Chapter 15 

BETH 

I felt a sense of belonging from the way Ethan welcomed me to his pack. It felt like home. Over the years, I have always felt the need to survive, but here, it feels like I can live. 

“Thank you,” I whispered so that only Ethan could hear me. I looked between Ethan and the crowd and the warmth in their faces made me feel at ease. Maybe leaving the RedMoon pack wasn’t actually a bad idea. 

Ethan left me alone to speak with a few of his people. Although his eyes were fixed on me to ensure that I was fine, I felt a little shy, standing there on my own. No matter how welcoming these people are, I am still a stranger to them, and it will take a while for me to get comfortable with them. 

“This way, ma’am, a young lady dressed in the maid’s uniform said, as she stood in front of

“Please call me Beth. I’m not comfortable with the formality,” I said, and she smiled. 

“I’m sorry, I can’t do that, ma’am, the Alpha asked us to respect you and you will be our Luna soon, it’s only right to accord you some respect,” she finished with a smiley face. I would have called her fake if the smile looked forced, but they were genuine.. 

I didn’t push it since I don’t know how things work over here, but I was hoping that they could just call me by my name. No one cared about all the formalities back in the Red Moon pack. 

“What is your name?” I asked the lady, already drawn to her by her free spirit. 

“Amelia, ma’am, you can call me Amelia,” she smiled.. 

“Alright, Amelia, please take me to my room.” 

She led the way and we climbed another stairs again. The whole house seems a little. complicated to me, and it might take a while to adjust or even memorize the path. Someone, Amelia got us back to the room I changed earlier, and I finally got the chance to admire its 

view. 

It has a king–sized bed, with a bookshelf filled with different books from the accident time to the present time. The room was big and spacious. Beautifully painted in a nude colour. I went over to the window and pushed the curtain aside, and I was even more wowed. From here, I can see almost everything happening in the entire house. 

“This is beautiful,” I smiled, and Amelia gained.

“It is. If you want to check out the whole place in the morning, I can be at your service, she smiled gracefully and I nodded. 

“I’d really appreciate that, Amelia.” 

“Alright ma’am, I’m afraid I have to go back to my post now,” she said, as she turned on her knees. 

I’couldn’t find my luggage anywhere and I was just about to call her back when I noticed a set. of pajamas lying on the bed. Okay! Looks like they have prepared everything for me while I 

was away. 

I went into the shower and let the water run down my body. I don’t know how to feel about this sudden change, but I was hoping things would turn out just nice. Ethan looks like the type that would do anything to protect me and that is enough assurance. I don’t know what I will face here, but I was certain that he would never leave my 

side. 

I came out of the shower naked and made a mental note to ask for a towel later in the morning when Ethan came inside the room simultaneously. 

I immediately grabbed the dress I was wearing earlier to cover my body as shame ate me up. “I’m sorry, I thought you would be asleep,” Ethan apologized immediately but it didn’t help. the redness forming on my cheeks out of embarrassment. 

He turned around and waited for me to dress up properly, and I took the cue to hurriedly wear my pyjamas. “I’m sorry about that,” I cleared my throat the moment I looked decent enough and he turned back to look at me. 

“What are you doing here, by the way?” I asked, confused about why he was here when I literally just left his side. 

“This is my room,” he pointed and I mentally slapped myself. 

“Omg, I’m so sorry, Amelia brought me here so I thought this was my room, I didn’t realize I was in the wrong room,” I said, chewing my mouth from embarrassment. 

You are not in the wrong room, Beth. They brought you here because you are my mate, and you will be my Luna soon. It is only normal for us to share a room,” he corrected, and I don’t know which was worse. 

The thought of sharing a room with Ethan or the fact that I thought I was in the wrong room. 

“Erm… can’t I have my own room at least for now? The whole Luna thing is a bit scary and I don’t think I want to be with anyone right now,” I confessed. 

Being his Luna sounds like a really great deal, but I don’t know how to feel about it, and everything was just happening a little too fast. I need to take a moment to figure out what was

happening and what I really wanted in all of these. 

“I’m sorry, Beth, but things work in a certain way here. Giving you your room isn’t a problem, but rumours will soon spread and all. If what you are afraid of is-” he cleared his throat. 

“I respect you and I won’t do anything you won’t want so you don’t have anything to be worried about,” he assured, and I felt slightly relieved from his assurance. I know Ethan is a man of his word and he won’t do anything to disrespect me. 

I stayed silent, and he moved closer to me. He surprised me by cupping my face in his hands. before breaking the silence again. “I will wait for as long as you want,” he kissed my forehead gently, and I shivered from his touch. 

Before I could bring myself together, He had gone out of the room, leaving me to myself. I stared into space, confused about what just happened, and I couldn’t help but long for his presence immediately.
