Prophecy Of Doom
Chapter 29:

Meanwhile somewhere someone’s whistling

In Lincoln’s head: Where is that coming from? (on the roof)

Lincoln: “Hey, listen to me. Don’t do this. Whatever it is, whatever you’re going through, it’s temporary and this shall pass. Don’t jump. (Amara’s standing on the ledge)”

Amara: “Why would you assume I’m standing here to end my life?”

Lincoln: “That’s what people come here for, to end their life. I saved a few but sometimes they don’t change their mind. Are you going through something? A bad breakup?”

Amara: “Why the hell would I end my life for someone who doesn’t give a shit about me? I’m not that stupid.”

Lincoln: “So you’re not here to end your life?”

Amara: “I’m here because it’s making me feel alive. I mean, you start valuing your life when you feel death is near you, right?”

Lincoln: “Sad but true. Oh God, what happened there? (a building on fire - one hour earlier Grayson’s bedroom)”

Grayson: “What’s that smell? Who are you? Who let you in? Oh, you’re the new girl but I asked them to send you at 10:00. You’re early. I’m not complaining”

Amara: “Trust me, you’ll start complaining in just a few minutes.”

Grayson: “Feisty, I like it.”

Amara: “Nah, I’m deadly. You won’t like it. (ten minutes later)”

Grayson: “Is anyone here…help…Robert…Jake…”

Amara: “Don’t waste your energy, no one is coming. I took care of your men before entering your bedroom.”

Grayson: “Who the fuck are you? Why are you doing this?”

Amara: “You can call me karma or you can call me by the name that man of your world gave me. The Shadow Huntress.”

Grayson: “The Shadow Huntress?! Please, let me go. I can give you anything, just tell me what you want!! Do you want money?”

Amara: “I have plenty of money. Do you remember Lana?”

Grayson: “N-no.”

Amara: “Devina?”

Grayson: “No.”

Amara: “Maria?”

Grayson: “I don’t know who those people are.”

Amara: “These are just a few of your victims’ names or should I say the names of those girls you purchased and sold like objects.”

Grayson: “Listen, it’s just business. If I won’t do it, someone else will and why are you doing this to me? I’m not the only one who’s involved in this.”

Amara: “Don’t worry, I’ll visit your partners soon.”

Grayson: “Take everything I have. I’d do anything you say just don’t kill me.”

Amara: “Kneel.”

Grayson: “What?”

Amara: “Kneel…and beg me for mercy. Maybe then I’ll think about leaving you alive.”

Grayson: “You said you'd leave me. (Amara pulls out a torch)”

Amara: “And I said I would think about it and I thought about it. My mind said I shouldn’t leave you alive because you don’t deserve to live. (present time). The angel of death came to take yet another evil soul to hell.”

Lincoln: “What?”

Amara: “I heard the man who owns that penthouse was involved in human trafficking.”

Lincoln: “What about the other people present in that building?”

Amara: “Everyone is safe.”

Lincoln: “How do you know everyone is safe?”

Amara: “I just know.”

Lincoln: “Why don’t you come down.”

Amara: “Let me be. I’m feeling at peace up here.”

Lincoln: “Okay. How old are you?”

Amara: “Twenty one. Oh, no. Actually twenty two. I turned twenty two last month.”

Lincoln: “Did you celebrate it?”

Amara: “Do you celebrate getting old? Do you celebrate your arthritis and joint pain? Exactly. I don’t like birthdays.”

Lincoln: “You sound like you’re already tired of life at the age of twenty two.”

Amara: “I am because the older you get, the more you realize how fucked up this world is. Although I’ve been living for twenty two years, it feels like I’ve lived so many lives.”

Lincoln: “I’m sixty five, I lost my wife twenty years ago and my son three years ago but life goes on and I feel like God has kept me alive because I have a purpose. When I save someone I feel grateful to be alive.”

Amara: “I thought you were an atheist.”

Lincoln: “Why would you think that?”

Amara: “You lost your wife and son. When someone sees their loved ones dying in front of them they beg God to save them and when God doesn’t we question his existence.”

Lincoln: “For a few moments yes, but in the end I found my way back to God because I had no one else to turn to.”

Amara: “Good for you.”

Lincoln: “Do you believe in God?”

Amara: “That’s a difficult question but one thing I know for sure is that I don’t wanna see my loved ones die in front of me. It would be better if I go first.”

Lincoln: “Seems like you love your parents very much.”

Amara: “You got it wrong. I fucking hate my parents…adoptive parents. They tortured me, burned me and forced me to work even when I had no strength to stand, without food. So by loved ones I meant my brother and a few friends I have.”

