Chapter 13: What happened next

Many were appalled that within hours of her brother’s funeral, Meghanne had married. Jamie’s parents refused to attend as did most of their guest. Betty, Adam, and Mrs. Vargo were the only ones to witness the blessed union. In this small service two hearts were joined, each pledging their love and faithfulness. After the ceremony the couple returned to the graveyard. They had gone to share their happiness.

“We have done as you asked. I beg your blessing on it,” Jamie prayed.

The words, “You have it,” came to Jamie’s ears.

Shawn’s words floated down from heaven. Jamie looked at Meghann in amazement.

“Did you hear that?”

“Hear what?” she replied

“It is nothing. Shall we go my wife?”

They left the graveyard beginning their lives together.
