Chapter Seven the hospital Session I

Chapter Seven: The Hospital Session II

“Regina, oh my Goodness it’s so good to see you, I thought I would never see you again after that night.”

“Good morning Sir.” The lady managed to say, it was glaring that she was trying to hide her rising cheeks as Evans flashed her a smile. She had a little more of his attention before he turned towards. me again. With his set of eyes that were as if a fine pair of uncut emerald gemstones were fixed in his eye sockets.

“It’s a pleasure to see you again.”

“It

“And you too.” It was a small world indeed.”

“Dr Blythe, this is Mrs Regina Miles and her appointment is for an hour.”

Make it two hours.”

“I didn’t pay for the extra hour.”

“Let’s just say that’s in the house. Thanks, Sarah.”

“Alright, Sir. Mrs Regina this is where I would like to stop now, I would be going back to my duty post.” The lady said as she handed over the bag to me.

“Thank you so much, you’ve been helpful.” I stood stunned by the change of attitude the lady now possessed. In the beginning, she was more than eager to take me to the office; now she was even more eager to go back to her duty post.

“I wonder what I’d be doing with the extra hour with a doctor.” I chuckled.

“Trust me I can do a lot of things.

“Like what?” Piqued with curiosity, I caught his eyes again, they were like the green fresh mosses growing by the side of the lake. They roved around me.

…even an X–ray vision would not be enough to see how truly pretty you are.” I scoffed looking away

and then back to him.

“This way please,” he led me on as we went into his office.

So you are a doctor?”

“Yes, and you are Regina Miles.”

“I didn’t know Regina Miles was such an important person.”

“Every billionaire’s wife is an important personality especially if she is this gorgeous and smart and really kind. I’ve seen your work. And it got me wondering though.”

“Wondering about what?”

Chapter Seven: The Mist S

“Why were you out that night alone in the cold?”

“I was at the bar to have fun.”

“I don’t mean to pry but you know that’s not just it.” And just then my mood went sour again.

“Did I say something wrong?”

“No, not exactly.”

“C’mon, you can talk to me about anything.”

“But that’s not why I am here. We have limited time.

“Yeah,” He exhaled.

“Can I ask you a question?”

Yeah sure, go on.”

“What would you do if… You know what, never mind I don’t want to bombard you with all my

problems on our second meeting here.”

“Then let’s meet somewhere else.”

“I don’t know about that.”

“C’mon u’s just to talk, nothing more. Here’s my card,” He handed me a card,” Please call me anytime you feel like talking.”

“It’s fine,” I buried the card in my purse.

By the time Thomas arrived home, I was already halfway through dinner.

“Welcome home Thomas, your meal is served,” I said, still down on my meal.

“Thanks.”

“You hurt me and you still eat my food,” I said as soon as I watched him dig into it. He reduced his pace and looked up at me but I ignored his gaze looking away.

“When are the chefs returning?”

“I don’t know, but for now you’ll eat what I cook.”

“Is this some kind of threat you should be scared of? Or a way to lure me to your bed because it’s not going to happen ”

‘Think all you want, I don’t care. You can eat alone.” I packed up the leftovers as I turned to leave but turned towards me as a thought hit me.

“When were you going to tell me?”

Chapter Seven The Hospital Session

“If it’s what I think you are asking of, then I guess you have found out now.”

“You are such a joker Thomas. I knew you were many things but didn’t know you had this selfishness In you. You only keep me here because of your selfish desire. I hope that once you come to realize all that you are doing.

“You can say whatever you want.”

“How could you even invade my private space without letting me know about It? I did those things for those people anonymously but you used it as a means for your silly champagne so the people would you. I wish they knew how much of a liar and cheat you are. Now it explains why you do not want to sign those papers,”

love

“You can’t take out all I have worked for, so you have to work accordingly.”

“I don’t care about your silly campaign, you your First Lady for all I care. I just can make r want out of your life once and for all.”

“That’s not going to happen. I have worked too hard for this.”

“Whatever and just so you know, Thanksgiving is this Sunday so I’d suggest you be on your best behavior.” Just as I talked I walked out. It pained me that I had let him into my head again. His nonchalant words spilt whatever he dimed fit to say. Every day, I walked around like I had armor in my heart a bit at night, I was curled up in bed crying my delicate eyes out. But this night took a different turn as my mind did not rest entirely on Thomas‘ words. A bit of my thoughts were of

Edward.

“Hello,” I said as I put a call through to him.

“Hey, gorgeous I’m so glad that you called. How are you?”

“I’m doing great, I wanted to thank you for today and the free session too. It really meant a lot.”

“Come on Regina, it’s nothing.”

“I have to go now. Goodnight.” I hung up before he could say anything else. Our two–hour session has been the best part of my day. It turned out the emotional trauma put me under a lot of stress and I was placed on anxiolytics to help manage the stress. His calm words were soothing as they sounded like light feather that caressed my skin. His firm stares were like he could read me like a book. But even as bright as they appeared, there was something not right with them. It was like he longed for something, maybe a path or a direction. It was hard to tell. My instincts were never wrong and the childlike novelty in me sprung up. That instant, I wanted to know what gloomy cloud had taken a part of him, the desire to know was like a spark that caused my chest to flutter. I could not help but wonder if the fortuitous encounter at the bar and now the hospital held the potential of something more as the night became older, sending chilly air into the room. I had no idea what would happen whenever we spent time together or if I would have an encounter of such magnificence again. Something about. the way he looked at me, and spoke out like he had hoarded a lot of passion waiting to be shared. It felt like a sprouting root, waiting to blossom in the splendor of our shared connection. But I knew that was just the beginning of a path of my life I never knew existed.
