Chapter 10 

ETHAN 

I sat in the dining room alone, eating my breakfast when I began to hear gentle footsteps coming from the stairs. I don’t need to turn around to know it was Beth. Her strong scent had filled my nostrils, but I turned around to look at her anyway. 

She climbed down the stairs one after the other, walking so carefully as if she was afraid of breaking the marble floor. Her long hair sways in the air as she takes each step, and I can’t help but be mesmerized by her beauty. 

My eyes scanned her features, moving from her ocean blue eyes that pulled me in. In those eyes, I wouldn’t mind drowning. Down to her glossy lips. She bit her lips gently as if she remembered something and my dick twitched in excitement. I imagined how those lips. would feel against mine, and the mere thought made me hard. 

My eyes travelled down her body and landed on her cleavage. She wasn’t wearing an indecent dress, but she managed to look like a goddess in a casual mini dress. I wanted to bury my head between those boobs, and- 

I inhaled sharply at how much skin she was revealing. Her long legs caught my attention ast she placed them in front of each other with each step she took. She didn’t even make an effort, yet she looked absolutely stunning. 

“Good Morning,” she greeted as she joined me at the table. 

“You look so beautiful,” I muttered, as I stood up from my seat. I tucked a strand of her hair blocking her beautiful face behind her ear, and her face flushed. 

“Thank you,” she smiled. Her smile was the highlight of my day. Captivating and admirable. I’d do anything to make her smile more often. 

I pulled back a chair for her to sit, and she gave me a grateful smile. I called the maids over to bring another plate for her since no one knew she would be joining me, and thankfully, they made more than enough food. 

“How are you feeling now?” I asked Beth, as we began to eat. 

“Better than I have been feeling for a couple of days.” She smiled and I wondered if she smiled that often. 

“I’m glad you are doing much better. If you don’t mind, I can show you around the pack and get you familiar with things since this is your new home,” I took a bite from my food and she gave me a look.. 

Chapter 10 

“Erm… I think I’m going to need a little time to adjust to things, so if you don’t mind, then we can do that later,” she muttered. 

“Of course, the pack is not going anywhere so you can take all the time you need.” 

“Lycan King…” she called out, gaining my attention. 

“I’m just Ethan when I am with you,” I corrected. 

“Right,” she smiled shyly. “Do you have something against Darren before the day you met me?” She seemed to be genuinely curious and I smiled. 

“I’m not one to hate in silence. If he had crossed me before then, I wouldn’t have waited for him to do something before putting him in his place.” 

“So you did all of that for me?” She asked in disbelief. 

“And I will do it all over again if I must. No one dares to disrespect my woman without facing my wrath.” 

She looked like she was about to comment but decided against it. 

“How long have you been the Alpha?” She asked. 

“When I turned sixteen. That was over a decade ago.” I answered and she nodded. 

“You had everyone to rely on you when you were only sixteen?” She looked pretty impressed and I smiled.. 

“They say experience is the best teacher. Those periods are what shaped me into who I am today,” I smiled, recollecting how I used to be overwhelmed by the pressure, but now, everything looked like a piece of cake. 

“Siblings?” She asked and I shook my head. 

“None,” I smiled at how she was slowly accepting that she was mine and even making progress to get to know a little about me. She probably expected me to do the same and asked her a few questions, but I already did my research and I know all that needs to be. known about my woman- technically everything. 

We soon finished eating and she looked like she wanted to escape back into her room. Not that I minded though, as long as she is here with me, she can take all the time she needs to 

warm up. 

“I will be in my study room if you need anything, I announced before leaving her behind. I have my men all over Darren’s pack and they had informed me about how everyone was suffering in the pack.

Chapter 10 

A plague is killing their children and the adults are protesting, beginning Darren to do something so that their children can be saved. I did a little research about the plague from the information my men gave me and it turned out to be the first time anyone was suffering 

from it. 

Ever since then, I have been reading a lot of histories to find out more about the plague and how to handle it just in case it spreads over to other packs although I’d ensure that doesn’t happen. But we never really can tell. 

Andrew, my Beta came into the room and I gave him a questioning look. He has been working on the security of the pack and I wasn’t expecting him today. 

“Is something wrong?” I asked. 

“No, I am here to inform you that we will need more men to strengthen our security.” 

“You don’t need my permission for that. Take as many men as you want with you. Just make sure everywhere is well secured and ensure the safety of all our health care too.” 

Andrew nodded and turned on his heel to leave before speaking again. “And yes, you have a visitor.” I wasn’t expecting any visitors at the moment and I made sure to put the elders in their place the last time we had a meeting so I was sure that they wouldn’t be here for a while. 

“Who is it?” I frowned. I hate it when people come into my house without prior notification. 

“Alpha Darren. I think he is here to see Beth.” I felt a surge of anger rise within me at the sound of the name. 

“Make sure Beth stays in her room,” I ordered. Does he have the guts to come into my house? That asshole got to be kidding me.
