Planet XEE
Chapter Five

Sir Ganga Ram Hospital, Lahore, Pakistan.

In the emergency department of the hospital, a crowd mourned the death of an old woman. The grieving family and friends blamed the hospital for the death of their loved one because it had failed to respond and send an ambulance out on time. The mourners were furious with the staff, as well as the doctors and the medical superintendent of the hospital. A press reporter was moving around the crowd with his cameraman.

Ziddan Zai entered the reception of the emergency department and asked one of the members of staff about medical services. As he opened his mouth to speak, a massive electrical surge occurred.

‘Your frequency is too high. The system is calibrating.’

Ziddan received the message inside his head so that only he could hear it. A ray of blue light circled the head of the one of the staff members, came back to his own head and then vanished.

‘Now you can convey your message.’

Ziddan nodded and once again asked where to obtain the medicine from. The member of staff apologised for the inconvenience due to the electrical interruption and guided him to the outdoor services. Once again, Ziddan passed the mourning crowd where a few more people had now gathered. He stopped and asked what was going on and was told that the dead person had suffered from heart disease. The patient had technically died twelve hours before being brought to the hospital.

‘They just ignored our call,’ a young man exclaimed, crying bitterly.

Ziddan felt sorry for them and made his way to the office of the medical superintendent.

The medical superintendent was leaning on the desk, holding his head in his hands. He appeared to be sad and depressed.

‘I am sorry for whatever happened here today,’ Ziddan said.

The medical superintendent looked up at the stranger who had entered his office without permission. He could not understand how he had managed to get there so quietly and without anyone noticing.

Ziddan continued, ‘I am going to give you a device – you can call it Beat Alert 5D. Once it is connected to those seriously ill patients living far away or elderly people living alone, all you have to do is just scan the patient with the front eye – the lens – of the device and let it do its job. It will monitor heart rate and other health conditions. If the patient is in danger, it will change into a mini robot and give paramedical help to the patient as well as calling the hospital to let them know if further treatment is needed—’

The medical superintendent straightened up and angrily interrupted. ‘Sir, I am sorry! I cannot attend to you as I am a surgeon, not a mental health specialist, although I could refer you to the mental hospital for treatment. I am already upset; please don’t cause me more stress. Now leave my office or I shall call security.’

Before he was kicked out of the office, Ziddan said, ‘Just do as I said.’ He handed over a small device to the surgeon. ‘Keep this in a safe place. This device has the ability to multiply itself as many times as is necessary. Keep at least one device in storage at all times.’

He hurried out of the office, leaving the medical superintendent surprised and speechless. He was about to leave the hospital when he noticed a woman pushing a young boy in a wheelchair. She put out her hand and stopped him, begging for help, thinking he was a member of staff.

‘Look at my son; he is paralysed in both legs. Instead of giving him the proper treatment, your staff always send me home with these tablets and syrup for flu, fever and a cough. I have a cupboard full of them, but not one single tablet that is suitable for my son.’

Holding the medicine the woman had handed him, Ziddan bent down to examine the young boy. As he did so, his hand glowed with green light and he received a message.

‘The medicine is a match for Paikhnam’s illness.’

Ziddan nodded and smiled.

The young boy touched his shining hand curiously, and as soon as he did that, a ray of green light circled his body. The next moment, the boy stood up and pushed his wheelchair away from him. He was no longer paralysed.

The boy’s mother was shocked and unable to believe what she saw. Trembling, she reached out and touched her son’s legs and then she began to cry with joy. Her son was a normal boy now; perhaps even better.

Believing the woman to be crying over the death of her child, people gathered around to share in her grief, but what they saw was very different to what they had expected. The boy’s mother told them that an angel had arrived to cure her son.

She pointed towards where Ziddan had been standing. ‘He was just there,’ she said. But no one was there.

People were not ready to believe the story she shared with them, but she didn’t care. She and her son made their way back home, she ecstatically happy and the young boy running and dancing all the way.

It was three o’clock in the morning, and the night sky was clear, peaceful and quiet. The king of mountains, Sagarmatha in Nepal, known as Mount Everest to the rest of the world, shone out of the darkness as it reflected the light of the stars. The far region of the sky was full of flybys – asteroids, comets and other objects orbiting the Earth at certain distances.

