Chapter 4

School finally ended with a few more lessons where nothing happened, thankfully, and I brisk walked to my locker, in an attempt to get away from everybody. All I can say is nothing ever goes my way. A random hand grabbed me from behind and slammed me full force against the lockers. I felt my back hit against the locker’s lock and I gasped silently. I did not even need to guess who my attacker was. I looked up and saw Lake, the pack’s omega, smirking evilly at me.

I felt the predictable punch at my stomach, causing blood to spurt out of my mouth from the force. It’s not that I am unable to block, I was forbidden to block any attack from a member of the pack, stupid, right but that’s my life. An Alpha’s command is not something I can overturn easily. A fist made itself known by trying to concave my head. Blood trickled down my face as I bit on my lips, stopping myself from screaming out loud.

“That was refreshing, thanks disowned bitch.” Lake spat at me. Surprisingly, my lips pulled into a grin, not a subtle one, a full-on that almost looked like a smile. I started to laugh at my misery, as it rattling the invisible chains that bind me to this world. He stared at me in disgust as fear crept into his eyes. “Fuck you, you masochist.” Lake cries out in fear, sending his leg to my face, driving me into the lockers. I could feel blood at the back of my head as lights flickered in the surrounding. I was out cold faster than I know it.

Darkness was all I could see. Well, before I realized that my eyelids were actually closed. I slowly forced them open and lights blinded my vision.

“Are you, okay?” A hunk, not just any hunk, a super delicious sexy looking hunk walked towards me with a bowl of whatever in his hands. I was hesitant, this was someone that I don’t know. I nodded my head slowly, trying to figure out what’s going on. I shifted in the bed and finally managed to find a place to plant my feet on the ground before standing up to stretch.

“You should stay in bed, the doctor said you were injured really badly. I gave him a small smile at his concern with a little blush, no one else but the nurse at the school.

“I’m fine, no injury can kill me, not even myself,” I said nonchalantly as played with my hair. I could feel his stare and I fidget around. “Stop judging!” I said on an impulse. As soon as it left my mouth, I slap a hand on my mouth. What have I done! I whimpered as my mind played through the possibility of him hurting me for the disrespect I just showed. I whimper and cower to a corner, not planning to come out anytime soon.

“Did I do something wrong? Why are you scared?” the hunk said in a very gentle voice, a ploy that the Beta always used to get me out of hiding. I whimpered and cowered in further. I didn’t know why I didn’t figure it out earlier, I might still be frazzled from just waking up but I should have seen this coming from a mile away.

I could feel power practically oozing out of him, probably that of an Elder. I had a really bad past with them, I shiver as I imagined the nightmares I had to go through. A small touch sent me flying, knocking my head hard against his. He hissed in pain and I took through the chance to dash out of the room.

I sprinted down the long hallway and took a left turn, ending up in a marvelous kitchen. But no matter how good it looked, I can’t stop here. Wasting no time at all, I jumped out of an open window and made a mad dash to the outside world. Before I could even touch land, a pair of hands broke my fall. I took a glance at my captor and saw the very same hunk staring at me. I gulped and when I saw the all too familiar cold hard glare. I could feel myself trembling slightly.

“Why did you run from…me,” He said monotonously, voice cracking a little.

“Why are you running, pretty boy,” A man said from the shadow. I scrambled from the ground but did not get far before I was pinned ruthlessly to the ground. I screamed when I felt my arm being dislocated. “Such a beautiful scream. How do you like me in you, I’m bigger than you can imagine.” He sadistically laughed at me...

I screamed and thrashed against the hunk as the nightmare repeated itself. Tears rolled down my face in streams as I clawed at my hand as if trying to scratch the memory off me. A pair of arms pulled me into a tight embrace, whispering soft and soothing words into my ears. I wasn’t like all the voices I am used to hearing. I slowly drifted off as I felt the voice calmed me down greatly. Sooner than not, I fell asleep on the pair of gentle arms.

-Terui POV-

I felt so useless as the pack’s Luna help calm my mate down. I felt really lost for the first time in my life. I did not know what made my mate that jittery around me, not to mention that he is afraid of me. But I knew one thing. His pack probably has been mistreating him. From what I heard from the neighbouring pack’s alpha, they have two alpha in line. However, when I asked about the two sons, only one was mentioned. I’m betting that only one was able to handle the power while the other is probably too weak to even be mentioned by a war pack(A pack mainly trained for war).

I growled angrily at the fear that my mate holds. The emotional fear that I felt was tremendous for even a few hundred-year-old wolf, imagine that fear I experience at least two times worst for my mate!!

My wolf was desperate to come out and wipe out that entire pack but I couldn’t do that without the approval of my mate. I breathed out heavily and calmed myself down before getting back to my cabin where the Luna was.

“Thank you Luna Southwind. ” I thanked graciously. She gave me a small smile and got up before making her way out of my cabin. Luna Southwind is Alpha Southwind’s mate and they balance each other out. Don’t piss her off though cause she will become Satan herself. I petted my mate's head and smiled slightly at his innocent form.

The door creaked slightly but loud enough for me to get me positioned to take on anyone.

“I’m Kelly!! Nathan’s best friend!! Is anyone there?” A shrilling girl voice shouted from the bottom of the stairs.

“Kelly!! Nobody asks like that! what if it’s a killer.” Another male voice rang from the door. Alpha Alex! A good friend that helped out countless times.

“Alpha Alex? Please do come in.” I shouted from the room we are in. The door opened and there stood Alpha Alex and his mate Luna Kelly.

“This is Kelly, my mate.” Alpha Alex introduced.

“I know, I can smell you on her,” I said smugly. “I’m Terui, your friend’s mate.”