Lincoln: “I’m sorry you had to go through all that.”

Amara: “Really, don’t be. Speaking of my brother, he must be waiting for me. It was really nice talking to you…?”

Lincoln: “Lincoln.”

Amara: “It was nice talking to you, Lincoln and I just wanna let you know you’re doing a great job. (Amara jumps and Lincoln goes to check)”

Lincoln: “Oh God…where did she go? (on Amara’s motorcycle - at the park)”

Amara: “Hey priest.”

Priest: “You again?”

Amara: “What do you mean? You know I’m here everyday.”

Priest: “How may I help you? Don’t tell me you got possessed.”

Amara: “If you’re the one who can perform an exorcism on me, I can get possessed.”

Priest: “Why do you flirt with me?”

Amara: “You’re the only man who won’t flirt back. Here, your tacos.”

Priest: “Thank you.”

Amara: “So, did you see any new faces today?”

Priest: “People call it a ghost town for a reason. No one comes here.”

Amara: “We did.”

Priest: “Yes, except you and Damon. I’ve been seeing you for the last six months. You go to the city every day, why?”

Amara: “I have a job.”

Priest: “What job?”

Amara: “You talk to your God everyday? Ask him, he knows.”

Priest: “You and your twisted answers.”

Amara: “So my brother was with you?”

Priest: “This evening, yes.”

Amara: “How is he?”

Priest: “You both live in the same house and you’re asking me how he is?”

Amara: “Something’s bothering him. I asked him and he didn’t tell me. I thought maybe he told you. People come to you to confess their sins and share their secrets.”

Priest: “Even if he did tell me, I’m not gonna share it with you.”

Amara: “Let me guess. It’s between you, him, and your God?”

Priest: “Yes but I can tell you he’s just worried about you.”

Amara: “Me? Maybe. I should get going, I’ll see you tomorrow.”

Priest: “I won’t be here tomorrow.”

Amara: “Where are you going?”

Priest: “Father Joseph called me today, he needs me somewhere else. I’ll be gone for a week. Please don’t burn this place down during my absence.”

Amara: “Why would I do that?”

Priest: “God knows. (Amara and Damon’s home)”

Damon: “So you’re finally back.”

Amara: “Yes, I’m back.”

Damon: “What are you doing, little one?”

Amara: “Going to my room.”

Damon: “No, I mean this. You go out everyday, you’re never home, you don’t sleep, you don’t eat. What are you doing?”

Amara: “I’m in my hoe phase.”

Damon: “Hoe phase?”

Amara: “Yeah.”

Damon: “I don’t think you even know the meaning of that. A hoe phase is a person who goes on a sleeping spring and you my dear, you’re going on a killing spree.”

Amara: “My hoe phase is a little different, don’t judge.”

Damon: “You’re killing people. Do you realize that?”

Amara: “Karl…come on baby, we’ve prepared for this. (noises of women screaming, crying and begging for mercy)”

Damon: “What the hell is this?”

Amara: “The person I killed tonight, these are the screams of his victims. Would you still think I shouldn’t have killed him?”

Damon: “I don’t know what to say.”

Amara: “Then don’t say anything.”

Damon: “Let me ask you, do you kill these people because they don’t deserve to live or do you kill them because you like to kill?”

Amara: “Maybe both.”

Damon: “You don’t even try to hide the fact-”

Amara: “You know that I don’t lie.”

Damon: “You have to control it.”

Amara: “Control what?”

Damon: “Everyone has a dark side, the darkness that they hide and when we let it control our mind and soul, it destroys us. We hurt people who don’t deserve to get hurt, the darkness destroys every good thing that exists. You should be careful, little one.”

Amara: “Do you think everyone has the same amount of darkness? I don’t think so. Have you ever felt the same urge I feel? The urge to destroy everyone and everything around you? What I do is a watered down version of what I actually wanna do. Trust me, no one feels the way I feel. Okay fine, I’ll stop. I leave for New York tomorrow. I need to visit my company. Are you happy now?”

Damon: “Go change, I made dinner.”

Amara: “Why don’t you go back to New York and take care of your business.”

Damon: “I’m not going anywhere. If you’re gonna come back here then I’m here.”

Amara: “You know I can take care of myself.”

Damon: “That topic isn’t up for discussion, little one. I’ll live where you live. Unless you get married to someone then that’s a different story.”

Amara: “Forget I ever said that. (after dinner in the living room)”

Damon: “Hey, stupid computer play some music. Karl…?”

Karl: “Fuck you, Damon. (Amara laughs)”

Amara: “What? You offended him.”

Damon: “Don’t tell me he has feelings.”

Amara: “I made him this way, if you don’t treat him with respect, he won’t either.”

