“Hah.” Samantha chuckled. 

“Does it matter if I’m her? Mr. Ford, you just learned that your wife and son died. But tonight, you can’t help but flirt with another woman yet again. If that’s so, why would you pretend to be deeply in love with her?” 

Samantha spoke in a cold voice. Fury raged in her heart. 

Kendrick looked so anxious yesterday. Samantha genuinely thought that he was worriedly looking for her. Instead, he approached her to flirt again. She thought it was ridiculous. 

Samantha wasn’t mad at Kendrick for flirting around with women. After all, this wasn’t the first time he did that. She was already used to it, and she was just deceiving herself all this while. 

But she had informed Kendrick that Samantha was pregnant with his child. She also told him that both she and the child had died from difficult childbirth in Meriscape. 

Yet, he didn’t show any signs of sorrow for the death of his child. Instead, he continued flirting with women as if nothing had happened.

Kendrick frowned deeply. He thought about what Sophia told him. Samantha didn’t even weigh 110 pounds when she gave birth to the child. Both mother and son had passed. 

He felt his heart aching uncontrollably. His hand subtly tightened its grip on the wine glass. Suddenly, Samantha’s mocking voice sounded in his ears. 

“The corpses of your wife and son haven’t even gone cold yet. You’re in quite the mood today, Mr. Ford.” 

“Do you realize what you just said?” 

Kendrick’s expression instantly turned chilly. His S*xy thin l*ps were pursed into a straight line. There was an indescribable air emanating from him. 

Hit were four years ago, Samantha would immediately shut up if she saw that expression. But today, she was enraged. She wanted to vent the feelings she had suppressed for the past few years. 

“Of course, I know what I just said. I said that Ms. Duncan and her son had just

“Ah, but I was just being nosy. When have you ever cared about Ms. Duncan’s well -being, Mr. Ford? When she was suffering overseas, you were living quite the carefree life every day.” 

Samantha felt bitterness in her throat. As she spoke, she looked at Kendrick while maintaining a smile on her face. 

She clenched her fists tightly. Her well–manicured nails dug into her palms, inciting a sharp pain. But this was nothing compared to Samantha’s heartbreak. It also couldn’t compare to the eight slashes on her face from four years ago. 

“Sophia, you should be aware of your status. There are some things you shouldn’t comment on recklessly,” Kendrick said unfeelingly. The smile disappeared from his face. 

He ignored Samantha when he received a call from her. He thought that she was pestering him because she didn’t want to file the divorce. 

However, he had always cared about Samantha’s well–being. Even after they divorced, he gave Samantha enough money so she could spend the rest of her life without worrying. 

But that woman ran away after sleeping with him that night. She even scribbled on his face! 

“What’s the matter? You don’t want to hear more because I hit the bullseye, is that it?” 

Samantha gazed coldly at Kendrick. The smile on her face grew wider. Kendrick found it painful to look at that smile. He wished he could slap it off her face. 

“You’re drunk, Sophia.” 

Kendrick’s expression was terrifyingly dark. As he spoke, he glared at Samantha.. He placed the wine glass on the table. 

She did hit the bullseye, but he didn’t want to explain. It wasn’t that he didn’t care about Samantha. She was the one who ran away on her own.. 

Kendrick started to doubt that the woman in front of him was actually Samantha. He felt that if she was, she would’ve known how it all happened. He wondered what Samantha told Sophia after she left. 

Gritting his teeth, Kendrick thought about it. He wished he could drag Samantha out and ask her about it. 

He cursed Samantha for being arrogant. But then, he recalled Sophia telling him

“I’m not drunk. Kendrick, do you think Samantha was a fool for falling for you?” Samantha spoke up again. Tears pooled in her eyes as she did so. 

She truly felt that she was an idiot. She couldn’t understand why she was insistent on marrying Kendrick back then. After getting married, she event handed Kendrick the shares her father gave her. She allowed him to manage them.
