Chapter 0021 

Samantha turned her head instinctively at the sound of the voice. Unmistakable hatred flashed across her eyes. 

It was Linda once again. 

Her makeup refined her facial features and her hair made her face look small. She looked innocent and pitiful. 

Her low–cut top revealed her slender n*eck. The pink diamond n*ecklace on her n*eck was particularly eye–catching. It easily grabbed Samantha’s attention. 

Samantha subconsciously balled her hands into fists. 

Naturally, she hated Kendrick. However, the hatred she bore for Linda was on another level. 

Linda was the reason for her disfigurement. Even now, Samantha would have frequent nightmares with Linda’s voice. Her beautiful face would also throb with pain on occasion. 

Linda’s heels clacked against the floor as she approached Samantha angrily. Samantha stood rooted to the spot. Linda then held Samantha’s arm and dragged her away. She was obviously afraid that Kendrick would appear and spot them. 

Samantha looked at Linda coldly and did not resist. Only when Linda had stopped walking did Samantha feel her emotions simmer down. 

Linda definitely was not aware of who was standing before her. Linda had tied her up, mutilated her, and thrown her into that house four years ago. 

“Miss, why are you here?” 

Samantha looked at Linda with confusion. A faint smile played on Samantha’s l*ps, while Linda was seething with anger. 

She knew exactly who Linda was, but she had to feign ignorance. Although she had been abroad for many years, Samantha had never once given up on the thought of returning home. 

Francis had provided her with a lot of information regarding Kendrick’s situation. Throughout the years, only one woman had stayed by Kendrick’s side. 

She was Linda Snider, the daughter of Kendrick’s mentor. 

Still, Samantha did not expect the person responsible for her disfigurement to be Linda. She never would’ve thought that Kendrick would let a woman do his d*rty

Thinking back to Kendrick’s attitude toward her, Samantha could not help but stifle a laugh. Kendrick was indeed a businessman. He was forever weighing the advantages and disadvantages of things. 

“Sophia, right? I’m warning you to stay away from Kenny!” 

Looking at the smile on Samantha’s face, Linda was infuriated. She felt that Samantha was boasting to her. 

“Miss, you seemed to have misunderstood something. Mr. Ford and I are only business partners. Why don’t we clear up the misunderstanding now with Mr. Ford?” 

Samantha looked at Linda innocently as she pretended to be embarrassed. However, she felt excited in her heart as the seeds of revenge planted deeply in there started to sprout. 

She thought it was fascinating how closely Linda was watching Kendrick. 

“Don’t play coy with me! I’m not Kenny. That act is futile for me.” 

“Oh? So you’re telling me such an act will work on Mr. Ford?” Samantha pretended to be in deep thought, successfully enraging Linda even further. 

“Did you think you could achieve anything just by sleeping with him? Mark my words, Kenny will never fall for you! Only I remained by his side for so many years. So what if he was married? Women who don’t know their place will only end up miserable. 

“You’re the famous designer, Sophia Meadows, right? I don’t know why you joined Ford Corporation, but you should watch yourself and just focus on working diligently. Keep your plans of seduction to yourself. Don’t even think of coveting Kenny. 

“You’re just a poor orphan. How dare you think of enticing Kenny! Know your place, or you’ll die a horrible death.” 

Linda’s rage made her expression disturbing. There was not a trace of innocence.

Samantha’s face darkened as abhorrence flashed across her eyes. After listening to Linda’s rant, she changed her mind. 

“How will I die? win die exactly like how Samantha Duncan died?” Samantha 

asked slowly.

She watched as Linda’s face turned pale. Linda looked immensely frightened. 

Linda had called her a poor orphan. That indicated that she did not know who Samantha was. 

When Linda referred to her as a woman who did not know her place, Samantha felt like she had been slapped in the face. 

In fact, Linda was prepared to strike her as she had raised her hand. Samantha caught Linda’s wrist and pushed her back. 

She was no longer the woman from four years ago. She had willingly dulled her sharp edges for the man she loved. But that only led her to a miserable ending. 

During her four years abroad, Samantha had undergone training that was not deemed fit for any person. She endured it as she thought back to the times she would feel hopeless. Now, no man would even be considered a worthy adversary in her eyes. 

“You… What are you blabbering about? 

Linda broke free from Samantha’s grip, but she lost the confidence she originally had. Her wide eyes scanned Samantha, looking anxious and at a loss. 

“Aren’t you aware of what I’m saying, Ms. Snider?” 

Samantha took a deep breath and smiled. 

Linda shuddered. “What am I aware of?” 

Even Kendrick was in the dark as to what she had done. Kendrick was a proud man. He definitely would not have talked about Samantha to other people. Therefore, it couldn’t have been Kendrick who informed her about that matter. 

From what Sophia said, Linda suspected that Sophia knew of something. 

“Ms. Snider, do you know the feeling of a knife cutting across your skin?” 

Samantha watched as Linda tried to speak. Linda felt a chill run down her spine as she remembered Samantha’s wretched screams from that night. She lost her balance and stumbled backward. 

“Who are you? Tell me! Who are you?” Linda began to speak in a panicked tone. 

She was no longer as fierce as she was before. Linda recalled how she tossed Samantha into the room, waiting for her to die. 

That had been Linda’s biggest regret for the last four years. Samantha had vanished from the room and the face of the earth since then.

Her disappearance was like a ticking time bomb for Linda. She would never know when the bomb would explode. She had been uneasy and restless for four years 

“Me?”