Damon: “Fine. Karl, can you play a good song?”

Karl: “Sure.”

In Damon’s head: Fuck you Karl. You can’t read my mind, can. That’s what I thought.

Damon: “Let’s dance.”

Amara: “Why? And you don’t dance.

Damon: “You do and I know it calms your mind and I dance with my precious people.”

Amara: “Okay.”

Damon: “I wanna know, little one. You’re the strongest person I know, you’re stronger than you think you and know this…you’re loved and your’re precious and I’ll always be here when you need me and when you’re ready to talk.”

Amara: “I know brother, I know. (Amara’s room)”

In Amara’s head: I didn’t realize it until Damon said it out loud. It’s been six months. I don’t really recall what I did these last few months but the first thing I did was I burned a penthouse down. I don’t really need to remember whose penthouse it was. It was funny to watch it turn into ashes. I won’t lie, I know I’m not well because I didn’t process what happened that night. I just locked that memory of that night somewhere inside my brain and threw the key away as I drove away from that place. It was the best thing to do, at least I think it was. At first, I had trouble getting any sleep but when I finally was able to sleep I started having nightmares and eventually I stopped sleeping. I haven’t slept for 93 days. They say that prolonged sleep deprivation can lead to cognitive impairments, delusions, paranoia, psychosis and all that shit but I haven’t experienced any of it and I’m not surprised. I know I’m far from normal. Sleepless nights are more peaceful than sleep actually, those dreams were fucking with my mind. Dreams that questions I can’t find answers to no matter how hard I try. That’s what I’ve been doing. I read every book available on the internet that could have answers but nothing. I couldn’t find any answer which could make any sense nor do I have any relative who could help me. I don’t know why but I feel like I’m running out of time. It’s like I can hear a bomb ticking but I’m unable to find where it’s coming from. To diffuse a bomb I have to find the bomb. I don’t make any sense I know but if I don’t keep myself busy with these things, other thoughts will capture my mind, thoughts like how naive I was. Was I possessed when I allowed myself to be fooled by his fakery? How did I let him fool me like that? But then there’s another voice in my head that says I’m not naive and I can’t be fooled that easily. The things I saw and heard that can’t be a lie, the things I’ve felt that can’t be a lie, but what’s the point? I know what I saw that night. I saw him with that…oh leave it. And it’s over for good. I’ve come to terms with the fact long ago that no one is gonna apologize to me for hurting me. I no longer have feelings, I’m numb and I like it.

Karl: “It’s 12:00 Amara, you should sleep.”

Amara: “You know I can’t sleep, Karl.”

Karl: “I found a book of demonology that’s written in Aramaic.”

Amara: “You want me to read a demonology book and a ghost town? That'll be fun. Make sure I don’t summon a demon unknowingly. (somewhere in Greece Darien’s room)”

Axton: “Don’t fuck this up. You need to go to New York and sign the deal and come back here and give Rony Craven’s message, Craven wants the consignment next week.”

Darien: “I got it. How many times are you gonna repeat it? (two days later Amara’s work building)”

In Amara’s head: Hmm…new receptionist. Here goes nothing.

Amara: “Hey, I’d like to meet Ian Davis.”

Receptionist: “Do you have an appointment? If not then don’t waste my time.”

Amara: “No. Just let Ian know Amara's here.”

Receptionist: “Who’s Amara?”

Amara: “The founder of this company.”

Receptionist: “I’m sorry what? I think I heard you wrong. You must be 18 or something.”

In Receptionist’s head: I get paid a lot but I’m still not going to deal with this type of shit.

Receptionist: “I get it. You must’ve slept with Ian and you thought he’d offer you a higher position but it’s not gonna happen and I don’t blame you. He’s handsome and I know the females here wanna fuck him but he has a fiance, I know you didn’t know that. Now see yourself out. You’re fucking wasting my time, I have things to do.”

In Amara’s head: Why does everyone make me lose my shit these days.

Amara: “Karl, let Ian know that I’m here.”

Receptionist: “Who the fuck are you talking to? You know what? I’m done. Security!!”

Security Guard: “What, Carla? You call me every five minutes.”

Receptionist: “Get this girl out of here, she’s wasting my time.”

In Security Guard’s head: I can’t with this woman. Everyone wastes her damn time. I don’t know but this girl exudes power, her sense of style, her confidence even the way she’s standing. You know there are some people who don’t need an introduction and she seems like one of them. I think Carla is in deep shit.

Security Guard: “You have to leave, ma’am. Please.”

Amara: “Can you wait two minutes?”

Security Guard: “I can do that. (Ian runs in)”

Ian: “What the hell is going on here? I’m sorry mam, I didn’t know you were coming.”

