Chapter 389 I Shouldn't Have Ignored You

Athena finished the project and didn't have time to rest.

She went straight to the kitchen and prepared breakfast for Mia and Aiden.

Just after the breakfast was ready, Aiden went downstairs.

Before they left, Athena had already started to miss them.

"Aiden, I will finish work as soon as possible," Athena pressed her forehead against Aiden's and said pitifully.

Aiden touched her cheeks, which looked pale because of staying up late.

He stroked the dark circles under her eyes and asked, "Mommy, have you worked all night?"

Athena nodded. "I suddenly had a great inspiration for my unfinished project, so I finished it overnight. When I checked the time, it was already morning."

"Don't be too tired," Aiden said softly, "You will get sick if you stay up late."

He didn't want Athena to get sick.

The last time Athena was sick, he was scared.

He was afraid of losing his mom.

"I promise!" Athena said softly, "Let's have breakfast. I prepared them for you!"

Aiden nodded.

"I'll wake Mia up." Athena touched Aiden's head and went upstairs.

She opened the door of the children's room.

As she expected, Mia was still curled up in the bed.

She walked over and was about to wake Mia when she heard her sobs.

Athena's fingers froze. She thought, "Mia... Is she still reluctant to part with Byron?"

"Mia." Athena approached gently, held Mia's shoulders, and pulled her over.

Mia's nose turned red from crying.

Athena felt distressed.

"Why are you crying?" She wiped away tears for Mia.

Mia looked at Athena and kept sobbing. "Mommy... Mommy, I'm sorry... I shouldn't ignore you and make you sad!"

Athena was stunned.

She thought Mia was so sad because of Byron.

She was surprised by Mia's apology.

"It's okay. Don't cry, baby."

Athena hugged Mia and patted her on the back. "Mia, you are still young. I don't know how to tell you about some things, so there are many things you don't understand. You and Aiden are the best children in the world... It's my fault. I couldn't do well enough."

Mia hugged Athena's shoulders and cried.

She also woke up when Aiden got up.

But she wanted to cry when she thought she would leave Mailand and could no longer see Byron and her mother for a long time. She suddenly felt guilty, especially when she thought she had ignored her mother yesterday.

"Mommy, I will grow up fast!" Mia sobbed and said.

Athena wanted to say, "It's okay. You are always my baby."

But when it got to the mouth, she said, "I will try my best to do better in the future!"

"Yeah." Mia nodded and hugged Athena's neck.

Athena coaxed her for a while. Mia washed up and put on her clothes while sobbing.

Then, she took out beautiful rubber bands and went downstairs to find Jaxson to tie her hair with tears on her face.

Athena was both funny and sad.

She followed Mia and went downstairs.

When she got to the living room, she saw Rose coming from the yard.

"Where did you go so early?" Athena asked in surprise.

"I left a few people for you, and I went to give them a lecture," Rose said. Seeing Mia sit on her small bench and sob, she walked over and said, "Oh, sweetheart, why are you crying? Your nose is red." Mia sobbed and said intermittently, "I... I'm fine... Madam Stella. I just can't stop sobbing."

After another two sobs, she continued, "I will be fine in a while..."

Rose felt distressed.

She ignored Athena and coaxed Mia.

Athena looked at Rose.

She didn't want Rose to leave someone for her.

She had rejected her several times before.

But this time... Rose would probably not compromise.