Standing on the summit of the mountain with his face tilted towards the sky, Ziddan gazed out into deep space and fixed his eyes on Planet Xee as it orbited its host star, Sajernta-9, in a distant constellation. He waved to his homeland, and smiled at the tiny, golden dot, only barely visible to his eyes. Holding the medicine in his left hand, Ziddan pointed his finger to an asteroid roaming in the dark sky. The asteroid rushed towards Earth, making its way to the highest mountain of the world. It drew closer to the earth, moving faster and faster with every second until it reached the incredible speed of 45,000 miles per hour. The rest of the world was shocked and shaken by this unexpected phenomenon and an emergency was declared for the whole world!

NASA reported that if the asteroid collided with Earth at such an incredible speed, it could wipe out up to three hundred miles; the whole region would be wiped from the earth’s surface and the amount of debris thrown up into the atmosphere would block out the sun and cause most living things on the planet to vanish. The approaching asteroid could be followed by hundreds more and if one of them hit the ocean, it would cause massive tidal waves several hundred feet high that would completely wash away the coastlines.

’Despite our latest technology, we have no way of escape. We cannot change the path of the asteroid and it is now too late to use our nuclear weapons to destroy or

D rotate it before it hits Earth. We cannot even slow it down to minimise the destruction,’ said a spokesman.

‘All you can do now is to pray to your gods, whatever your beliefs! This might be the last day, the last hour or the last moment for the human species on this beautiful planet. Keep calm, stay with your loved ones and await the ultimate fate of the planet.’

With these final words, screens around the world went blank.

The last minute was approaching quickly. Crowds of people rushed to their places of worships; others bowed down where they were. All were crying and begging for mercy, pledging to live in peace with their fellow humans for the rest of their lives if they were saved from this impending crisis.

Much of the world was busy as usual: some people travelling across the country, others across the world, children getting ready for schools, working people making their way to their offices, and some still asleep – all without any knowledge of what was happening around the globe. Love, hate, robbery, helping, looting – every kind of human activity carried on in spite of the circumstances.

A man pointing gun at a group of hostages was about to fire when they realised the situation. A victim fearlessly laughed out loud and exclaimed; ‘Now you also have to die with us, maybe even before you can kill us!’

A couple lying in bed came closer to each other, smiled and said, ‘How lucky we are! We lived such a whole, happy life, and now we will die together.’

As the asteroid drew closer to the earth, the danger increased but Ziddan was slowing it down and, finally, he stopped the asteroid at a safe distance in the atmosphere, inserted the medicine into it, covered it with a protective shield and sent it back into deep space towards his own planet.

The world remained safe; the danger was over. There were joyful celebrations all over the world and religious centres across the planet were full of worshippers.

Two weeks later, it was announced that a religious ceremony was to be held in the holy land of Palestine. All major religious leaders and hundreds of thousands of followers of each religion were invited to take part.

At ten o’clock the ground was full of participants; an introductory speech was delivered by the secretary of newly established party representatives and then the leaders of each religion were called upon to deliver their speeches one at a time.

The Pope was called out to deliver his speech and give his message for a safer, more secure world ahead: ’We are thankful to our Father who, once again, saved our planet from being destroyed. We are granted another chance to live in a better way, to work for a safer world… a world where everyone must be allowed to live according to his own choices.

’We believe that love, kindness, compassion, tolerance, and peace can be implanted in the psyche of man only when fear, paranormal illusion and ignorance are removed.

‘I apologise on behalf of my religion for whatever injustice has taken place in the past during war and peace, sadness and happiness. Today I announce that the heinous acts of war, destabilisation, destruction and killing in the name of religion were carried out due to personal anger and misguided beliefs by some individuals and leaders, and these actions are most certainly not the teachings of our religion.’

‘I pledge that from this day forward, we will follow the true soul of peace, harmony, service, love and patience towards individuals, societies, all nations and our natural world according to the true words and guidance from our holy books.’