In Receptionist’s head: Mam?

Amara: “It’s okay Ian. But I have to ask what happened to the old receptionist?”

Ian: “She had to move to another country.”

Amara: “I see. You…all the best in finding another job.”

Receptionist: “Why would I find another job? I have this job and I love working here.”

Amara: “You don’t and you’re fired. Now you can continue the series you’re watching.”

Receptionist: “What? You can’t be serious, look, I’m sorry.”

Amara: “Who hired her, Ian? Fire him too, he clearly doesn’t know who to hire. I don’t wanna see this kind of unprofessional and disrespectful people here again.”

Ian: “My apologies. (in the office). It’s good to see you after so long.”

Amara: “Same here and congratulations on your engagement, sorry I couldn’t make it. I was busy with other stuff.”

Ian: “It’s okay and Jasmine really liked your gift.”

Amara: “She did? I’m glad.”

Ian: “So I’m gonna see you settle down anytime soon?”

Amara: “Oh no…love sucks but you know what doesn’t suck? Another million in my bank account. The new processor is ready to launch, right?”

Ian: “Yes, I’ve got everything ready. Let me go get the presentation we’ve made.”

Amara: “Okay. (later the night at the bar)”

Rowan: “Hey, are you an angel? Because you look like you just fell from heaven.”

Amara: “Did you just call me satan?”

Rowan: “What? Ohh umm…”

Amara: “Maybe I am satan.”

Rowan: “I’m so bad at this, aren’t I?”

Amara: “Yes.”

Rowan: “I’m Rowan.”

Amara: “Amara.”

Rowan: “If you don’t mind me asking, what are you doing here alone? I mean it’s rare to see someone as gorgeous as you by yourself. I’m sure you have a boyfriend.”

Amara: “I’m single.”

Rowan: “Really?”

Amara: “Yes but don’t flirt with me, don’t waste your time.”

Rowan: “Why? Are you in love?”

Amara: “Maybe I was and because you said it yourself, I’m satan. I’m too evil for you.”

Rowan: “I wonder what evil things you’ve done.”

Amara: “I kill people with no remorse.”

Rowan: “With your killer looks…?!”

Amara: “You’re funny. I can tell you about someone who has a little crush on you.”

Rowan: “On me? Do you really think I can be someone’s crush?”

Amara: “Why not? You’re a good guy and you’re good looking.”

Rowan: “You think I’m good looking?”

Amara: “Do you wanna know about that person or not?”

Rowan: “Sorry, tell me.”

In Darien’s head: Well well…God really loves me. I was finding her in the wrong places but looks like fate brought you right in front of me without trying and now that I have you, I won’t let you go out of my eyesight.

Amara: “You see that pretty girl over there on the counter in the yellow dress?”

Rowan: “I know her, that’s Amber. We used to go to the same school and she was my first crush but I never had the courage to ask her out.”

Amara: “You’re stupid. Go talk to her now or someone else will.”

Rowan: “But how do you know she has a crush on me? Where did she go? Okay, I’ll go talk to her. (outside the club)”

Darien: “Miss me? Because I’ve missed you everyday since the day I saw you.”

Amara: “You came at the right time.”

Darien: “Now you’re talking.”

In Darien’s head: Her scent is enough to drive me crazy.

Amara: “You came at the right time. You see, I’m so frustrated and if I don’t let my frustration out somewhere my head will explode.”

Darien: “I know a few ways you can release your frustration, your place or mine?”

Amara: “We don’t need to go anywhere. We can do it right here and I only know one way to release my tension and I can assure you, you won’t be able to handle it.”

Darien: “Someone’s getting impatient here, I like it.”

Amara: “But first I have a question for you.”

Darien: “Hmm?”

Amara: “How dare you touch me?!”

Darien: “What?”

Amara: “I don’t fucking repeat myself.”

Karl: “Amara, leave him. He isn’t breathing. People are coming.”

Amara: “Hmm.”

In Amara’s head: Now I feel better. (the next day in the hospital)

Axton: “Who did this to my son?”

Ken: “We were having drinks at a club, he went outside after a girl. When he didn’t come back, we looked for him. He was outside lying in a pool of blood barely breathing.”

Axton: “Is it the same girl he’s been obsessed with?”

Ken: “Yes, he was so happy when he saw her at the club.”

Axton: “She has beaten my son like this? Find that fucking hoe, I’ll teach her a lesson she’ll never forget. Son, what is it?”

Darien: “I wanna kill her myself.”

Axton: “As you wish. Bring the witch to perform a locating spell and call the rat.”

Ken: “Of course.”
