Chapter 0019 

Early the next morning, before leaving the villa, Samantha asked Francis to look after Nathan. 

The villa was under Francis‘ name. For the sake of convenience, she had decided that they would all live together. That way, Francis could help care for Nathan. 

Today, Samantha and Kendrick were going to sign their contract. 

Upon leaving the villa, she immediately caught sight of a familiar Maybach. Samantha walked over. Indeed, Kendrick was sitting inside. 

“Mr. Ford, what a coincidence!” Samantha smiled as she greeted Kendrick enthusiastically. 

She couldn’t help but question Kendrick’s sanity. She wondered why he was waiting outside her house. 

When Kendrick’s gaze landed on Samantha, his indifferent expression shifted slightly. 

“Today is the day that you will be joining our company. I came to pick you up personally.” Kendrick revealed his reason for being there. Then, he raised an eyebrow. 

Although he did not have evidence that Sophia was Samantha, he still could not help but want to be closer to her. He refused to give up on that small glimmer of hope.

“Thank kindness, Mr. Ford, but I have my own car. I can drive 

myself.” Samantha smiled and shook the keys in her hand. Then, she turned around and headed toward her garage. 

She wasn’t the woman she used to be. She would not attach herself to Kendrick like she did years ago. Back then, Kendrick was disgusted by her. Now, her disgust for him was correspondent. 

The two of them arrived at the company one after another. When Samantha entered Kendrick’s office, she saw a gorgeous woman already seated there. 

It was Linda. 

Samantha stood by the door and paused. 

“It seems like now is an inconvenient time for you. I can drop by another time.” Although her words seemed considerate, her tone was full of mockery.

“No need. Business is more important.” Kendrick insisted to her as he stepped into his office. 

Since he did not mind, there was no point in being pretentious and hesitant. Moreover, Samantha was quite interested in Linda. She would never forget her voice. 

Linda noticed Kendrick and immediately stood up to welcome him. When she noticed Kendrick entering with Samantha, her expression tensed. 

She had gone to Ford Residence to wait for Kendrick to return. Now, Linda. thought it was no wonder that he did not go back home. He must have been busy with this woman! She remembered that Kendrick had been staring at the 

woman’s photo yesterday. He had also hid it from her. 

In an instant, Linda had cursed Samantha numerous times in her heart. However, a sweet smile remained plastered on her face. 

She walked over to Kendrick and held his arm. She clung to him firmly and asked, “Kenny, where were you last night? I waited for you for so long.” 

Samantha felt goosebumps rise as she heard Linda’s pretentious voice. She pretended to be unfazed and sat on the sofa. She smiled and greeted Jude, “Jude, could you get me a cup of coffee?” 

Jude nodded. With Kendrick’s arrival, there was no longer a need for him to keep an eye on Linda. He turned to leave the office. 

“Why did you come to the office so early?” Kendrick glanced at Samantha. She didn’t seem to pay either of them any attention. He pushed Linda away and sat at his desk. 

Linda answered, “I saw a pretty pink diamond n*ecklace yesterday. I used your card to pay for it and brought it here to show you. I didn’t want you to think I was wasting your money.” 

Linda glared at Samantha with hatred. From where they stood, Kendrick and Samantha were oblivious to her. Linda then skipped happily toward Kendrick. 

She raised her hand to tug on her shirt, exposing her cleavage. There was a pink diamond n*ecklace nestled on her slender n*eck. 

The quality of the diamond n*ecklace was exceptional. Yet, Kendrick did not even look up. He simply pushed away the stack of documents before him. 

He said, “As long as you’re happy. I still have some business to attend to. If you would like to go out, you can ask Damien to accompany you.”

Linda pursed her l*ps. She did not wish to spend time with Damien. Still, she could not say a word as she watched Kendrick fl*p through the documents on his desk. 

She could be stubborn and coy toward Kendrick, but she would never be brave enough to distract him from his work. Everyone knew Kendrick cared deeply for his business. Linda did not want to get on his bad side, so she would refrain from doing such things. 

Thus, Linda got up in disappointment. She could merely agree with Kendrick. ” Alright. I’ll wait here for Damien to pick me up. If my mom asks about the n*ecklace, you should tell her you gifted it to me. I don’t want her to worry.” 

Kendrick agreed as he looked through his documents. 

“You haven’t kept me company for a while now. Could you join me for a meal tomorrow? My parents won’t be around, and I haven’t had a meal in your house. for some time now.” Linda tested the waters, trying to ascertain her place in Kendrick’s heart. 

Kendrick finally looked up when he heard Linda mention her parents. He looked at Linda gently. “Alright. You can drop by Ford Residence tomorrow night. I’ll have Mrs. White prepare some of your favorite dishes.” 

Finally satisfied, she left Kendrick alone. She turned to sit opposite Samantha and raised her eyebrows provocatively. 

Samantha feigned ignorance and pretended as if she hadn’t noticed it. After 

Linda sat down, Samantha stood up. “Are you done chatting? Is it my turn now?” 

Although Samantha’s words were innocuous, Linda perceived them as at challenge. Her hair obscured her face. She looked disturbed. 

Kendrick nodded. Hearing Samantha’s voice, he released the documents from his hand and gestured for her to sit. 

Samantha had just sat when Jude entered with her coffee. 

Just as Jude was about to leave, Kendrick quickly instructed, “Jude, take Linda to your office. Ask Damien to come and get her.”

Linda stood up abruptly when she heard what Kendrick had said. She wanted to disagree with the arrangement. But when she met Kendrick’s cold gaze, ultimately followed Jude out of the office. 

She was curious to learn about what sort of deal he struck with that woman and why she was prompted to leave.

Her heart was filled with indignation as she turned to Jude. “Jude, who is that woman? Kenny seems to treat her differently.” 

Jude could sense Linda’s displeasure. However, he felt that it was not appropriate to reveal some things to her. 

Jude smiled and replied, “She’s a famous designer from abroad who had just returned. Mr. Ford intends to invite her to join the company.” 

“A designer, huh?” Linda repeated. She did not believe things were that simple. 

She sensed that Samantha was a dangerous woman. She also noticed that Kendrick treated her quite differently. To Linda, it appeared as though that vixen was planning to seduce Kendrick through her job. 

Although she detested that woman, Linda remained silent. Having dealt with Samantha in the past, she felt that there was nothing to fear. A mediocre designer was not much of a threat. 

After coming to a conclusion, Linda stopped fretting over the matter. Her eyes shone with malice as she tightened her grip on her bag. She would not allow anyone to obstruct her relationship with Kendrick. 

In Kendrick’s 

office, Samantha sipped on her coffee. Feeling pleased, she said, ” Mr. Ford, aren’t you worried? She didn’t seem very happy.” 

Kendrick’s expression remained calm. He placed the documents aside and stated, “I didn’t know you enjoy gossiping as well.”
