"Jacob, I beg you to come after me and spare the Lewis family."

Layla reached out to pull him, but he tactfully avoided her. "I have an appointment tonight. The driver will take you home."

"Okay, drink less and come back early." Layla concealed her dissatisfaction and responded obediently.

On that day outside City Hall, he hadn't agreed to get married. For the sake of that marriage certificate, she had to continue pretending to be an understanding and caring partner.
