Ashlynn stared at her reflection in the mirror, knowing that underneath the cold expression on her face, she felt lost.

"Aren“t you afraid of Corentin finding out about this? Or that I might tell him what you are trying to do?” Ashlynn asked.

"With money?” Ashlynn asked.

“I will pay you handsomely.” Beth knew that this was a tempting offer to anyone. It was a fair trade as most women break up with their partners without any compensation.

Ashlynn stared at the pills, desperately wanting to grab it, hide it in her pocket and take it at night. No matter how many surveillance cameras there were inside the mansion, they would never make it in time to save her child.

The box of pills she was holding earlier was no longer in her hand.
