Chapter 16

Xavier’s POV

Two weeks have gone by. Two weeks since Bliss killed her father. Two weeks that she was awake.

After I brought her to the hospital and gave her to the doctor, she immediately went into a coma. The doctors said she would wake up soon.

That was 2 weeks ago though. She had to get some blood transferred. That was me who did that. I am an alpha and you heal faster when you have alpha blood in you.

Right now, I am sitting by her bed holding her cold hand. I haven’t left her side in these 2 weeks.

I watched her breath in and out. She looked so peaceful. I listened to the heart monitor beeping, waiting for her to wake up.

The door opened and Blake came in.

He came in and sat down beside me. He looked at Bliss and a tear slide down his face.

“I can’t believe this happened to her,” he whispered. I looked at him. “I promised my mom to keep them safe,” He said and wiped his face of any tears.

“If you don’t mind me asking, what happened to your mom?” I asked. He gave a bitter laugh as more tears fell.

“She died. A rogue killed her. They were looking for my dad. They killed his pack when he was Alpha but he escaped. We were playing outside while Bliss was inside cooking. We were only 12 at the time. After the rogues found my dad, they saw my mom. They offered a trade; my dad’s life for my mom to marry the leader. She denied the offer. So they attacked. My mom ran inside after she hide us to get Bliss. The leader followed her and killed her right in front of Bliss. He demanded Bliss that she had to go back with him. Bliss refused and he sliced her throat. Luckily, she lived but he did cut her vocal cord so she couldn’t talk after that. We always talked to her through the family mind-link at home, school and anywhere else. We would all block our dad out of the conversation. He would get so mad that he would beat Bliss. He beat Bliss more because she would not fight him, just sit there while he hit her. He would take his anger off her.

We would barely get beaten. We could not go out of the house unless it was to go to school or the store. We never got to see Bliss’ wolf but we got to see everybody else. Bliss lived in the attic. We all had the same room but Bliss. The rest of the rooms are filled with my dad’s junk. We were never allowed in her room. If we went in there, we got a beating. When Caleb said he could help her but she would not go to school or come home, I was so scared. I was afraid that he would beat her so much she would die or something worse,” he finished. By the end, I had mixed emotions going through me. Anger, sadness and pity.

I can’t believe my mate went through all that. She is going to make an awesome Luna. Well, what can you say? Expect the worst.

Bliss’ POV

‘Well I only speak the truth,’ I said and cut off the conversation.
