Chapter 1282

She gaped at Corentin, who appeared behind her.

Since he had spotted her, she summoned the courage and retorted, “You should have kept these things to begin with.”

“Do you really think that's all?” Corentin was amused.

An ominous feeling rose within Ashlynn.

“I have plenty more on my computer. Are you interested in seeing them?”

She stood furiously. “Corentin Lloyd!”

"Shh..." He pressed a finger against her lips. “Don't yell. It's no big deal.”

Tears welled in her eyes as she shoved his hand away and yelled angrily, “Why won't you die?! Go to hell...ah!"

He shoved her onto the bed and before she could react, his shadow loomed over her. He caressed the smooth skin on her cheek and said, “Your skin feels so soft to the touch.”

Noticing the lust hidden within his amber-colored eyes, she muttered in a trembling voice, “I've just lost a child, you can't...”

“If 1 insist, what are your chances of escaping?”

She shook like a leaf. “You can't. You can't...Salvatore, spare me!”

He lowered his body and pressed a kiss on her cheek. “Honey, it's easy to ask for mercy, but not so easy to ask for death...” He proceeded to kiss her on the lips.

He was desperate as though he was having withdrawal symptoms and he could not wait to devour her.

More precisely, it felt worse than withdrawal symptoms to stay away from Ashlynn.

She turned her face to the side to breathe and blurted out, “If I get sick, it's only going to be more troublesome for you!"

He buried his face into the crook of her neck and inhaled her scent. “You will always be my wife. Remember that.”

She closed her eyes in devastation.

The next day, the two headed out in Corentin’s car and she sat in the car nervously,

wondering if Corentin had come up with a new way to torture her.

When the car drove through the gate of a hospital, she noticed that they had entered an asylum. She turned to stare at Corentin in shock. “What are you trying to do? Why did you bring me here? Are you...going to lock me up here?”

He did not respond and got out of the car once it stopped.

Ashlynn refused to move and leaned back at the seat.

Corentin placed one hand on the roof of the car and bent down to study the pale look on her face. “I've brought you here to see someone.”

*...Who?”

“You will know once you go inside,” he said and when Ashlynn still refused to get out, he said, “should I carry you out of the car?”

Knowing that he would force her out of the car no matter what, she went out hesitantly, all the while telling herself that Corentin would not act so gently if he was truly going to lock her up in an asylum

“But why are we here? He is the one who should be locked in here!” She thought.

They arrived at a room and Corentin knocked on the door, before entering the room.

Ashlynn was surprised that Corentin knew to knock and wondered who it was inside the room. “Come in,” an energetic woman's voice called out.

Once they went inside, Ashlynn spotted a woman sitting on a rocking chair while knitting, the first thing that hit her was confusion as to why the woman would be knitting in such hot weather.
