Chapter 15:

The next morning training in the field

Greta: “Okay, enough now. We’ll take a five.”

Silvia: “About time, you should accept that I’m better than you.”

Emma: “Fuck off, Silvia. Why don’t you accept that Amara is better than you? Oh wait, you can’t because she’ll beat the shit out of you.”

Silvia: “Let’s see who beats the shit out the other. New girl…why don’t you bring your ass here and fight me? I’ve heard you’re good at it, show me.”

In Ryan’s head: What is she doing now? Why the hell do I tolerate her at this point?

In Luca’s head: Somebody please bring me my popcorn. I’m gonna love watching what’s about to happen right now.

In Aria’s head: Shit’s about to go down.

Silvia: “Don’t be scared, I’ll go easy on you.”

In Silvia’s head: Not.

Amara: “I’m gonna pass. I don’t fight girls.”

Silvia: “Sounding a bit sexist. Are you really that scared of ‘girls’?”

In Amara’s head: I’m not scared you fucking airhead nor do I think women can’t fight. I just feel I wouldn’t be fair as I know what I’m capable of and that I can cause serious damage. I don’t wanna do that and I’m struggling to contain my rage nowadays, it would be a bad idea to find a person I don’t like.

Silvia: “The only thing you’re good at is barking. I won’t tell the others you’re a coward.”

Amara: “You heard wrong. I’m not good at it, I’m the best at it. I’m gonna show you.”

In Amara’s head: Remember that you asked for it.

Ryan’s Mindlink: “Remember Silvia, she’s not a werewolf so you won’t be using your wolf strength. Am I clear?”

Silvia’s Mindlink: “Yes alpha.”

Amara: “What are you waiting for? Show me what you got.”

In Ryan’s head: She’s using her wolf strength. I’d forget that she’s my best friend’s sister if I see a single bruise on Amara. That’s when I analyzed Amara. She’s playing with her, she’s holding herself back and Silvia is using her strength for tomorrow it is so unbothered as she knows Silvia’s hands aren’t gonna catch her and she’s damn right.

In Amara’s head: Enough, I don’t have all day for her games.

In Ryan’s head: Let me process this…Silvia was using her wolf strength but couldn’t land a hand on Amara and Amara on the other hand was playing with her and just one hit without using half her strength and Sivlia is on the ground? This girl leaves me speechless every time.

Silvia’s Wolf: “I told her it’s a fucking bad idea but this bitch never listens to me.”

Amara: “I did warn her. Are you guys gonna stand there or are you gonna rush her to the er? Because I think I broke her nose.”

In Aria’s head: I know I shouldn’t laugh but it’s hella funny. (later in Amara’s room)

Amara: “Karl? What are we missing? I wanna know about my parents but again we have already tried everything to find them. Can you suggest something?”

Karl: “There’s one person who can give us information. Actually two. Your fake parents.”

Amara: “Oh hell no. You know I’m never gonna visit them, it’s a very bad idea.”

Karl: “What else can we do? You don’t share DNA with any person, not even 0.05% and it makes the task impossible.”

Amara: “Thanks for reminding me how alone I am in this world.”

Karl: “You’re not alone, you have Damon.”

Amara: “I’m just being sarcastic Karl. I know I have Damon, I’m grateful to have him in my life but I just wanna know about my parents. Anything, that’s the only way I’m gonna find the rest of my answers.”

Karl: “But you don’t wanna visit those people who can actually tell you about yourself and the person who gave you to them.”

Amara: “Because I don’t wanna end up murdering them. The little girl in me who was abused by them hasn’t healed yet and they’ll make me lose my shit when I look at their face again and things will get ugly…very ugly.”

Karl: “What prompted you to reopen this thread?”

Amara: “I had a dream the other day and that made me realize I can’t avoid it anymore. That stalker guy, keep an eye on him.”

Karl: “Sure, he’s still in Greece by the way.”

Amara: “Let’s see for how long. (Damon’s room on the phone)”

Damon: “Things are getting worse here, Nikolaos.”

Nikolaos: “What’s happening?”

Damon: “She’s having nightmares, I believe she’s breaking free and her dreams are messing with her head trying to tell her a lot of things she shouldn’t know. I don’t want her to start digging. Though I’ve tried to erase every piece of information that can lead her to her identity, but I’m still worried.”

Nikolaos: “Have you ever thought about telling her the truth?”

Damon: “I think about it everyday but the outcome scares the shit out of me. The last thing I want is to lose her, I already lost many people in the past. Telling her would end up setting her on a revenge path. She’ll make it her life’s purpose and we shouldn’t forget that her abilities are still suppressed. We don’t even know a single thing about our enemy. How are we gonna defeat them?”

