Chapter 480

Tommy lifted an eyebrow without a word.

"Alright. It's late. I'm going to sleep now." "I've been worried about you for the whole week and this is how you treat me?" He scowled gloomily.

She looked at him in surprise. "How exactly am I treating you? I'm just stating a fact.”

"Let's catch up next time.” He turned and left.

Anne went to lock her door and lay down in her own room, not daring to go back to the sixth floor as she feared that Anthony might pay her a sudden visit.

Deciding that she would head back upstairs the next morning, she touched the scar on her back and realized it was no longer painful to lay on her back.

She had shown Tommy her arm and neck, knowing that if he initiated it, he would see the scar on her back and realize that her disappearance had something to do with Anthony, as kidnappers could not possibly cause such scars.

As for the “kidnappers’, Anthony would handle everything, and no one would doubt anything she said.

Tommy went back into his car thoughtfully, considering if he had guessed wrongly and that Anne's disappearance truly had nothing to do with Anthony, as she claimed.

If the two had been together, there had to be some marks on Anne's body.

Anthony had come to this area after Anne returned as well, which meant that he was not giving her up. If that was the case, what could Anthony be up to during the time when she was missing? Tommy could sense that there was more to the story but had no proof to support his theory.

"Anne already called me. This girl is going to be the death of me. I am never going to feel safe again if she's not around!" Sarah said.

"She's alright now. Don't worry," Nigel consoled her.

"Sigh. You wouldn't know this, but I've lost so much weight. I couldn't eat or sleep. Nigel, when will you come and see me? Anne can't come here, and I can only rely on you. I feel really insecure here..." Sarah sobbed.

"I know..." Nigel himself intended on visiting her soon as well. He knew that Sarah had been worrying about Anne, and he felt that it was only normal for him to pay her a visit.

He heard a knock on his door, and Dorothy came inside. "Still working?"

When Sarah overheard Dorothy's voice, instead of trying to make Dorothy jealous, she hung up without another word.

While others might consider it cowardice, it was Sarah's little trick.

Dorothy watched as Nigel set his phone down on the desk and asked with a smile. "Why did you hang up as soon as I came in? Did I bother you?"

"Nothing. Why aren't you asleep? Something wrong?" Nigel turned his focus back to the documents before him.

"I figured that you should be able to rest peacefully now since Anne was found. You and Anthony are really similar. You are both workaholics.” Dorothy suppressed her suspicion and smiled with resignation.

"Bianca can move back here if she isn't used to living in the Royal Mansion. Bt

"Yeah. All Anthony knows is work, so he is bound to neglect Bianca. It's going to be very lonely to be his wife!" Dorothy sighed dramatically.

Nigel bit his tongue and remained silent.

"How much longer will this take?" she asked.

“Not much longer. You should go to sleep first.”

"Sure." Dorothy left the study room obediently, her expression darkening as soon as the door closed behind her.

“Who was he on the phone with? It's definitely not about work. Why else would he hang up as soon as I walk in?" she thought.
