Elrael darted out of the control room with cries of fury and turned right, into the corridor that led to the inner part of the installation, to recover his strength. His mechanical legs were pumping the hydraulic fluid like blood to the muscles, running jump after jump, overtaking in speed all living terrestrial organisms. He was moving deftly and energetically, but he also knew that some of the bullets pieces his armor and did some damage. He might not manage to make any major repairs here. Of course, they might not even be necessary. After all, it cannot be doubted that he - a Sarassian who is in near-immortal condition - will not only not yield to ordinary, weak humans, but he’ll crush them into non-existence! The damages to this body are only a temporary problem, the robot laughed malevolently to himself. Soon after, though, the thought ran through his mind that if he’s not more careful, confrontation with these lower beings may still pose a problem. After all, even an excellent hunter sometimes falls prey to its chase.

“What a shame the Protagonists couldn’t build this body to the same standard represented by my brethren,” said Elrael to himself through clenched teeth. Even having managed to launch the activation sequence for the hyperspace transmitter, a lot could still happen before it’s started and any signal can be transmitted. And that annoying human astronaut had quite a share in it. “I underestimated you, dear Ellie... But it’s the last time,” he said furiously.

The avatar had to neutralize the threat to his plan as quickly as possible. The strategic retreat was but a temporary complication, but according to the calculations, there was still almost an hour left until the transmission is sent. Elrael smiled to himself. In one hour everything will change and nothing will alter the course of history!

Even if they know what awaits them, those vermin won’t be able to do anything. First, the humans will need to face me, and I’m certain I can recover the extra minutes, it thought. I just need to eliminate one of the ants, and the rest of them will scatter off in a panic. Even if it’d happen that I fall, though that’s an extremely unlikely turn of events, I’ll get it done. My kinsmen will come to Earth! he rejoiced.

“But... why just settle for only this one goal...” said the robot to himself. “I think I’m easily capable of more. Like breaking the bones of every irritating human that walks and spoils the air in this wretched complex.”
