind raced, wondering what was going on. 

“What’s the occasion?” Harry asked, his voice curious. 

“Yeah, what’s it about?” Aisha added, her voice muffled by a mouthful of food. 

Kex’s gaze landed on me, but he didn’t say anything. 

“You’ll find out tonight,” he said, turning back to the group. They all nodded, seeming content with the answer. I, however, was still left in the dark. I wanted to know what was going on. 

I sat down, and I tried to focus on the delicious food in front of me, but my mind kept wandering back to the mystery of the ball. What was Kex up to? 

He leaned in and k*ssed my cheek. “Get ready soon,” he whispered, before walking 

away. 

I stood there for a moment, watching him leave. I followed him, closing the door. behind me. 

“What’s the occasion?” I asked again, wanting an answer. 

He turned to face me, a sly smile on his face. “You worry too much,” he said, chuckling. 

“I’m serious,” I said, not amused by his lack of 

response. 

“Do you trust me?” he asked, looking at me intently. I hesitated, but nodded. “Good,” he said, turning away from me. 

With a groan, I stood up and headed to my room. As I opened the door, I saw the maids

dropping my clothes on the bed. 

“My lady,” they said in unison, bowing. 

I gave them a warm smile and sat on the bed. I leaned back and closed my eyes, taking a moment to relax. The maids quietly went about their business, folding my clothes and tidying the room. I took a deep breath and let my mind drift, thinking about the upcoming event. 

I felt a gentle touch on my shoulder, and I opened my eyes. I let out a groan as I stretched my arms. I rubbed my eyes, and then I blinked, trying to adjust my sight. 

“Water,” I said, groggily.

I looked out the window and saw that it was getting dark outside. I groaned, realizing that I was running out of time to get ready. I stood up, feeling the ache in my muscles. from lying for so long. 

“Let’s get you ready,” the maid said, and I nodded, following her to the bathroom. 

I stepped into the shower, the hot water air, and I let the warmth relax my muscles. I closed my eyes and let my mind wander, thinking about the night ahead. I wondered what Kex had planned, and a small smile. crept onto my face.

Then, they gently applied light makeup to my face, making me feel like a princess. As I looked at myself in the mirror, I could hardly believe the woman staring back at me. I had never felt so beautiful. The door swung open, and Aisha entered the room. 

“Oh, goddess!” she exclaimed. I watched her through the mirror, a smile spreading across my face. She walked over to me, a look of wonder on her face. 

“You look like a bride!” she said, her voice full of awe. I laughed, feeling a flush of warmth spread througly me. 

“Thanks my love,” I said, feeling a little embarrassed by her praise.

“It’s time for the ball,” she said, a hint of excitement in her voice. 

I nodded, taking a deep breath. I stood up, my hands trembling slightly with anticipation. Aisha took my hands in hers, and we walked together to the door. My heart was beating fast, my wolf jumping with excitement as we picked up on Kex’s