’I advise all of you present here today, living across the world, following any religion, or non-believers to do your part in making our world beneficial for all. Let us start a new era of peace and harmony today; I believe we can make this world a better place to live in by helping, caring and understanding each other.

’Let me conclude my message with the holy verses: ’God created this world with the intention that it be full of peace. But human sin twisted God’s creation, so that brokenness now pervades that which God had intended to be so peaceful.

‘Those who are gentle and lowly will possess the land; they will live in abundant peace.’

(Psalm thirty seven: verse eleven)

After the Pope, a Chief Rabbi came forward and started his speech:

’I agree with every single word spoken by The Pope. I also apologise for past incidents caused by Judaism. We now have to stand together for a better life of every individual.

’I pledge to maintain peace and prosperity of the world; I also revise and remind us all of the noble teachings of our religion: ‘One’s mercy must extend to all the oppressed. One must not embarrass or destroy them, for the higher wisdom is spread over all that was created: inanimate, vegetable, animal, and human. For this reason were we warned against desecrating food… and in the same way, one must not desecrate anything, for all was created by His wisdom – nor should one uproot a plant, unless there is a need, or kill an animal unless there is a need.’ (From the Tomer Devorah by Rabbi Moshe Cordovero.)

Next, a Muslim scholar stepped forward:

’This was possibly the most terrifying incident we have ever faced. We were about to be wiped from the face of the earth, most probably forever; but we survived and I consider this a sign of blessing. We have been given another chance to build this world and make it a better place for all of us. Now it is up to us how we use this chance to rebuild our societies; to reshape our thoughts. In each and every society, there have always been a few people who destroy the peace of the entire world and force war upon humans. The bitter truth is, the masses either remain silent or are misused by a few evil souls. But now we must stand against any person doing wrong, belonging to any religion or group who destroys the peace of the world in the name of religion. We must understand each other’s views and respect each other’s differences of opinion.

’Let me repeat and recite the very words of The Holy Qur’an to you all to convey the message of peace, harmony and unity: ‘In The name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the Most Kind. O people! We created you from a male and a female, and made you races and tribes, that you may know one another. The best among you in the sight of God is the most righteous. God is all-Knowing, well-Experienced.’ (Al-Qur’an, forty nine: thirteen.)

‘Then to Me is your return; then I will judge between you regarding what you were disputing.’

(Al-Qur’an, three: fifty five.)

A Hindu guru now came forward: ’I would like to start my speech with the golden words from our holy book and conclude with the wise words of Mahatma Gandhi:

‘Every living creature is the son of the supreme Lord and He does not tolerate even ants being killed.’ (Bhakitvedanta Swāmī Prabhupada A.C. Purport, Bhagavad Gita As It Is, fourteen: sixteen.)

‘Supreme Lord, let there be peace in the sky and in the atmosphere. Let there be peace in the plant world and in the forests. Let the cosmic powers be peaceful. Let the Brahman, the true essence and source of life, be peaceful. Let there be undiluted and fulfilling peace everywhere.’ (Atharva Veda.)

‘The world has enough for everyone’s need, but not enough for everyone’s greed.’ (Mahatma Gandhi.)

One after another, the representatives of different religions, no matter how big or small, came forward and shared their views, and delivered the true message of peace and prosperity until the end of time. They pledged to play their role in maintaining peace in the world. A religious committee, representing and consisting of all religions, was formed to work together globally; it was named, ‘All Religions Peace Committee –ARPC’.

At the end of the day, Song of Peace was sung by everyone present:

We are the living graves of murdered beasts,

Slaughtered to satisfy our appetites.

We never pause to wonder at our feasts

If animals, like men, can possibly have rights.

We pray on Sundays that we may have light,

To guide our footsteps on the paths we tread.

We’re sick of war, we do not want to fight,

The thought of it now fills our hearts with dread

And yet we gorge ourselves upon the dead.

Like carrion crows, we live and feed on meat,

Regardless of the suffering and pain

We cause by doing so. If thus we treat

Defenceless animals for sport or gain,

How can we hope in this world to attain

The Peace we say we are so anxious for?

We pray for it, o’er hecatombs of slain,

To God, while outraging the moral law,

Thus cruelty begets its offspring – War.
