"What have you said to her? She ran over to Beth's place and stabbed her!” Cory roared in a dark expression.

Ashlynn gaped at Corentin, realizing that this was the reason why Corentin mentioned to Alexis that Beth bullied her.

"How is Beth? Is she alright?” Ashlynn asked worriedly.

"Her arm was hurt, but she is not in any critical danger. The Hiltons won't let this slide!” Cory said. Beth was the daughter-in-law that old Mr. Hilton chose and he had trained her as he would his own daughter. The Lloyd Family would not be able to escape certain punishment for causing such a thing to happen.

“I know that you did this! Alexis wouldn't have been able to escape the asylum if you didn't make the arrangement!” Cory slammed his palms onto the dining table.

Corentin leaned back casually. “Why are you all worked up? The Hiltons won't come after us.” "Why are you so sure?” Cory felt that the situation could not be worse. Corentin had called off the engagement with Meredith and had now caused Beth's injury. Crossing the Hiltons in Athetin would bring unimaginable consequences.

Corentin pointed his chin at Ashlynn. “Beth Wallace likes her.”

Ashlynn understood what he was saying and her expression darkened, reluctant to help the Lloyd Family in any way.

“Why her?” Cory asked in confusion, “Why would Alexis go after Beth in the first place?? You were trying to use a madwoman to commit murder for you? Corentin, I already told you that the Hiltons have nothing to do with that baby!”

Corentin narrowed his eyes darkly. “And I told you that I will make them pay for killing my child. Go home if that's all you have to say!” He then continued to focus on his

meal.

Cory was furious and taken by surprise that Corentin would do such a thing. He glanced at Ashlynn and asked, “Beth will really listen to you and let this slide?”

“I have nothing to do with this,” Ashlynn said.

Corentin shot Ashlynn an endearing half-smile.

Cory stormed off, hoping that the Hiltons would be willing to forgive them once he paid them a visit to apologize in person.

"Are you worried about Beth?”

"No."

Despite what she said, Ashlynn made a call to Beth after Corentin left for work.

"Are you coming to see me?” Beth asked cheerfully.

"Come over, won't you? Let's have lunch together.”

Ashlynn hesitated, before agreeing.

She arrived at Marshall and Beth's mansion in the morning and stood outside the door, when she heard a car approaching.

She turned around and spotted Beth's car and Beth was stepping out of the car.

"Have you waited long?” Beth hurried over in heels, her eyes filled with longing for Ashlynn. Ashlynn glanced at the bandage around Beth's arm. “Auntie, are you alright?”

“I'm fine. It's just a scratch.” Beth could see nothing else but Ashlynn and reached out to take her hand. “Come, let's go inside.”

Ashlynn was pulled into the living room and was confused as to why Beth was holding her hand so preciously.

Aunt Cher was stunned when she spotted the two walking over hand in hand.

“Come. Sit.” Beth pulled Ashlynn to sit down next to her. Though she had tried calming herself for the past two days, she still could not hold back the excitement she felt when she saw Ashlynn.

"Go make Ashlynn some juice. Jeremy said that you used to love fruit juice when you were working at the Lloyd Group,” Beth said.