Nikolaos: “You’re right.”

Damon: “That’s not the only thing I wanted to talk about. I want you to make the arrangements to send the second consignment of those weapons to Italy. You can entrust the job to trusted men only, not even a single bullet should be misplaced.”

Nikolaos: “Don’t worry about it. Give me twenty four hours, I’ll keep you updated.”

Damon: “Okay, bye. (in the library)”

In Amara’s head: What’s this? This sword is absolutely beautiful. (a half an hour later in the garden Ryan watching Amara)

Aria: “It’s our father’s sword. You never let anyone touch it. You want me to stop her?”

Ryan: “No. Just let her be.”

In Ryan’s head: She’s purely mesmerizing. As she swings the sword it appears she’s dancing with it in a rhythm. She looks like royalty and Aria’s right. I never let anyone go near that sword because it was my father’s. He was a wolf but this sword has been in our family for a very long time. When I was a child I used to watch my father fence with this sword. I remember those days like it was yesterday. He would’ve been impressed with her skills.

In Aria’s head: I’ve never seen him look at any girl the way he looks at Amara. Growing up I never saw my brother showing any emotion other than anger. I can’t blame him, he’s witnessed some horrific incidents at a young age that can change any person. I have a mate, a family but he hasn’t found his mate. Ercole said he can’t have a mate because he’s different from us but he accepted his fate and never cared about finding his mate or getting settled and different women, they were there to keep him distracted. It’s only his business and the pack that matters to him. He had taken up all the responsibility at a very young age. However, he sees Amara differently, it’s not just lust, he may have more intense feelings for her that he’s trying to hide. He looks kind of obsessed with her. Both of them deserve to be happy. (later Ryan’s office)

Ryan: “Who died?”

Luca: “No one died. Enric called…Benz woke up from his coma.”

Ryan: “What? (at the hospital fifteen minutes later). How’s he doing now?”

Enric: “He’s fine. All the wounds are healed. He’ll gain his strength back in one or two days. I must say I underestimated that girl, she surely knew what she was doing.”

Ryan: “Indeed, we all underestimated her.”

Benz: “Alpha.”

Ryan: “Don’t say anything, Benz. You need to rest but I want you back in the mansion in three days. Get well soon.”

Benz: “Yes, alpha. (in the living room)”

Lucia: “I’m telling you to get out of my way, Aria. I wanna talk to Amara, how could she break my daughter’s nose? She’s a guest here and she should behave like one. Since when has Diavolo been letting a stranger mess with his pack members? Why didn’t he do anything? He didn’t even visit my baby girl or ask her how she’s doing.”

Aria: “For fuck sake Lucia. Ask all the people who were present. It was her idea in the first place to fight Amara, she provoked her. Amara refused at first and warned her but she knowingly said things to provoke her. She used her wolf strength on Amara.”

Lucia: “What?”

Aria: “Don’t believe any of the lies Silvia's fed you. You know your daughter, I don’t need to tell you what she’s capable of doing. She dug her own grave and I don’t know what the hell she was trying to achieve by fighting Amara.”

Lucia: “But if she used her wolf strength then how did she end up with a broken nose? Amara didn’t leave with a single bruise.”

Aria: “I don’t know, she’s faster and stronger than a wolf I guess and the way she was fighting Silivia. She had no intention to hurt Silvia badly. If she had then Silvia would’ve had more than just a broken nose. Amara has warned her to stay out of her way but she isn’t ready to listen. (in the control room)

Ryan: “It’s been weeks, Bruno. What did you find about Amara?”

Bruno: “You told me to collect the information about the hospital she was in after the accident and the recordings. I found out about the hospital but unfortunately the recordings have been erased.”

Ryan: “How do you know if that’s the hospital we're looking for?”

Bruno: “I collected the data about all the transactions Damon has made in the past two years and he’s transferred a lot of money to that hospital but there were no camera recordings that can prove that Amara was there but the thing is I can retrieve the deleted data from their system but it’ll take time. I don’t understand why I’m unable to find anything on her. Why did someone erase all the data? It's as if someone doesn’t want us to know anything about Amara. I was thinking, why don’t you ask her directly what her name was before all those unfortunate things happened?

Ryan: “I already asked her a lot of questions. It wouldn’t be good idea if I asked her more questions. Previously I had a reason to question her, I was making sure she wasn’t a threat to my pack but now she’s gained trust and respect of my pack members and it doesn’t allow me to ask her anymore questions.”

Bruno: “Sorry alpha, I didn’t think it was that way.”

Ryan: “Retrieve the hospital data and see what you can find.”

Bruno: “I’ll keep you updated.”
