Samantha raised an eyebrow and plastered on a professional smile devoid of happiness. “Jude, working hours are over now. I don’t have to listen to Mr. Ford anymore.” 

“I’m just following instructions, Ms. Meadows. As the president is looking for you, consider this as overtime. I’m sure Mr. Ford wouldn’t mind paying a little extra.” Although Jude’s tone was courteous, he didn’t seem like he was going to let her have her way. 

Samantha glanced at the car but couldn’t spot Kendrick. She was irritated that her plans had been disrupted. She angrily wondered what sort of trick Kendrick was trying to pull this time. She grew suspicious that he had discovered her plans. and was attempting to thwart her. 

With Kendrick absent, Samantha dropped her pretentious smile. “But I don’t want to do overtime tonight. If it’s something urgent, Mr. Ford should look for someone else. There’s no shortage of staff at Ford Corporation, anyway.” 

Samantha tried to walk around Jude and leave. 

“Mr. Ford says that if you think he’s not being sincere enough, he’ll personally pay you a visit. He’ll pick you up from your home.” Rather than try to stop her. Jude merely repeated Kendrick’s words. 

As expected, Samantha immediately stopped dead in her tracks. 

She cursed Kendrick in her thoughts.

Samantha clenched her hands and took several deep breaths to calm herself. Her smile reappeared, and she walked back to Jude. “That’s not necessary. What does Mr. Ford need me for?! 

Kendrick knew exactly which buttons to push. She wasn’t scared of him visiting her home, but she was worried he might discover Francis and Nathan. 

“You’ll know when you see him.” Jude motioned to her again. He was not bothered by her attitude in the very least. 

Samantha gritted her teeth. Angrily, she eventually got into the car. 

As the car door closed, Jude’s l*ps curled into a smirk. He hadn’t expected 

Kendrick to manage her so well. 

The car didn’t stop until they arrived at Riverstone. Jude led Samantha into an elegant and well–decorated store.

“Olivia, this is Mr. Ford’s partner. Please help her get ready. Mr. Ford will drop by to pick her up soon.” Jude immediately walked toward a woman with pink hair in a black dress. It was obvious that he was a regular here. 

Samantha finally realized that they were in a makeover studio. 

The woman named Olivia had her hair dyed in an eye–catching color, but her face was bare of makeup. Still, this didn’t do anything to conceal her gorgeous features.

As Samantha gave Olivia a look over, Olivia did the same thing. With gum in her mouth, Olivia drawled, “This is the first time he’s requested my services personally.” 

She gave Samantha a warm smile. 

There was a chance that Olivia was one of Kendrick’s past flings. This thought only added to her annoyance at him. Samantha wasn’t one to vent her anger onto someone else. So, she replied with a small smile of her own. 

Pleased, Olivia circled Samantha and snapped her fingers. “He has such a cute woman. She’s much more interesting than Linda. Tell him to come pick her up after an hour. Now, get out.” 

With that, she led Samantha upstairs. Olivia didn’t seem inclined to please Kendrick, nor did she care about Jude. 

Samantha felt satisfied to watch Jude being at a loss for words. She also developed a newfound respect for Olivia, who seemed to be quite a strong person. 

Samantha stole a couple more glances at Olivia to memorize her features. 

Olivia’s relationship with Kendrick didn’t matter. In Samantha’s books, anyone who could render Jude and Kendrick speechless was special. 

Olivia caught Samantha peeking at her. As she gathered several sets of clothing, Olivia smiled and asked, “Am I pretty?” 

Embarrassed, Samantha replied sheepishly, “Yep.” 

This furthered Olivia’s happiness. She shoved Samantha into a fitting room. “Try those on. You’ll soon be as pretty as me.” 

Olivia was a confident woman. Samantha found it hard to dislike her. Instead, Samantha felt herself grow fonder of Olivia. 

Olivia didn’t go overboard. After half an hour, she had given Samantha a complete makeover.

A floor–length aqua strapless dress showcased Samantha’s great figure. She wore only a handmade pink diamond brooch on her chest that concealed her cleavage. It only made her more alluring. 

Her long chestnut hair, slightly tousled, was swept across her right shoulder. It was adorned with a blue diamond hairpin. A pair of pink earrings that matched her brooch were attached to her ears. 

Her makeup also served to elevate her already beautiful features. 

Samantha couldn’t help but be amazed at the person reflected in the mirror. She wasn’t one to dress up often, but she was still impressed by Olivia’s skills. 

“It must be quite expensive for you to do this yourself, right?” Samantha sighed in admiration. She was fine with paying the price. After all, it was proof of their expertise.
